Tavern Rumors of Peltarch

  • Tibido Tyrnannia slides over to a table that Mepholus the Magnificant sits. He places two large mugs of ale, slips one over to Meph, and eases himself into a free seat opposite of him. He grins friendily, but slyly: "I hear you've got yourself quite the spider trophy, Mister Magnificant. I'd love to hear how you got it." Tibido chats with him to try and figure out where the 'source of wealth' is.

((OOC: We can meet up in game rather than clut this thread if you prefer, Meph.))

  • Rumors tell of new adventurer in city. Apparently he is known as Mepholus the Magnificient and has been spending lots of gold in taverns, bragging of the gigantic spider of the woods that was slain by himself alone. To prove his words he shows a huge spider leg as a proof. He also claims that the nest provided to be quite a source of wealth both in coins and in useful items.

  • An undead monster was rumored to have been hunting those who would hunt orcs. Rumors of it being linked to a Peltarch women also were spoken throughout the last few nights.

  • _Rumours spread that every person in Peltarch mysteriously had a plate of turkey, stuffing, potatoes and gravy appear in front of them one evening. There is also a sense of peace all over the city, the sick suddenly getting well, those with worries suddenly forgetting them, like a burden was removed from them.

In the commons, lights shine and white stags and ethereal bunnies run around merrily, a goblin snowman positioned by a never ending keg of hot wine. The blessing of the god-child Leanna was seen by most of the city before the nights end, as she appears to them and hands out presents for the Winter Solstice. The next few days after, there is no rain, white fluffy snow covering the Commerce District instead._

  • Word spreads that visitors are being allowed in to see the prisoners of the Three Legged Mule incident now, by order of Magistrate Borodin.

  • Marshal thanks the guard for the quick response that yes in fact the Oscuran Noble Vladimir Kursk is being held, by order of the Magistrate Vlana Borodin and is seen quickly leaving the guard at the gaol. He makes no attempts to enter the jail aside from speaking with the guard. He is seen leaving Peltarch via boat later that day, a broad smile on his face and now more easily approached and by the look in a much better mood…

  • It is made known that Vladimir Kursk is being held within the prison, visitors are being denied by order of Magistrate Vlana Borodin. Any who attempt to go in the prison to see him, or those who are involved in his possible crimes, are turned back immediately.

  • Rumors spread about a fight in Three Legged Mule tavern. Apparently four people were escorted to the jail and corpse of one unlucky was carried out of there by the city guards.

  • Rumors speak of a small group of adventurers heading into the swamp - and not all of them returning home. Of course, it might even be more odd that someone has been going about town asking for Chessentan - which could mean that they are confused about the geography, or just raving mad.

  • Rasuil is also overheard muttering about petty theft in the Inn, saying "He didn't get away with much, but someone else might not be so lucky."

  • Rumor spreads that a thief in red robes and dark cloack has been picking pockets in the rest rooms of the Inn…

  • PM sent

  • Petty thievery has risen dramatically in the last season, at its worst in the Docks District, though everywhere pickpockets target vulnerable coinpurses, light-handed wretches whip sundries from the stands of merchants and there are even more reports of minor break-ins in the Commerce District. All over town the wealthy purchase shiny new locks, sold with promises of magical proof against picking, merchants buy safes to store their earnings in and traps to brutalize any thief who tries to crack them. The non-human populace, halflings in particular, are eyed with suspicion by the rest, hands covering purses when any of the short folk pass within an arm's length. Men and women in taverns and behind closed doors ruminate over the reasons behind this rise in petty crimes, some saying that a Guard Captain has been bribed to turn a blind eye for a few months, others saying it was a gradual process, others still claim the city's ne'er do wells have finally banded together into a Thieves Guild.
