Tavern Rumors of Peltarch

  • _A recent disturbance in the Docks district has lead to a small residential house being sealed off by the guard, it's windowpanes smeared with blood on the inside. Rumours speak of terrible screaming from inside, the investigating guards retreating with grievous wounds before Captain Fortesque himself entered the house, flanked by Cerulean Knight Lycka and Oghman priest Terren. Whatever evil lurked inside, the trio seems to have dealt with swiftly, stepping back outside with grim expressions.

Furthermore, tragedy seems to have struck one of the staff at the Mermaid, the more sinister of rumours claiming the woman in question was brutally mutilated and delivered to the inn in bloodied chunks. Whatever the truth may be, there is no doubt that the incident has left the remaining staff rattled._

  • _Marie has been seen going to visit Benji, bringing him paper and charcoal so that he can continue to work on plans whilst imprisoned.

Gotta give a gnome… err... hin something to do, right?_

_Benji finds himself in jail after playing a prank on Devlin of the Norwick Militia. Rumor has it the charge is a lesser assault charge for use of a 'Gnomish Pranking Device.'

Benji seems to be in good spirits as he receives a few visitors.

Rumor has it he's even in the market for another set of Gnomish Hand Zappers or any equally funny gnomish gag._

Senator Martoushca Leaffall returns from her "diplomatic" voyage to Karatur dressed in a kimino and other "Eastern" accessories. She even hands out a good number of souvenirs*. Anyone spotting her at meal time would even catch her having a go at eating with a pair of sticks.

*Cheap nasty crap of no real use.

  • _Rumours spread about exact look-alikes of known citizens and adventurers cropping up of late, causing much confusion regarding true identity. Though some might attribute this to the whimsy of self-proclaimed god-child Leanna, others give the phenomenon a darker, more sinister name - doppelgangers.

Also, at the Lucky Ferret Inn, a ruckus of some sort seems to have occurred as Captain Fortesque could be observed entering and leaving the building, four or five guardsmen in tow. A short while later, a group of Black Sails exited, carrying the still form of barmaid Claire off towards the ferry to Oscura._

  • _* The waitresses at the Inn are overheard talking about a certain Senator who, though usually cheery with them is now one of quiet contemplation.

He is seen walking out the western gates and talking with the gaurds then returning to the Sentate unless having a meal at the inn or visiting the home of Eli and seems only to smile any longer when having a moment or two to play with her children. *_

  • There seemed to be some sort of disturbance at the College, what exactly it was is unknown, but almost a dozen bodies were taken to the Temple and carts of stone were hauled out and dumped into the Lake

  • After a long and mostly unexplained absence, Sir Aeadan has returned to the city. He is seen regularly in the poorer parts of the docks, where he offers aid and blessings to those most in need, and performs the ritual known as Torm's Table with any who are willing.

  • Albry has been seen traveling to Peltarch on a more regular basis than normal, which most of her time there is spent with Aelthas and Lycka when she can find them

  • ((A little late, but better than never))

_An attempt again was made on Senator Redralen's life. The assassin attacking the senator right in the middle of the commons. With the help of those nearby, those being Terren and Belia, the senator's life was saved.

The assassin was chased out of the Peltarch through the southern gate. The three left to persue him, and returned sometime later, all alive. The senator himself, however, looked a tad disturbed by it all._

  • _Edwards few almost became edwards none so the stories tell. The brave group of adventurers led by the loudmouthed but swift tongued Edward faced off against the cunning of the kobolds. It started as an easy enough trip through the swamps until Hirst was attacked by a stealthy kobold and as he chased after it it led him into a myrid of traps. The kobold led the to a cave and the group was hesitant to go in. Rolo's pixie familiar disarmed the traps in front of the entrance while Hirst checked to see if the coast was clear.

After facing the crafty kobold one more time, and getting hit by a few traps it fled deeper into the cave badly wounded. The group bravely went ahead, not wanting another group of adventurers to fall to the dastardly traps. They ran into some strong resistance and the kobolds almost fell Hirst in one mighty blow as he was held, but thanks to the healing power provided by lady Rowan he survived.

After the near death experience the group headed for the safety of Peltarch lamenting that they did not get the trap setting kobold, but confident they had given him quite the scare._

  • Words are that the Sharessan priestess Silmiel will asist training any young adventurer who shows litle respect.

She was seen giving blessings and leaving with some on a few occasions.

  • _Wild rumours fly around about an epic duel fought right in the middle of the commons! Elidur versus Pitiful Patrick the Pennywhistler –- if that 'is' his real name, at least that's what Elidur dubbed the Defender-ish sort. Most people cheered Elidur in the crowd, said to have been playing his usual strings. The Defender had an Elven horn of some design - which was impressively tooted on.

Rumour has it that Professor Elidur knocked one of the female onlookers out simply by winking at her! It's said she didn't again rise to her feet until long after the duel was done, and that the bard went about signing his autograph on the chests of eager women afterwards! Oh my!_

  • Caric Shakes his head hearing of the inscident with Belia and Arna clenches his fists and mutters about ungreatfullness.

  • belia was seen storming out of pelt after her companion was attack when she brought her inside, as she head to the docks to leave she was muttering in druidic

A man dressed in robes of the deepest black and a cowl to match is rumored to have walked into the Temple of the Triad and stared at the altars for the better part of a day. After hours of staring, he dropped a single long stemmed rose on the ground and walked from the temple.

  • Perhaps one of the stranger tales of the day, Elidur Ginen - one of the local bards was said to have been running around Peltarch with a burdened trolly. He visited most of the Inns buying up small portions of each meal, and buying only the finer wines from their list.

Then again, it's just as likely that nobody even bat an eyelash at the curious display, from the curious Elf.

  • _To the possible rejoice of school children enrolled at the Makere School of Fine Arts at the Peltarch Theatre, all classes were cancelled for the day as a strange phenomenon caused everyone within the large building to fall into a deep, magical slumber. Any investigative effort by the guards was thwarted by the effect, until the Cerulean Knights Lycka and Celebring arrived at the scene, alongside skilled mages Senator Redralen and Linn, Guardswoman Yana, Defenders Aelthas and Adelie and a small host of other capable and concerned aidees.

After deliberating, a small party ventured inside, spells protecting them from the dizzying sleep. Eerie rumours speak of the Theatre turning into a haunted house of horrors, with ghosts floating on the stage and rafters in ghoulish silence, yet in the end, the party returned safe and sound, all unwelcome guests ushered from the building. Notably, an unconscious and pale Master Eowiel was seen carried off towards the temple of the Triad by Senator Redralen, while none other than the scandalous Rhyla Featherdown sauntered outside with the rest of the rescue party._

  • What began as a pleasant, crowded day at the commons, filled with light conversation and music by Lycka and Terry, abruptly ended by the arrival of a pale and sick man, dressed in rags. The man stumbled forwards with a half-choked plea for help, before collapsing to the ground. Horrific rumours then state that a giant, birdlike creature burst forth from inside the man, ripping him to pieces and attacking the gathered crowd. No further casualties are reported aside from the mysterious stranger, whose steps were traced to the south by an investigative party assembled from the crowd.

  • _The names of those who are reputed to have aided in bringing the blessed shroud of Ilmater to the City are being spoken of all over, whose miraculous powers are being hailed as the divine intervention in protecting Peltarch. None, however, are spoken more frequently nor more reverentially than that of Senator Mariston Thel's, of whom the tales are fast growing out of proportion.

Men speak of Mariston arriving from the east, the Shroud billowing in his hands, the light of the dawn shilloutting him, and striding through the city, bringing relief from sickness to all who looked upon his benign countenance. Others speak of how he led the band of heroes to the east and found a place of such suffering from plague, that he fell to his knees, shedding a single tear, and a beggar dying of the plague, who was in truth the Lord of Mercy, Ilmater himself, handed him the shroud for his empathy.

Though the Senator himself has spoken of the event only in light of praising those brave men and women who accompanied him, his modesty has done little to assuage the ever more fanciful tales of his miraculous deeds in defeating the plague._
