Help Wanted: A rare opportunity.
-
Marshal removes his hand from the hilt of his sword, and it remains standing up, jammed into the floorboard. He half-smiles and writes Jaxon into his ledger then nods with an approving look to Jaxon.
"Well met Jaxon, well if your good with a sword, that is indeed a handy skill for this small set of jobs. Basically, you'll get the details the same time as I do, just before the job starts. I can tell you it will be several small jobs, followed by one that brings it all together. I can also tell you it will probably have something that needs to be retrieved or delivered, as well as some possible killing involved. Sellsword you say, excellent cause you won't mind doing things others my shy away from. Payment will be at the end of the contract, and is still yet to be fully discussed. However you will gain a cut of the spoils as well as payment based off performance. If you think your up for it… be here at the scheduled time, and I will have more details at that time."
Marshal puts the quill back into the binding of the small book and his hand goes back to resting on the hilt of his sword. He reaches over to the small table and grabs his glass of brandy and takes a sip. His one eye never leaving Jaxon as he relaxes again…
-
_The man grins faintly, watching the hand on the sword.
"Jaxon.. Captain of Silverbane Sellswords. I'm a fair hand with a sword, if that's what you require."
He flips a coin to a wench for ale.
"So, how about telling me of this work?"_
-
nure calmly wanders into the mithril mug and glances around until she spots Marshal whom she greets with a smile Interesting exit last time we met… chuckles But all the same here I am to apply to your group. After all what's an adventure without a bard to record it eh? Well I'll be heading off now if you need to reach me leave a letter at the college in Peltarch or the crafting union in Norwick I'll be sure to get back to you when I can (// use a PM)
-
Marshal sizes up the man across from him and quietly goes over a ledger, then sips at a glass of brandy.
"Indeed, that's the word on the street. Unlike most who have come to speak to me we've never met. Your a merc, but who are you, what skills do you bring to the table.?"
His hand rests on his sword, but he seems calm and calculating although quite relaxed.
-
_A well built man dressed in a fine black, blue and gold suit sits across the table from Marshal. He appears weary, but attentive, his hand resting comfortably on his blade.
"Word in the Docks is you'd like a mercenary… I may be able to help you out... if the price is right."_
-
With a heavy shrug of his massive shoulders, the hideous half-orc grunts and hesitantly declares his intention to attend.
"Worghol suppose if pay isn't good enough, he kill some of the others and take their cuts."
He grins broadly (displaying some yellowed and cracked vestigial tusks) and laughs in a kind of unsettling way at all the uncomfortable faces before strutting over to the bar and ordering a pint of something foamy.
He was joking, obviously. (Right?)
-
A grin plays across his lips as he see Worg walk up.
"Excellent, well compensation is still being determined with the client, but if you think your up for several small jobs followed by a larger job, then the payment shall be good I believe. Currently those who come will recieve a percentage of the loot gained divisible by the number of people coming, their share to speak, plus a bonus based off performance at the end of the quest, errr job. I can use someone of your strengths Worg, and I'm thinking it might be something you can do. Iffen yer up fer the trip meet me back here in a few days… and we'll head out. There is bound to be treasure and plunder for the taking, and if there isn't, well we'll make some yarrr!?"
Sips his brandy from his seat, watching Coin make her way easily through the crowd unnoticed until reaching his table.
"Excellent, you made it… I can see you have an eye for profit as good as mine if not better. Glad you came, yours are the skills that will make this trip doable. Pick a lock, break a trap, not all are able to do these things. You will recieve a share of loot, as well as a bonus at the end based off performance. I believe this rag tag group is forming up nicely, although I have had some severly overqualified applicants. Have you met Danika yet Coin, she's usually about in Peltarch and I'm waitin for her decision as well."
Adds Coin's name to his ledger of applicants, which a checkmark next to her name. Writes down the Name Worg, but leaves the box empty until he decides if he can make it or not.

A few tables away sits a figure shrouded in a black cloak and hood, making note of all those approaching Marshal.
