Gathering those that are Preparing for the Dracolich
-
::Mariston sits back and listens intently then turns to Ronan::
If there is anything we can do to aid thee?
//I will not be able to actually be IG sadly, we have guests that day/night.//

Elyl attends the meeting at the Great Hall
I will stay and help the town prepare for evacuation and also to help defend it should other troubles arise. May Torm grant his aid to you in undertaking this endeavor to smite such a terrible evil and may the grace of all the Triad be upon you in this righteous duty.
((I am, unfortunately, going to be camping this weekend and won’t be able to play. However, on the positive side, hopefully I will be able to catch a large trout and once I return, will be able to slap each and every narfer with it! ))

The white hawk flies out after Jerrick.

@6fbbe55324=SummonerX:
Ronan eventually chimes in after the debates..
I have to agree with Mariston on some levels. I dont trust the Yaun-ti at all, and their motives are purely for self-interest… not to help us. The only reason they came to us for an "alliance" is because we happen to have the same enemy. If we're successful, then the yaun-ti will most certainly betray us to get whatever they want off the dracolich's defeat.
Anyway, the Divine Shield's choice is theirs and they gave their reasons.
As for myself, I will not be attending the attack. That is, I wont be helping in my traditional way of blowing things up. Once you're all on your way to the assault, I will inform of what my help will be..
<g>FARK!
We don't even have RONAN? <g>WHAT THE SHITE!</g></g>

If the tower IS his phylactery then I say we blow a hole in the wall on some unexpected side, start finding the columns, and then rig them all to blow. We rig one side of the tower's columns, light the fuse, run out our makeshift entrance, then watch it topple.
I'm carrying enough explosives to do it. If anyone else can carry their own that'll speed up the process of getting everything set. My firebomb traps are tricky to set up, so anyone else bringing explosives is better off bringing kegs if they can carry them.

(( Celad pipes up for the first time))
Seems to me we are getting real upset about a maybe. Why waste time on maybe the yaunti are coming? Personally, I think we should tell them to go thier own way. We never see them here for any other attacks,,only now when they know we will be hard pressed. Sounds like a trap. A betting man would see this as a fine chance to make a strong foothold into Norwick property. Of course, maybe I am just being paranoid, after all, like some others have said, they have never been our enemies before. Oh, wait, YES THEY WERE!
I believe we stand by our allies, and not lose them for a past enemy that might be gone after the battle. But hell, it's just my opinion.
((He then sits back down against the wall))

"Biggest threat?"
Wren's voice drifts out of a shadowed corner of the hall, where the glow of a pipe dimly flickers and makes the shadows twist.
"Maybe the more obvious one.
"The Yuan-Ti want something. They are not aiding you from charity. They are using you as a blunt instrument.
"What is it they want? Guessing the motives of the Snakes is never an easy task. Seems to me though that it might be trouble worth taking. If you knew, maybe you could… turn the tables... at the right time.
"Without that knowledge, I'll have no part in any attack in partnership with the Yuan-Ti. I fear them far more than a mouldering wyrm with pretensions to sorcery."
-
Not put off by the hideous death and destruction imminent and immediate around Norwick, the gallant and ever-cheerful Peltarchian gnome Perriwig P. Doubleday continues to spend his holiday around the town. Having finished his generous lunch in the inn and setting out on an afternoon's constitutional, he overhears the mischief and pokes his long nose into the room, clearly attracted by the clamour. Producing his (alas wildly outdated) "Rustic Narfellian Phrase Book, For Scenes Public and Domestic" he attempts to follow the to and fro with apparently limited comprehension. After a hoodwinked period of incomprehension, he tugs on whatever sleeve is dangling nearest…
"I say, my fine horny-handed son of toil, is this the Norwickian debating society? What fun! Might I suggest a topic?"
-
Vladimir Kursk has stood quietly for the conversation before stepping forward
"Hammerhand is right. The Dragon is the target we should focus upon. I admit Norwick is not my home, yet if this dragon is not killed i fear a Third Norwick will have to be built, if the snakes take Norwick, you can always take it back again, yet the Dragon is far more powerful than us and the Snakemen put together.
Besides if not the the Yaun Ti, i dare say Norwick would no longer exist.. And i would choose there aid over that of the Paladins of Peltarch who claim to fight for rightousness, yet fail to do there duty in protecting these lands from the undead dragon. Yet that is far more a sin than working with a nessercery evil.
As for the matter of who is organising this attack. Id suggest a representitive from the various… facitons we have here. For the Druids, Rayfe, for the Leigon, the respective officer, and for all others, i nominate Chancellor Dolvak."
-
"The dracolich is clearly the biggest threat right now. We'll need to focus on it to have any chance. Maybe the Yuanti are planning to use the opportunity to take Norwick, or do something worse, but there's not much to do about it. If we focus on them, the dracolich will just walk over us. Or fly. Whatever. We can't split ourselves in half and face both, without losing to both. So let's focus on what we -can- do."
-
A resolved man pipes up from the back ranks:
"Oi. Ye're suggestin' we 'ave a fight on two fronts. This ain't gobs 'an hobs, feller. We 'ave to deal wit this lich lout, t'e'en begin t'worry bout wot them snake sods 'ave planned."
The guardsman rolls a shoulder, and leans against a wall, taxed.
-
::Mariston takes his gauntlet, his face resolute::
I understand the pressing nature of the Dracolich and its grave threat to these lands. Yet we must be wary that we do not open ourselves to a greater threat, by acting without knowledge nor prescience into what couldst occur through our actions.
Do we fight this creature, and if we win, in our weakened state do we open ourselves to an attack from the yuan-ti, now excellently in position at our flanks and near a poorly defended Norwick?
Do they seek something of power that this Dracolich holds?
These and many other matters concern me greatly and I feel shouldst concern thee all too. From their actions in the past the yuan-ti hath proven their nature to be deceitful and cunning, using our own fears to allow themselves to worm their way into our trusts. I wouldst hate to see such occur again.
-
Maya looks around
When I was with Sisterhood, we used to run orphanage. Was like this I think, except people are taller, and swords not made of wood.
-
YngdÃr, with some reluctance, turns to Dwin and gives the typical slight bow of his head, and moves over to resume his place by the Legionnaires.
-
Even as Hammer steps in, Dwin pounds the table ((there's always a table around)) with both hands, sending any tabletop items flying in the air and causing a loud commotion
((this posting is happening too fast! ))
ENOUGH!
Even I, the simple Dwarf, see that his evil points southward has penetrated this very Hall! Before me stand two men who I would trust with my own life–ready to take each other's! LUNACY!
This is folly... this is madness!
Eoden... Yngdir... You are both guests in MY Hall right now, and you will both do me the honor of standing down and stopping this before any real blood is shed. We cant afford even the TIME for such distractions.
*Dwin hands Eoden his gauntlet in a delicate manner, as to honor the man's armor. *
You'll want to keep that ...
I need you both... and whether its on the field of battle or healing those that have been in battle, it matters not... I know your hearts are both in the right place.
Lets get back to the business of battle-planning and rid ourselves of these arguments!
-
The point I am trying to make is this, what do the yuan-ti gain from this?
What is it they want, what is their goal is it related to the control orb they hath or some other machination, does it increase their control over these lands?
Regardless of the fact that aiding them is abhorrent, we need more information, why this sudden rush of complicity and compassion from those that once abducted the people from this very town to conduct vile experiments on…or hath memories become short and dull in recent years?
-
_Hammer steps in between, much where Rith stood/still stands and raises his voice.
"Alright, shut the hells up.. both of you." – As the Legionaire private commands both the Sergeant and the Senator -- "This isn't getting us anything worthwhile." He looks at Yngdir.. "If you can't stand the thought of accepting that not everyone can or will help in the same way" .. and then to Mariston... "or that by your own choice you won't help in the same way.. then leave! Nobody needs this sheite! You both made your point damn well enough. Yah, the paladins are no good when they're not here. Yah, the knight has decades more experience than most of us. But non of this matters one damn bit if we can't all pull it together, stop looking at our little, pathetic selves and look at what we're up against. People -are- going to die.
We're here to come up with a plan to make sure not everyone does. And that's all. Tear our each others' throats if and when we still have any left!"_

@9281c02f37=JerrickRafe:
With that, he strides out the doors, heading for the Rawlinswood. It seems he's used all the time he had to spare.
Albry, standing back towards the Great Hall doors for the time being, pulls Jerrick aside and lowers her voice, conversing quietly a few moments before Jerrick takes his leave. She then goes about in search for Ronan.

Do not seek to use such terms with me boy, I hath bled for these lands for years. I say this not in pride, but in truth and with honour. A way in which thou hath not acted this day.
Seek to decry my god and my loyalty and duty to him and though art sorely mistaken, if thou cannot see the folly in presence of the yuan-ti, then thou art a fool.
So either take the challenge or close thine mewling mouth.
