Tavern Rumors of Peltarch

There is some minor chatter about the crazy moonies sitting in the commons and calling down the moon by giving offerings up to their goddess. Those who witnessed the miricle basked in moonlight and said that the area was clensed and safe for the time being. But for how long?

A large man in black and red, with white trim is seen entering the city with a determined look on his face, he is overheard asking several guards and adventurers if they know where the local Magistrate can be found. After delivering a letter to the Town Hall he is overheard speaking with some adventurers about mercenary work.

Word is passed around the taverns and bars of Peltarch to be wary of anything on the pass that seems out of the ordinary, whether it be a supposed cart accident, bandit attack, or someone in trouble. There are thieves and cut-throats preying on the kind folk to fill their pockets.

A large group in armor set off from the commons to cull back rats, beetles, and undead which have become troublesome of late.
They returned two days later with tales of sighting a gnomish vampire and undead awaiting 'The Lord' in a disturbed family crypt.
What is it? A powerful necromancer? A vampiric Bloodlord? No one knows.
The trek left more questions then it answered. Was the group there simply to push back against the unquiet dead as they claim? Or are other reports about looting the tomb true?

A performance was held at the Ashald park a few nights ago, which according to the rumors made the young Gaerielle Silmarry accepted as a Master in the Bardic College.
The audiance, including adventurers and local celebrities as much as commoners and nobles, speak of a cheerful song and dance opening the performance at twilight, followed by a game of light and shadows underlining a very emotional song under the trees.Gaerielle has not been seen much out of the Theatre during the few following days, which for many suggests more work in progress and other performances to expect.
(( sorry for the late posting ))

A short and violent attack by spider looking beasts and skeletal dogs was fended off in the commons by the Artist and Author Elidur and a couple of others of less note. The young woman in black and gold was afterwards noted to have been muttering about one of the f**kers getting away though and for people to keep their eyes open.

With all the sudden tension around the city, it seems Ignismons Vets have been deployed to the southern walls to support Captain Del'Rosa. Captain Benthur is seen quietly conversing with the other officers as they stare south, increased patrols of heavily armored horsemen are sent out that go no further than the edge of Peltarch territory.. it seems the Defenders are moving to make sure that nothing spills over into or even near the city.. the men and women of the Defenders looking cautiously to the south and sharpening their weapons.. waiting for any word.

_Rumours from City Hall speculate that the Senate is in heated debate about the state of affairs in the Nars Pass. The word is that most of the Senators are extremely worried about the prospects of the Pass becoming hostile, and are advocating any means necessary to avoid any worsening of relations with the Camp folk in order to preserve the safety and prosperity of the City. Seemingly alone in his stance, the old soldier Kaster Lavindo is said to be staunchly opposed to any moves appeasing what he calls a resurgent band of despicable Eastlander bandits, and gossip-mongers go so far as to say he claimed he would offer his complete moral support to any band brave enough to bloody the nose of his old foes.
Popular opinion on the issue is sharply divided, with the vast majority of the Guilds, merchants and wealthier citizens and the nobility favouring the Senate, while the average common dockworkers and the poor, as well as the Peltarch Defenders, favour Lavindo. One thing is certain, news from the Nars Pass is keenly awaited by all ears…_

Rumors of a large militant group preparing for battle and setting up just north of the bridge in the Nars slowly filters into the various taverns of the city, people are unsure of the target of this large force, though several people are overheard saying the bandits will finally get what they deserve.

Cerulean Knight Lycka spreads the word to all daring-do travellers to use extra caution while entering the ogre caves near the Ice Lace beach. Apparantly a powerful necromancer priest and his numerous undead ogre cohorts were encountered there, leading to several casualties on the behalf of Lycka's party while the necromancer himself, a human-looking male, is still at large to cause further harm.

rumor has it that a man in bright blue garbs has been asking around for workers for unknown tasks!

_Those around the area of the commons yesterday would have seen a bald dwarf walk into the area, locate a certain hin, and advise her to buy seven bottles of whiskey. This done, the two departed for the docks and were seen going into the Lucky Ferret.
What went on there is anyone's guess, but the hin came out several hours later with a splitting headache and a strange look on her face._

_After a quick trial and a plea of guilty, the elf woman Arlinn was sentenced to death for the assault and attempted murder of Captain Fortescue. Arlinn being hung in front of City Hall and her body taken away for cremation at the morgue almost immediately after. Some say the new Magistrate is living up to her reputation as a Viper, her first trial resulting in a sentence of death.
Vlana herself was present for the execution, heading off into City Hall after the body was taken away, showing no emotion whatsoever. Captain Fortescue who was also there was seen shrugging slightly before heading back to the docks._
-
_A strange sight indeed as Elidur Ginen dressed all in black marched alone in protest against Arlinn Aleanneldth's sentence, death. Even more strange was the fact that he was blowing through a large heralds' horn at least three times before bellowing out his protests.
He marched all round the commons tooting his horn, and was later arrested inside the City Hall for making too much noise! Calls of "Freedom-not-Murder!" and "Stop-the-Injustice!" were frequently heard until Elidur was taken away…_

As if constant rumours of sinister murderers and lurking vampires isn't enough for the Peltarch common man to deal with, a group of Black Sails return from a trip to the kobolds new lair, muttering darkly about the cave's surprise visitors - drow. Those interested enough to filter information through the sailorly curses will note the mention of a highly skilled drow trapper, along with some unsavoury drider cohorts.
//a bit late in posting, thanks btw to Andelas for a tense, exciting and entertaining event

@0eee5a7350=rei_jin:
Word travels quickly that the undead have claimed their seventh victim in the recent spate of killings. The commons was shrouded in darkness, and several adventurers attacked whilst the perpetrator did his foul deed.
… And it would be known to most that the victim had VII carved into their forehead.

_Word travels quickly that the undead have claimed their seventh victim in the recent spate of killings. The commons was shrouded in darkness, and several adventurers attacked whilst the perpetrator did his foul dead.
The town guard are said to be on the case, but at this stage, most are feeling very wary about being out at night, even to the point of jumping at their own shadow._

Word has it that Oscuran agents are inquiring about closed shops or anyone wishing to sell. Not that any offers have been made, but they do seem to be keeping track of what is available and how much people want to sell for.

Those outside early in the evening last night would have seen what could have been a shooting star, moving across the sky rapidly, until it crashed into the ground near the old ruined tower, to the south of town.
Rumour has it that it wasn't a shooting star, but that it was a ship from other worlds that had landed, looking for bold or foolhardy adventurers to undertake a task on another planet.
Of course, no-one listens to a drunken fool, blabbering on about gnomes being aliens who magicalify ships so that they can sail through the stars.
