Rumors heard throughout Oscura.

  • The corpse of a Mulhorandi man was found outside the Raven Rift near the surface. The man was obviously killed by sword wounds - likely from a hand-and-a-half blade. He had no possessions on him other than a ruined armor and a shield. As it seems the man was not blooded, the guard give little care as to an investigation.

  • The Selunite Aelthas can be seen the past few nights to be enjoying the Coppers. Nothing more then a goblet of rothe milk in his hand, he simply sits against one of the walls, in plain brown clothing, not the usual bright pink. He speaks to no one unless spoken to first, with the exception of the bartender or a waitress when ordering his drinks, just staring off at the wall most times, his long blonde hair now streaked with grey at the temples, the corners of his eyes creased as if his age is finally getting to him.

  • _Anyone travelling the tunnels that lead to the duergar dwellings can find along the way a camp with Kossuthan symbology. Upon approaching the camp, eight bodies can be seen laying in the ground. Seven of those bodies are heavily armored and wear Kossuthan symbols, a few of them wearing Thayvian crests in addition to that.

The last body, a young girl wearing mere rags, has been tended with special care and laid to rest, unlike all the other bodies which seem to have been carnaged by blade and magic and piled up. Upon further inspection, some dig holes can be found, with multiple digging tools and several traces of slaves working on them, such as chains and shackles.

However, no slaves are to be found. Other than perhaps the young girl wearing rags that didn't survive whatever happened, and was carefully tended to afterlife?_

  • @3f87b36d5f=Celtic8824:

A boat returns to the docks, and from it departs a crimson-haired man covered in a black cloak. His shadowy greaves clank practically soundlessly on the stony dock.

    It seems Blackwater has returned.

Vladimir puts 10 gold (binned) behind the bar at the coppers upon hearing of Brydens return

"Get him whatever he likes when hes back in Jario"

  • Recently there has been a surge of a small amount of exotic goods from the west. Various spices, foodstuffs, silk wares, weaponry, pottery, and even some very peculiar but delicious sausages can be found at various vendors in small quantities. Where this sudden influx came from is anybodies guess, but the blooded seem quite content in their revelry of some small level of positive change.

  • _Some extra guards can be seen at the Raven Rift and docks, most likely watching for any panicked Peltarchians.

Meanwhile, smugglers have been delighted at the recent chaos in the Peltarch docks, and more Peltarch goods are seen in Oscura than usual._

  • Over the past few months, a Woman clad in dark silks and soft leather boots has been seen playing the macabre tune of her fiddle by the well, occasionally retiring to reverie before returning to have her notes cry out through oscura's commons once again. only recently is Aune seen wandering away from the well to mingle with the people.

  • Panting, limping and bleeding, a dark-clad trio haste across the bridge to Oscura from the caverns beyond the Hellmouth. The recognizable figure of Black Sails captain Sabre Seesaw is one of the three, and after a few choice curses, she warns the guards about the cause of the party's speedy exit - drow.

"Couple o'them rat-arsed wankers still out there, heavily armored an' chop-happy. I'd nay recommend goin' out there fer a liiil' while yet.."

  • The Inquisitor has been seen going around to several of the different merchants around town, namely the rothe and mushroom farmers, as well as the Skullcrusher clan, and lastly stopping in at the library to have a chat with the Red Falcons.

  • @da41d20d68=Etherian:

Rumor has it Tribune Ashire is looking for some people to attend a trading voyage with him. All interested can apply at the Black Sails Warehouse for one of the remaining spots.

//pm me here is the best place to catch me.

On her many trips to Oscura, Diadne leaves word that she would be delighted to go

  • Vladimir was seen carrying several displacer beast bodies and what looked like a baby dragon head in via the west gate

  • ICC

Local resident Zarius Caine is seen heading to speak to the Tribunal. Word is that he was banned from the town of Norwick, accused of being a slave trader, and that he is looking to have the tribunal provide him with an official document stating his noninvolvment in the slave trade and his nonownership of slaves as well

  • Vladimir has seemed a little on edge as of late. Speculation would likely draw it is the news and tightenings on the slave law from the surface. Or perhaps he is scared of blood from the mutilated bodies in the rift. But who knows…?

  • _Due to the recent news about slaves from both Norwick and Peltarch, there was an attempted break out by about ten slaves to escape to the safety of the surface.

Their mutilated bodies now decorate the Raven Rift, staked on display, which has put off any further escapes quite successfully.

Meanwhile, non-Oscuran ships have been under more scrutiny by the Black Lotus and Oscuran guards, in case of any deranged smugglers._

Meanwhile, like vultures, priests and wizards of Velsharoon have been frequenting Oscura more as slave owners turn to selling the starved corpses of their former slaves to the Velsharoonites, who are more than happy to enlist more undead slaves to their service. Dominated undead can be seen in the city more frequently then ever.

Quelcoth eyes the free-for-all dead-body buffet and ponders to himself: Shopping Spree!!!

A relatively recent arrival from Mulhorand calling himself Akhet Tholaunt can occasionally be seen conversing with the Velsharoonites, as well as as looking for cheap dead.

ooc hahaha awesome, I love this place 🙂

  • _With the recent disagreements in trade between Oscura and the surface, some minor changes have been occurring in the city.

Unsurprisingly, the rich seem completely unaffected in how they are living, and continue their overly opulent lifestyles.

That is, apart from the Komnenos family, whose business is gravely suffering as their legal trade agreements with various surface merchants dry up.

Meanwhile, the slaves of Oscura are suffering worse than ever. As basic foodstuffs get more expensive and slave owners need to turn to long distance imports as opposed to local products, they simply have been feeding their slaves less than ever before. The odd slave can even be seen being dragged off by guards, starved to death.

There is no shortage of replacements however. As a result of the happenings of the surface, Oscura has began trading more with Thay, the Zhentarium and even some below the Underdark. Red Wizards and Zhent officers can be seen visiting the city quite often, and there are rumours that some of the noble families have met with emissaries from small Duergar clans.
