War Diary of Norel Glangak

An old beaten up book, covered in sweat, blood and other stain. On the first page a written line reads:
"Tomi was her….....the wiggley line that follows gives the impression whoever was writting this was suddenly, and violently pulled away

Entered the Norwick Fight Night, showed them tha' there is nay a contest against a crossbow. Must have had some of Clanggedins own ale or somethin', could not miss. In the end hit the target right in the eye all times. Got some looks from the bow elves. Got some nice bolts for the effort. Greet fa givin the gobbers wha' fa.

Day 213
Nae a word on the curr Bloodnok.
Been gettin' a routine and all. Some gobber and hobbers runs become part the normal day. Gonna take a long time ta get enough rusted daggers and lint ta pay fa some fine dwarven plate mind. If'n Ah didnae have head, would think about gettin' in on Tomi's idea about "goblin lint cod piece fillers" ta make some more gold.
Went with tha' Aerr fella, tha' flamer ta some caves near Oscura. Be fishmen tha' way. Better gear, tha' be fa sure. Almost didnae make it back though, some small demon like things almost got me.
Found merchant dwarf, Cogan in cellar Inn, got'n some good stuff. Make sure ta return when can afford it'n.
Finally replaced me old helmet tha' got lost durin' the last ambush with the HI. Had ta get ta Peltarch and have a lad form it the way Ah like it.
Gnarl got'n himself a nice new axe, we let the gobbers have a look at it'n, Ah guess them will be havin' problems tellin' the other gobbers ta run from Brightaxe without any heads.

Still nae sign Bloodnok, might nae be here in Norwick, but nae sure yet. Need better supplies before Ah can move on anyway.
Been keepin' busy keepin' an eye on the gobbers and hobbers. Caige be tellin' me tha' sometimes a mad hobber can be found in tha' there runt camp, Caige been gettin' some fine weapons from tha' hobber, all it be wantin' in trade is a gobber doll…Ah think it been hit on the heid one time ta many.
Meet a new one ta, Nathan Kross, some new comer ta town. Gotn bit ta learn about nae chargin macer gobbers.
Found a masterworked morningstar out tha' hobbers, so gotn a decent back up fa when the bastarts get through the firein line.

Day 201
Thought I saw Bloodnok today. Turned out I nearly shot a local farmers prize hog. Steady Norel, Bloodnok will get his, sooner or later.
Been workin on improvin funds. Cannae hunt down the bastart Bloodnok ifn cannae eat. Only way ta do this n seems ta be ta patrol the woods an sell wha' ya get from gobbers and such. Means alot of time spent around the south gate. But at least I be gettin some target practice. Did the auld run around the lake with Tomi an a lass named Chea and Mike. Went ta the west of lake, found more gobbers.
Later I followed much the same crew as from Operation "Find da cur Major Bloodnok and shoot a bolt up his arse" Day 175 (Reo, Misty and co) inta the hobbers cave. Went well, took out a good number of hobbers. The other warned though, nae ta attack a hoober they called a demonologist. When we saw one, we retreated.
Also helped a man named Charles from tha Oscra place ta gather coal from gobbers and hobbers. Was an alright deal, I gotn the loot, he gotn the coal. He is part ofn Peace Keepers, a para military unit tha operates out of Oscura. we also took a look down what he called the "smaller" ofn the two crypts in the old grave yard. First level be a cake walk, second level, nae so much. Retreated after fightin a undead wearin a smelly old cloak with wha looked like old Norwick emblem on it. Note to self: Get more soap.

Day 193-194
The bastart Bloodnok still be hiddin'.
Operation "Goblin doll":
Aftah a short recon run inta down by the lake with Tomi, we returned to Norwick. By the main fire in town, there was alot of talk about recent massing numbers of goblins. Two teams went out ta investigate. The dwarf named Vanderkaus lead one group, Ah lead the other. (Me, Tomi, and tha' Lence fellah) We were ta scout the lake area and meet back up ta report our findings. We did nea go far. As soon as we entered tha lake area we were greeted by a axe wieldin' gobber and some of'n his little friends. Aint seen a gobber like tha' since Operation "Hold and Squint" in the northern Thar region. We had nea choice by ta retreat, in the hussle we got seperated from Lence, but since tha cur axe wielder gobber and his friends be chasin us, we had ta keep retreatin' all the way ta the gate.
Once back, Lence came stumblin' inta the gate, somehow he managed ta get back. Be a bloody miracle if'n ya ask me.Me and Tomi held the gate until a lass called Danika came along, with her we went on the offensive and dealt with the axe wielder and his friends, tha' had held up at the old ruins. Betsy got a good right in his eye! Took his axe as a war trophy. We had a look down the lake, and aye, we found the main force. By use of'n some clever tactics, we made good use of our archery skills, and managed ta knock out 1 company of'n their light infantry, and 2 groups of'n their sling archers. AFter tha' it were time fa a retreat. The rest of the army had an odd look about them tha' we did nae like. Back at the gate, Danika left us fa ta scout. Later we found out tha see made it ta Vanderkaus group. This Danika lass is the first we have seen tha' understands tactics.
Seein' tha the gate be safe, me and Tomi made camp fa the night. The next day we headed ta the western whimpy gobbers. Again did nae get far. Just as we entered their territory we saw a new massed army. Again outnumbered, we got some reinforcments from the south gate. These whimpy gobbers were nae much problems, but Ah guess word of'n me has gotten around the wee curs, since all of'n their battle mages decided Ah was a good target. It did them nae good though. After a short patrol around those woods, we could see tha' there were no other mass gobbers sights, so we went back ta camp.

Day 187: ((ale steinmark in top right corner))
No new news about the cur Bloodnok.
Writtin' from the infirmary bed. After'n raid inta them there gobbers, Ah an Tomi went inta a cave. The bats were easy enough, the bear was nea though. Ah'll never know how it ran out the cave so fast. Tomi went in scoutin', came out faster then Ah ever seen the lazy git move. Guess havin' a bear on his tail might have had somethin' to do with tha'. All this wanderin' around lookin' fe Bloodnok must have made us soft. Ah can hear wha' Sergeant Tuds “Shut Up!” Willmin of'n 4th section would have ta say about this:
"Donnea enter a Ass kicking contest if ye be a porcupine"!
Luckily Tomi found someone in this dump tha' actually was willin' ta lend a hand.Weekly status report

Day 175:
Got some action today. Went with some lass looking ta "hunt for treasure". About 7 people came along. Did nae get far before one did nae want ta go further, and all started arguing about the dangers. They were still at it when Ah came back several hours later. Are all people ere this touchy-feely?
Crud. Tomi showed up today. Out of all towns in all da lands, im had ta walk into this un. Good ta see tha' at least un more of the HI made it, but why him?
Note to self: Make sure to rewire traps on purse.Met a kin named Storn, showed us the woods south of Norwick un bit, helped get Tomi a new set of leathers, his old ones were pinker than un fishes wet bits. Also got ta see da Hold! Real ale at last! Tha' lass Elsbeth seemed likable ta.
