Arranged Meeting - Hoarran Group and Jonathan

  • Legion

I think an investigation is definitely warranted.

Please understand though Jonathan, if this was indeed a servant of Peltarch they have gone rogue and were by no means under command from Peltarch to carry out any of these actions. I've always found Ronan attractive, but the fact that he is married makes the whole thing awkward.

  • Ronan approaches Jonathon for the scroll..

    If I may..

Making sure it's fine with everyone on the Hoarran side at his approach. If none stop him or protest, he walks over to get the scroll… which he assumes has the description and such of the person in question on it, if he takes it, he walks back over to the Peltarch side to look it over..

  • Sir Galin Reynolds
A simple nod indicating that everything so far appears to be truth.

    Jonathan
Quite simply, she didn't willingly show that badge. Her plan was going far from what she wished. There are other reasons that I will not speak of in such an open place that I believe her one of yours.

He takes one hand off his spear long enough to pull a scroll from a pouch, an amused smile touching his lips, as he holds it up.

Description. Name. Other information. Are you willing to at least investigate my claim made under your truth spell?

  • Hardin

If the Jewel wanted ya dead, would we send an assassin with a badge? I'd think not. This person ain' no one loyal to the Jewel or operatin' under our orders. They be tryin' to start a war, simple as tha'. Puttin' us against each other.

  • I would think that, given what you saw of her trying to implicate yourselves in the murdering of the Legion individual, that she would try to implicate Peltarch as well if it was her want to get folks "riled up." She had arrows of your fletchings on them, so I imagine she is capable of taking a Peltarch Defender badge as well, or if she was hired by us… this woman you speak has certainly made herself out to be something she's not to us.

Tell me, what did this woman look like? Elven? Human? A mix of both? Did she give a name? Was she wearing defender colors? If not, then what was she wearing? Give as detailed description as you can, if you would..

Ronan, for the most part, seems unsurprised by Thomas's and Jonathon's stories.. which may or may not indicate Ronan finds them plausible, but it's difficult to read his reaction at this point.

  • Ashald:

After looking to Galin to ensure no lies have been spoken.

"You have heard wrong. Our Far Scouts are just that. Scouts. Whoever killed this Silverblade no doubt acquired a badge from the Peltarch Defenders in much the same way they acquired fletchings from your arrows. Through deception, and with deception in mind as to the use of them."

  • ::Mariston watches from horseback::

  • Sir Galin Reynolds
With a nod to the Hoarrans, and a rather brisk tone.
    Let's get to it then.
A quiet moment of prayer, and some chanting, and he quickly moves through the motions, before nodding to the Senators then to Jonathan.

    Jonathan
Thomas will start then. Makes a motion to Thomas who steps forward long enough to quickly give swift testimony.

    Thomas
Well then. It's pretty much as already's been said. I saw her come into the pass, up around the corner she was leading the man in Legion armor. Couldn't catch what was being said since there was a good amount of distance and all between us. But there was a quick motion, then the Legion man was down on the ground and not getting up. She started fussing around the body before heading on south, seemed right sure of herself she did. Well, as soon as she was past and out of sight, I went right on up there and there was some arrows in him with our fletchings like. So I made quick back towards the camp to let them know there was something up. Reckoned she was trying to get the Legion riled at us as well as everyone else. That's about it.

He steps back and again does his best to stay behind the other two. Jonathan nods to him, before turning to look at the Senators. His voice cold as he talks, eyes watching their reactions, hands still on his spear.

    Jonathan

I've been told many times that Peltarch bears us ill will. Still, we've kept behind our gates. When this same woman walked up to me, I talked to her. She originally tried to pass herself off as one of my own scouts, but I was not fooled by that. She tried to convince me she used to live in our lands and was hoping to return. I was wary. She attempted to blackmail me with the dead Legion member in the pass, and she showed her true colors when she showed me the badge of a Peltarch Defender.

I left her to speak with Silverblade while I made went back to the camp to make sure the guards were on alert in case this was somehow more then just a poor attempt of a ruse. While speaking with Silverblade, she struck him a mortal blow, then fled north, back towards the city she came from. Leaving behind this..

He holds up an exotic looking flower, turning it slightly.

.. and a poem. I've been told that your Far Scouts have been used as assassins in the past. What else are my people supposed to believe, when a favored elder of theirs is slain in such fashion?

  • Rico winces at the poor choice of words.

  • Ashald:

"Thank you for coming, Sir Galin. Fire away when ready."

  • A large and balding man, still in serviceable full plate and stroking his full beard comes comes in with long strides, a serious look on his face as he works his way through the onlookers to those gathered. Nodding to each of the Senators, and then once towards the Hoarrans.

    Sir Galin Reynolds.

I offer greetings to the Peltarch Senate, and those gathered. I've been requested to provide truth spells for testimony that is to be given. My sincere apologies for the tardiness, but I was tied to some duties at the temple that I had to attend. If everything is prepared, I will cast before testimony begins, there is a limit to the durations. I will indicate when the spell has passed its time, and renew if necessary.

    Looks to both groups.

    Is all prepared then?

  • Ronan glances about with a lofted brow..

Is Shannon or Daisy arriving soon?

    ((Bump))

  • Not seemingly too surprised, Jonathan makes a motion back towards the other Hoarrans, and several mages drop their invisibility spells, spaced fairly evenly through the heavier armed of the guards. Almost immediately, shieldmen move in front of them.

Now. Since that's settled.. where's your truth caster?

  • Legion

Marty waits patiently for the issue of invisible hoarns to resolve itself one way or another.

  • Unseen by all but the most keen eyes, Raúl observes the scene quietly, watching for other possible Hoarrans sneakers that might be doing suspicous movements and other things

  • Rico Swift passes the scene, and immediately sets his sights on one of the Hoaran trio. Finding the closest friendly ear not involved in the negotiations, Rico points at Vaxin and asks "What is he doing here?"

  • Ronan murmurs, but loud enough for Jonathon and the front Hoarrans to hear, laying a hand upon Rath's shoulder..

I say let them keep their invisible friends, in case a larger threat decides to interrupt the meeting. Worry not, I'll keep an eye on them and note any odd movements they make, senator. I doubt either side will be foolish enough to attack the other..

  • The next to show up, is Senator Ashald, accompanied by Lord Chadwick Whyte and a number of Seafarer lackies and sycophants who stay back from the main group as Rath strides in, beaming all around him.

    Ashald:

"Good day, all. Damn good weather for it. Senators Snydders, Fisher and Heffa send their regards, they will not be joining us today."

Nods to an aide who murmers something to him after taking with Ronan, then addresses Jonathan directly, his handsome features frowning uncharacteristically.

"Jonathan my boy, the invisible people you have round about the place…not acceptable. Have them reveal themselves, or this meeting ends right now."

  • _After a few people arrive, three figures are seen cresting the hill to the north. As they move closer, the blue color and insignia of the Wavebreakers Pirates is easily made out. Senator Hardin and his escort moving deliberately slow and cautiously as they approach the assembled group..

Just short of the group, the two Wavebreakers escorting Hardin stop at his command, one of them a large woman with a cutlass at her hip turns her eyes to the Hoarrans present, those eyes narrowing slightly as she watches them with a glare that could melt ice likely, the tips of her fingers dancing lightly along the hilt of her cutlass. The second Wavebreaker, a short yet well built man with an infectious grin covering his face even now has two short swords strapped to either side of his waist, he eyes the area about the meeting place, seeming to ignore the Hoarrans themselves and any Peltarch personnel present.

Hardin himself seems calm and collected as he walks closer and puffs away on a cigar, the smoke billowing up and around his head. He nods his head slightly to the Peltarch people present then turns his eyes to Jonathon and the other Hoarrans, regarding them closely a moment._

So, we gonna get this show goin' or what? That be Lisabelle and Darron. Nodding his head to the woman and man who escorted him. Insisted they come with me and all. As did the other crew. They just don' listen well to the Captain anymore.

With that said, he bobs his head back north slightly again, the figures of a dozen Wavebreaker Pirates near the Shrine armed with bows becoming obvious now to anyone who looks, seeming to be holding their ground a respectful distance from the meeting itself but well within bow shot if required. Hardin gives another puff on his cigar before pulling it from his mouth and tossing it to the ground and stepping on it. Looking back to Jonathon and the other Hoarrans as he addresses them them this time.

They be fine, so long as ye all be fine too. They won't come no closer unless they got reason to.

  • The Halfling Defence League

_Seren stays as close as possible to her friend and superior officer, Lycka, watching over proceedings and making sure that the hoarans aren't up to any monkey business.

Though she avoids getting -too- too close to the meeting, so as not to provoke anyone into acting rashly.*_
