((OOC: This is great forum RP. Has me really tied in and thinking from a former DM point of view, how many ways this can go. I am having as much fun with this as with the posts about introducing some dwarven lore into the forums when the dwarven hold was being built. I am enjoying this exchange as much as anything IG. Truely shows that D&D and Narfell are viable outside of the game platform itself.. claps or COL [claps out loud] ))

*Telli stood there shaking her head watching Foilir walk off a brooding festering boil of a bigot dwarf. The words she heard last from him echoing in her ears “Actions speak louder then words” and with those words her whole demeanor changed. A grin started to etch across her beardless face with the remnants of burnt marks adorning the canvas of her chin. Foilir was right… actions not words. Just like Diet had always told her and now Foilir validated and for once she could smile. She won… because in the end, Foilir was nothing more then a dwarf with words and no actions in Telli’s eyes. The fact he helped build the temple within the Hold meant nothing to her because after all… when it was completed he left. He didn’t stick around to defend it, hadn’t stuck around to honor it and in the end Telli knew she was the better of the two because of it.
If being like Foilir meant having no friends and hating every race but her own she was glad to turn her back on him. She continued to shake her head as the dwarf walked off, his actions speaking volumes to her that day. He chose to sulk north in his own bile and discontent rather then head south to defend the town from the nightly attacks. She waved a dismissive hand as he ventured north and out of sight. Her smile was short-lived though as an unsettling tension engulfed the depths of her gullet. She knew the day Foilir and Telli finally delivered blows would be a fight like none she’d ever experienced. Devlin’s words crept into her mind some as she gazed north…”One things certain miss Telli… if yuh do fight Foilir, be prepared… I’ve seen him fight and he’s capable.”
“Yuh seen Telli fights afore too Mr Devvy…who’d win if we both scraped?”
”Honestly miss Telli… I don’t know… I… don’t know.”
Telli inhaled through her nostrils contemplating how a fight with one of her own kin would play out and how things in the Hold would forever be changed because of it. Though she certain she would be the victor, whether she’d be able to bring herself to killing one of her own she wrestled with for some moments until an audible exhale was heard by those around her.*

- Foilir simple yawns at the blatherings of the waddling dwarf, unimpressed with her tale of "lore".
As he stares at her, tuning out the sounds of her grating voice, he forms a picture of her in his mind.
She starts to resemble an ox with a giant brass ring through her nose. He tries to suppress a smile as he imagines the elven general walking up to Telli and grabbing hold of the brass ring and pulling her about.
The smile simply fades back into his bored expression, as his mental image shows the "ox" simply bowing to its "master", following broken and humiliated. Its fate dictated to it on a daily basis. The ox simply accepting what it is told, ignoring years of pride built by its herd and clan.
Awakening from his daydream, and realizing that Telli is still speaking, he grunts with annoyance. *
Did yeh nae say yeh had somewheres teh go? Cuss now yeh is offendin me ears along with subjectin me eyes to the torture of watchin yeh walk all unnatural like, as if yeh had been mounted by a halfer…
- Shoos her off like he did the Legionaires with the ore and wood *
<d>Tossing around the names of my cousin and kin like Krig is not going to get you anywhere... Considering you don't even realize you insult me, from the line of King Steelbrow says enough.. The fact you don't realize I help build that Temple with my own hands says more..
- Seeing she is going to talk forever he plants his staff and gets up to head towards the Dwarven Hold *
<d>Actions speak louder than words... You stand with elves, hins and halfers easier than you do with kin. Do us all a favor and shave your beard so you are assumed to be a tall halfling as opposed to being mistaken for a dwarf.
- With his final words he moves with authority towards the hold, shaking his head at being lectured by such a broken and dominated dwarf. The "Rornsamman" seems to be growing weary of seeing how divided the dwarves have become in these lands and seems to be on a path to bring a resolution to it all *</d></d>

((Seemed like a better place to post a reply then to clutter up the whispers by the fire section.))
@ad5590fbde=Herrold:
- Foilir looks around *
<d>Don't you have an Elf that you should be saluting? You are a disgrace to dwarven kind by entertaining that thought, much less willingly doing it..
- He spits on the ground *
<d>You are unworthy of the beard you wear.
- Motions to the Grak *
Apparently me compliment has set off a set of prejudices.. Me apologize for exposing you to this poor representation of dwarven kind..</d></d>
Telli sighs shaking her head at the dwarfs outburst and frustration.
<d>"Sad how far dwarf has fallens… speaks a tings knows next ta noffings abouts. Telli a disgrace and not worthy my arse...
Fought along sides Krig in da orcy wars…
Been halfway around da realm wid Maythor collectings all sorts a tings fer da Hold, fer Norwick, fer friends.
Defendededs da lands wid Dolinar, Fignar, and Kelinar…
Worked unda Vernon in peltarch and wid Bagnar and Sten ta kills hundreds a orcs in da orcy war.
Travelleds wid Dwin more den once and savededs his life froms a squad a grey kin…
Held lines next ta Dwalin, Farly, and Rugg'var neva givings a inch.
laughed wid Hignar, Branwen, Bitsy, and Glognar as we travelled in da cold up da mountains ta all our kin in da snowy caverns wid months a supplies.
Travelled da underdark and back wid Loogey ta keeps Norwicks safes froms foes seen and neva seens by da town.
Asked by Koirin ta stay in da Hold, ta guard it like Telli's own home… ta seek da spoils of our forgotten king Orcbane…ta git back his sceptre dats in da Hold wid his chair. Ta bring da spoils and honor a dwarves arounds da realm back inta kins hands agains...
And yuh.....Foilir preach ta Telli on da words a honor…and respects... yuhs tongue nottings buh bile and poison....
Telli bled along somes a da realms strongests and most respecteds...
Only dwarf Telli eva mets dat earned no respects froms Telli is yuh Foilir and dat whore Mercy…
Telli dusts her gauntlet hands together near the dwarf to indicate her symbolic snub to all he represents. Looking at Grak she frowns and shakes her head at Foilir once more.
<d>"Yuh... great company yuh gots ders kin... halfer who ain't gives a sod about anytings but himselfs.... dis da company yuh keep den Telli don't want noffings ta do wid yuh...Eva……
She stands there pissed at the thought another dwarf would disrespect her in the manner he has with such equality only surpassed by Mercy.</d></d>

- Foilir just watches the waddle, listens to the words and sighs.
As he watches this display he is reminded of the words a mother used to admonish her child a while back, who had been stung by a few bees.
"If you don't want to get stung don't go to the bees nest."
He just watches her waddle about, pulling on his beard pensively. The dark dwarf does not seem to be able to resolve in his mind, why one of his own kin feels more affinity for tallies, or answer to an elven general.
With a deep trouble sigh caused by yet another dwarf who has seem to have lost their way, he turns pensively towards the dwarven hold, his brow furrowing at the priests of Moradin who have sealed themselves into the caves he helped carve!
Looking back at Telli leaving, then back at the hold, he starts to place the blame with the priests and the council. It was the council that closed themselves off to the dwarves of this land! In the end could the dark dwarf blame Telli that she was made a wrong turn? She had no guidance!
What good is a gaggle of priests that lock themselves in caves and talk just among themselves?!!!?!
Looking back at Telli, was like looking at the dwarven way of life being corrupted, failing!
Talking orders from an ELF! The very thought made Foilir spitting mad, as demonstrated by his gnashing teeth.
The dark dwarf looked down at the Amn strapped at his side…. The axe of dwarven kings... Proof of his lineage to king Steelbrow...
He could not get into the hold for fark's sake.
Then another thought came over the dwarf. The shame that Telli's pa and clan would feel to see an elf command her about, barking orders to their offspring!
Then without the ability to stop himself he let's out a primal scream: *
NAAAAAE!
- Quickly composing himself, he pulls his cloak around him as he regathered his composure.
This will not stand!
The legendary dwarves that have walked this land will nae die off so swiftly.
Fark this legion for corrupting our kin! For making it acceptable to answer to an elf.... a halfer... The very thought seemed to drain the life from his face. If anyone had caught the look on the dwarf's face, it was the first concession that this battle "may" be lost.
But with the soft glow of the Amn catching his eye, his resolve returned!
No, those who will use his kin for their purposes whilst corrupting the dwarven way of life will not win.
Telli can serve as an example. The dwarven way of life is dying off. And those responsible are those locked in that cave!
Let your kin inside! Give them a home away from their homelands! Train them!
There is no greater defense to a town or spirit, nor a greater fear inspiring site than a line of dwarven defenders shields front and axes 'n ammers high.
Looking at Telli waddle off the vision in the dwarf's mind fades.
Softly he states: *
<d>Well there goes another one
- Sighing pensively he leans on his staff, walking off to his thoughts, his hand on the Amn to give him some life... some hope...
*</d>
