Brother Commerz

Brother Commerz was born into a moderately-sized gnomish family, he was the eldest brother of 9 children. The gnomish community was less than a day's walk from Crimmor and nearly 3 days walk to Esmeltaran. He grew up watching the caravans of goods come and go, talking to travellers and merchants as they passed by the gnomish village. His parents were herders and traders; mostly dealing in fresh lamb, mutton, wool, goat-meat and goat cheese. During his teenage years, he encountered a pilgrim of Waukeen going to Athkatla on the road by his village. The pilgrim came into the village and found the quality of produce high and that goods, like bags, gloves, capes and other clothing were very good from this village. A shrine was built to Waukeen at the entrance to the village and this pilgrim established a business in Crimmor selling the gnomish goods. When he came of age, he travelled to Crimmor to study the teachings of Waukeen. He can speak Gnomish, Dwarven (which he learned from travellers), Common and Thorass (the official language of Amn).
He was a good student and his tutors saw him as both perceptive but also sensible. While not a revolutionary thinker, he approached matters from a farmer's perspective. He completed his training successfully and was awarded a silver holy symbol, to signify both his Amnish Status and his achievement.
After completing his training, Brother Commerz decided he would leave the settled places and head to frontiers where he could deliver Waukeen's blessings of trade, civilisation and prosperity. He has simple but clear views about Waukeen's benefits: health, good food, generous wealth, prosperity, comfort, security and status. His goal is to encourage trade and discourage things such as looting, raiding, pillaging, highway robbery and other effects that will cripple trade and travel.
He will willingly go to fight those beings and races that would raid, loot, harass or kill merchants, travelers and trade caravans. They hurt trade and limit the expression of Waukeen's blessings. For that reason he dislikes goblins and orcs; they harass and attack merchants.
Brother Commerz has not really considered settling down, and would not really consider it unless he had found a good gnomish woman who could help him run a business and have a moderate sized gnomish family. He wants to have at least 6 children.
