Elemmire's tales.

  • -A fairy tale-

Once upon a time, two Elves fell in love. They both were mages and knowledge was their guide.Andelle and Quenshire.Soon they showed their dreams to each other by wishing to live together eternally with many children.

Andelle was known among her people for her talent in using arcane powers. For this, many siblings liked her and even more hated her….She saw through their intentions,so she kept a low profile. She never liked the idea of being gifted and targeted. And that was how she kept on living.

Quenshire, was fearless.A powerful sorceror who never went back on his words when he was right,no matter how many he had to fight with. But that was his weakness...Once,leading his team in defending his hometown against more than they could handle resulted in killing them all. That drove him crazy, directing him to his superiors blaming them for plot.An all out accusation! The hunting soon started,he was the prey..Barely living,he managed to disappear, being an exile thereafter.

But that period was when Andelle gave birth to a child also.A blonde and skinny boy. One day as she was spending time with her lovely son,she came up with the name that would guided his heart.Elemmire that is,as she noticed that the kid used to calm, when it was touching the amulet she always wore.

A glittering silver amulet that she found yeas ago in a forest near her village. The amulet had so strong source of light, that everyone believed the myth that it was taken, stolen maybe from a fallen star. And for that reason the amulet was called Elemmire.

<e>And that will be your name my love.Elemmire.Like stars.Yes,yes you are my star after all...right? ::she said with a happy smile::

She started teaching him what she knew about magic and also made him keep his temper in all kind of conditions, and thinking clearly no matter what the other's opinion would be.Her purpose was to protect him from the same fate his father had...

Years passed in piece and Elemmire showed his potential in magic, though it was a result of him studying. Not much but methodic. He was an excellent student, learning with an obvious hunger for arcanist, something that made him progress fast and become the favorite of his masters. But being in the center of attention many times can be a two bladed sword, never know when it will hurt him.But his love for magic made him persistent to evolve even more. And that had his mother concerned as she was in the same situation before...

Many years after Andelle started having visions.A power that comes, only rare at times, through natural gift.Though the visions was not what she would like to see... The boy would die!The murderer unknown.Only appeared in form of shadow in her visions...

Was just dreams or warning, time will reveal...</e>

  • -Reaching Narfell-

    And so his journey began.

Having some potions of invisibility in stock, and additionally some food and water, he sneaked through the shadows and reached his destination. It wasn’t easy to gain entrance in the Candlekeep as there were some procedures to be accepted in the library. But through effort he made it in.

There, he stayed for a month searching for books and scrolls that could give him a solution to release his curse. The result was interesting. Being able to understand a fair number of languages, he found the proper bless for it, but it was written in dracolish. Translate and write down the bless was the first step. Furthermore, he also searched for scrolls of spells, including necromancy. That could protect him against Them, when the time would come… He knew that so he learned what he could and left. No time to lose, no time to risk…

Full of confidence, through the sword coast, he reached Cormyr’s port. There with a mask and a hood he found on his way, dressed like an old man and got in the ship. The rest was left on luck. Or not…

After a long travel he finally reached Narfell. Arrived at a farmer’s town. Norwick the name and mostly a village compared to his hometown. But he liked it. It was somehow piecefully. There he saw some people but he found it difficult to find help. His curse made him look suspicious and creepy, and many wouldn’t trust him. Fair enough but time was against him.

Finally a couple of sharp eyes saw through the mask and tried to know him better. She was hanging with him, whenever he was walking around the town, showing him the Land and giving advices. Finally Elemmire had a chance to boost his hopes of releasing the curse. Shortly after, he started interacting with people, asking for clerics who can help, and trying to gain trust from others.

But still hiding his face… Danger was still luring. He knew it and couldn’t risk to expose himself.

  • -Leaving Tethyr-

Elemmire finally had a chance to set things in place. It wouldn’t be easy, in fact many would call it crazy, but possible.A bug travelling from one side to another and back to prevent a war? Crazy. But it was possible! That’s what his mother taught him above all. To never give up on his dreams.

With this in mind he looked far straight in confidence, and wishing luck to his savior, he started his journey. Travelling east of Amn, through the Snakewood and further through the Greenfields, he would avoid the Trolls and the Giants lairs, and by some luck he would stick on the Trader’s road, arriving safely at the Cormyr’s port to take the ship and reach Narfell.

A quite clear choise to take. But there was another thing he knew he could use in his advantage…Risky, but it could prove his biggest weapon.During his studies,he heard accidentally from his masters about a place of great knowledge. He had to find it. He had to find the Way of the Lion…a name given to the path that leads from the Coast Way to Candlekeep.

Candlekeep is said to be a many towered fortress library that stands on a crag, looking down upon the Sea of Swords. The library is filled with books and scrolls of knowledge. To gain entry to the halls of wisdom, a visitor must gift the library collection with a new tome of immense value. At least that’s what he heard of…And with knowledge he could become stronger. Knowledge was his way of life anyway.

So he decided to get there. It would be risky as he had to avoid Eldreth Veluuthra. The worst beast that a traveler, especially one with a serious reason, could encounter.

Velluthra , an Elven organization with main to goal to extinguish every human from the Land,or whatever get in their way to prevent them. This including HalfElves and Elves who were against their methods. But his own reason was above all, above fear…He couldn’t go back. And death was accepted. If it would happen…

  • -Maturation-

Years passed, with Elemmire living his life peacefully.

    But…

Inside him,he was always feeling sad without having his father close to him.He knew what happened to him,his mother had already told him the facts without knowing the reason also years ago.And it was his secret. He always shown to the others his happiness and his joy.

Until one day...As he was sitting under a tree, leaning back to it with his arms crossed behind his head,he was thinking, just thinking.

    “But what really happened?”

And that was the end of his life as he knew it...The next day,he entered the Crimson eye’s centrals. An order of Arcanists protecting the city’s borders, without interfering to the Military’s methods or depending on Politicians. They were acting on their own after gathering the appropiate information. But,that was sometimes a bother for the political community.

They couldn’t act free, with all the benefits that could bring...

Elemmire soon after a careful research in the Order’s building,or whatever left of it started investigating his father’s exile from the city’s historic library through the Militia’s quarters. He had a way to get in without attract any attention so he had a wide range of information to gather. After some months of big effort,he had the puzzle completed. An obvious, but covered, plot against his father.

The fact: Militia wanted the Crimson eyes out of their way,so the Headsmen of the town could turn the economical balance against the citizens, and eventually gather enough gold to buy military equipment and attack against other nearby big Elven cities!Expending their influence that is.A greedy reason.

But the Crimson eyes had also gathered the same information,But with a traitor inside them, they followed blindly the obvious path.Of defeating and stopping the politician Elder‘s plans. But that was a trap.A well set trap that was planned by their own traditional methods...

The result was expected. The Crimson Order was defeated, most of the member were killed and only one left alive.Quenshire...No luck,no skills. It was on purpose. He would seem like a traitor who planned to take over as the Order‘s head and by defeating the arcanists, the Politicians and Militia would appeared as the saviors.

Soon after,Elemmire was a suspect of digging things he shouldn’t have.Rumours spread soon from house to house and he was forced to hide, disappear as his father did.But it was already late.A net of human eyes was already on him.So they found him easily. His mother not able to stop the horde of them, was captured in a battle against them and with her,Elemmire also...

Being in prison for a week or so,was a state that changed his life from there on. The Elders couldn’t kill him because it would be an obvious murder with a result of the whole community blaming them, and that would destroy their whole effort. But!They forced to him to take a vow, with his blood, cursing him...To never speak again.Or else they would kill his mother. He couldn’t lose another parent, the only person that cared for him. That made him what he is.So he took the vow...

One year after,an old friend of him,a smart and ghostly hin, managed to take him out and lead him to freedom. But not his mother also...He advised him to travel to Narfell. That there are some places and people there who would help him release the curse. And maybe help him prevent what his father was trying too...
