Foul weather

Telli watches from the distance sighing audibly as steam billows from her nostrils into the chilled air. Once she catches the familiar Z walking off towards the crafting hall she waddles after him to offer aid handing out supplies and offering blessings to those homes they stop by, attempting to bolster Chauntea's grace further. Much jubilation is felt as more food is plucked from the fridged climates each day. One might speculate just how many more crops will survive this winter rush before the cold claims the crops for the season. To any concerned farmers, children, or passerby Telli's quick to smile and mutter the following.
"Wull spread it out so it'll lasts… don'ts yuh folks worry... wull be smartedededs and store whats we can fer how longededs we cans... wull starts jarrings and preservings whats we cans toos so we gottededs somes a dese boons a Chauntea in da late winter months!

Member ta stoppedededs by da storehouses each mornings fer yuhs supplies fer da days okee..."
The following morning Telli stretches as she rises just before daybreak. Knowing the long day at hand she waddles across Norwicks dirt roads to the storehouse set up by Dwin and drags along her Legionaries whom accompanied her there. As the two work with those provided by Dwin and ultimately Norwick at the enterance. Telli waddles into the back and sighs as she looks at the small portions harvested so far. She begins whispering blessings to Chauntea as she stuffs simple carrots and peas and cabbage into crates along with other mundane vegetables and a few fruits as well.
@896841083e:
Create Food and Water
Conjuration (Creation)
Level: Clr 3
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Effect: Food and water to sustain three humans or one horse/level for 24 hours
Duration: 24 hours; see text
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: NoThe food that this spell creates is simple fare of your choice—highly nourishing, if rather bland. Food so created decays and becomes inedible within 24 hours, although it can be kept fresh for another 24 hours by casting a purify food and drink spell on it. The water created by this spell is just like clean rain water, and it doesn’t go bad as the food does.
As Telli waddles out to hand the crates to one of the Legionaires or Norwick guards lending aid, she's quick to remind them to let each family needing a crate to know the following.
_"Somes a da crops ain't do so goods in dis weader so… makededs sures yuhs heed Telli's advice froms afore eh? Juss takedededs whatcha needededs ta feed yer house and yer house alones okee... and eats everytings yuhs takedededs... don'ts be wastefuls nows... will deny da food ta some'un dats needededs its... if der little bit dats not finishedededs... dumps da remainders in da trash. Buh...try eat all yuh cans... when nights comedededs and afore yuhs go ta bed... dump whatcha gots lefts in da trash....and comededes backs ta da Storehouse fer yuh next mornings batch.
Telli repeats this job each day for the next following weeks. Blessings of food to provide for the day and the rest of the days spent jarring and storing the fresh crops they were able to pluck so far from the fridged ground.
((I'll check next time I'm in game, but Telli can cast create food several times I believe to a total of 259 people fed in a day through this method. I'll strip any spells from my 3rd circle selections for a while… They should be blank and any DM's are welcome to check my spell selections if they can to make sure my spells match my posting here.))_

_Oddly enough, few of the commoners seem in a mood to praise the cold. Meye's oration gets a few dark looks and some muttering, particularly among the farmers.
Others seem rather frightened and willing to praise Auril if that's what it takes to get the weather to improve.
Rumor now begins to swirl that the current downturn is the result of an elf setting fire to an Aurilite church and burning the priests alive. Some dismiss this as exaggeration or myth, others say they heard it confirmed by someone who knew someone who was there. Regardless, some of the locals are now starting to give elves unfriendly looks in the street as they hurry through the chill air._
-
After his delivery, Z is seen heading towards the Great Hall to request a one-on-one meeting with the Chancellor.
-
Z shakes his head and says nothing, but it is evident that he does not approve of the Aurilian priestess or her words.
I been away far too long…
He heads to the Norwick craft hall and comes out with several crates and large bags. After loading a large cart with the goods, he's seen whispering a quiet prayer over the cart and goods before shoving off towards the Norwick farmlands.
((Goods crafted by Z and Belia over the past week or so. Stored in the Norwick "excess tool bin" for Lager (or any DM).
94 food (mostly winter wolf meat)
135 pieces of coal12 winter wolf boots (+1 save vs cold)
10 winter wolf cloaks(+1 save vs cold)
16 winter wolf tunics (+1 save vs cold)
39 pairs of gloves))Z goes from farm to farm delivering the goods to needy families, offering prayers, healing, and Chauntean blessings.
///I'm continuing to add goods to the "tool bin". Rather than spamming the thread with more posts, I'm editing this post to until the goods are collected by a DM.

The Chancellor watches the Aurilian speeches and retorts closely, flanked by several guards. Though he says nothing, he seems to show more displeasure when people speak against the Aurilite allies, than those who speak favorably.
-
A disgruntled Wog stands quietly while Meye speaks with a few of the Kelemvorites before muttering to them, those close by here..
"Yeah.. That makes sense, lets praise the god thats ruining Norwicks food supply, crops, peoples lives… Why not invite the Banites and Sharens here to, they can join in with here"
-
Meye Spark has seemed to be missing for bit over week when she arrives back to town from the south. With her, Meye brings the willing Aurilians who have been camping by the cave, gathers together the Aurilians who have arrived to Norwick and has a speech for them
My companions in faith!
I calleth thee in name of Saukuruk!
In name of the Icedawn!
In name of the Auril!
Truly are we blessed now with cold, and praised should be Her name as source for all the ice She truly is!
Lets her eyes wander in audience - trying to reach eye contact with as many as possible
Praised be Her name and ice that purifies!
But for now we also need to remember that it is our enemy whom uses Her cold and ice against this town. Against this town that has turned to beg Her help by starting to build Her a shrine.
We praise this cold that originates from Her might, but as it is used by our enemy, we shalle not let it harm our allies. Thy areth to not fight against cold, and She does not care of fields or animals blessed by Chauntea, not if they liveth or die. She cares of the people of Norwick whom turned to Her in this war. She cares for protectors of this town.
Thee haveth answered to Her call, which truly is mightiest of the call.
Thee haveth answered for breeze of winter, cometh for the ice that purifies! Let the ice purify, but also keep our allies safe from it.
Each and everyone of yhee knows more of the cold and ice than others in nearby lands. Let us take that as our advantage. Let us protect the people of this town from harm caused by Her might that our enemies are trying to use on their side now.
Let us praise the cold that has arrived! Let us praise it!
But let us ensure it does not harm those whom fight on our side.
All of thee areth to act, each and everyone. All of thee whom claim to be faithful for Her.
After that Meye can be seen to leave by the both gates, going through guards on duty and offering them blessings of Auril to keep them safe from the cold. She also seems to expect other Aurilians join her in these duties by any means they are capable of.
(( take 10 with persuade for NPCs, should give persuade check of 30))
-
_Over the past week it has grown steadily, and noticeably colder. Houses develop odd chinks and drafts, and those animals who stray out of the Chauntea-sanctified areas are found frozen to death in the morning.
Three citizens die of exposure, and several guards with night shifts are forced to report to Tristina to have frostbite healed.
There is much speculation about what could have caused the sudden drop, and many prayers to numerous gods that things will improve, or at least not continue to get worse._
-
Dwin nods to Devlin and points at the Grey Blades
See that they are used well, they have good blade-skills and should be used to guard the gates.
-
::The Grey Blade soldiers stand at attention outside the Great Hall, obviously waiting for Dwin to give them orders::
-
_Armour can be heard clanging up & down the streets of Norwick. Grumbles might also be heard to accommodate. Pugor Henken, Private of the Troff Legion, walks up & down the roads, mumbling to himself about the current inactivity.
It's never his way to question the orders of his superiors…and he would never act without their guidance. But on many a night, Private Henken can be seen sitting near the campfire, angrily sharpening his favored greataxe.
"Hrrr.....cain't wait t' smash some bugbear skulls....."
After being given orders from his superior officers, Pugor stands, ever vigilant, itching for the chance to blunt the blade of his axe, just for the joy of cleaning & sharpening it again._
-
The long lasting figure of grey that once stood upon the southern watchtower for impossibly long periods of time and remain unmoved as though carved in stone, has disappeared. As night fell on Norwick and the region entered the black hours of night Yngdír left. Perhaps no-one watched him leave to see him swallowed by the darkness as though by magic, perhaps he will not be missed. In his usual fashion he said few words before his departure, except to General Lyte of the Legion - with whom he had exchanged some Elven words.
-
Belma'r has paused his adventuring to stay and be ready to defend norwick. No more trips to the Underdark or even Peltarch. The only place he will go is to attack the gohst woods or the Bugbear camp with the elven banshees. He's always on hand for the attacks of the mist killing what he can to protect his longtime home.
-
_Goblin Assassins are not the only ones to prowl the mists, sometimes on these nights, a longer shadow detaches itself from the wall. It envelopes these creatures, whispering the same message into their corrupted ears as it drags its blade across their throats._
"Know this, even Gods can die, and one day you too will feel a blade upon your throat"
_Sometimes Scout Brendel will quietly slide into the grapevine, with blue lips and tattered clothing; only staying long enough to swallow some Hot Tea and disappear through the Back Door_
-
_A Peltarch senator seems to make frequent visits to Norwick. None other than Ronan Redralen, whom also seems to be a knight in the Repose.
He spends his time in the most foggiest of areas during his visits. Casting detect magics, and occasionally tossing several dispels into the mist, hoping it would clear it away, even if for a short time. If his dispels fail, he stays nearby to help combat whatever comes from the mist using his rather flashy fire spells that seem to only harm his intended target and nothing else. Though when the undead are more numerous, he mutters a spell that is the flashiest of them all… beams of light striking the undead, destroying them where they stand. To anyone who asks, he nicknames the spell "The spell of the Repose." To anyone whom has seen him cast it, it is known as undeath to death.
When reports of assassinations reach his ears, he helps the guards in their chase by polymorphing into an umberhulk, of course warning them before he does transform so no one gets... trigger happy. He only helps should the guards accept it, since the form can cause alarm.
After all that though, he does frequently become exausted, and lets his fellow Repose fill in for him when he returns to Peltarch. This seems to be a routine for him ever since the mist started appearing.._

@e80fc15280=Clan:
- You can gather with Telli, the Mighty Chauntean Priestess at her Shrine. We are lucky–and blessed-- to have faithful folks like Telli, Wog of the Kelemvorites, and even some Priests of Lathander with us. Listen to them! Follow their words and light! They are here to help lead us through these dark days and give us the strength to face our troubles!
Z will spend his time near the shrine. :zen:
///Sorry my busy RL is messing up my involvement in this plot. I should be around a little more starting next week. :ninja:

-
Telli's spells seem quite effective at driving away the mist. For several hours anyway.
-
Dwin looks down at Caelian and makes a gesture of thanks with his hands
My apologies to you and the rest of the Circle for not having named you as well.
Everyone, please know that our neighbors, the Druids of the Circle, are likewise working tirelessly against these foes as well, and many new levels of cooperation have been forged between us. We all look forward to the fruits of these new, or reformed friendships when this is all over with!
-
Caelian nods at the words Dwin speaks
Well put, Chancellor. The Circle is doing what it can as well to aid in this time of need.
-
The Chancellor speaks to anyone that will listen from the fire in the center of Norwick-town.
Friends and Neighbors of Norwick! Listen to my words… I will not keep you long, I promise.
We have once again found ourselves threatened by various evils beyond our gates he makes a sweeping motion to the south. May of you gray-beards will remember the old-town and a similar evil mist that warped its ways into our realm. I will not lie... this is just as dangerous!
I beseech you al to stay indoors when the mists come! If any of you would feel safer, we have several other options available:
-
you can come here to the Great Hall. We all gathered here last time the mists were upon us, and those that did were saved. In the old days, this is where all Norwick people came in times of trouble... and nothing is different now.
-
You can gather with Telli, the Mighty Chauntean Priestess at her Shrine. We are lucky--and blessed-- to have faithful folks like Telli, Wog of the Kelemvorites, and even some Priests of Lathander with us. Listen to them! Follow their words and light! They are here to help lead us through these dark days and give us the strength to face our troubles!
-
You are all also welcome to move to the Dwarven Hold. Our neighbors--my kin-- have discussed this matter and are opening their gates to any Norwick-folks that need shelter. Know that they, too, are part of this realm, and that we are all in this together. Their supplies are not bottomless, nor are anyone's, so bring what you can with you should you choose to seek shelter.
I can assure you all that we are doing everything we can to combat these foes, and I feel that a victory--through various alliances-- is close at hand! What we need from all of you is strength of heart and mind... and of course... anyone that can wield a blade or axe should do their duty and help the Militia in this time!
Know that there is a shrine to the Ice-Queen, Auril, being built south of the lake. I know that we all pray to Auril to keep the frosts off of our food-stuffs and to be kind to our animals. Thus, we must in kind respect her shrine and not desecrate it in any fashion. In return, her faithful have promised their help against this wretched Hungry One... who mis-ues the very cold winds that She herself has created. People of Norwick... know that allies and friends can often be found in odd places!
Keep close to your loved ones, stay warm, and stay inside during the misty-times. Come gather in the warmth of the Halls or the Dwarven Hold, or the other places mentioned should you choose. We will triumph over these threats as we always do, and we will once again grow and prosper as we are accustomed!
