Tavern Rumors of Peltarch

  • A ship was blown up in Peltarch's docks recently, taking some time to move the hulking wreckage out of the port.

  • _Explosions seemed to rock the city once again, this time in the Residential district. The guard moving to seal off the District quickly again under the patient command of Captain Garand. Several guards were reported killed, as well as two Cerulean Knights by what appears to be, Underdark creatures, not to mention at least two dozen citizens.

Well known figures were seen wandering the district after the explosions, looking for cover. Ex-General Lavindo was seen taking Senator Fisher to the Temple of Tyr, Rhyla Featherdown was seen escorting some of her girls to the same place, while Lady Vlana Borodin was seen with two of her guards, blasting Umber Hulks to ashes or cutting them down with steel outside the Borodin Estate. Enenan Snydders was seen outside his estate, blasting away creatures with his spells, grumbling about his wasted components and his flowers being trampled.

Magic Eaters, beetles, spiders, Umber Hulks were among the creatures who were forced from the sewers after the explosions, a group of adventurers – including notables such as Senria of the Oscuran Peacekeepers, Jay of the Black Sails, Benji of the Legion, Magistrate Shannon, Senator Adrian Petrarch, and Nure of the Bardic College -- lead by Cerulean Knight Lykca dispatching them all with only a few loses to their side. Even after a run into the sewers itself to find the cause of the disturbance, they emerged, covered in sewage and escorting four people who were said to be living down there.

Captain Garand expresses his thanks to all the adventurers for their help, as well as to the various citizens who put up a fight to save the lives of others. A potter by the name of Jenson Fendol is being honored by the city for his daring rescue of a group of children from the clutches of a group of spiders that cost him his own life._

  • Legion

Despite advice to the contrary, Senator Martoushca Leaffall still lives out of a tent pitched in the docks area.

  • _Recently, several explosions rocked the city, flames shooting high into the sky from the docks district. The Guards, under the expert command of Captain Fortescue closed off the entrance to the docks quickly, soon being reinforced by Archangel Defender Squads, Cerulean Knights and Far Scouts. As the Captain waited for reports from the various groups before sending more men and women into the docks, a group of adventurers went in.

Undead, cubes of goo and several wererats and apparent cultists seemed to pour from holes created by the explosions, from the sewers. The over powering smell of burnt flesh and sewage hanging over the district for days after. Even though two adventurers seemed to die in the assault, one being the Senator Adrian Peltrach, the undead and other nasty things were destroyed or killed.

Other rumors also circulate of Captain Fortescue having to beat down a few self important adventurers who decided to try their luck at jumping his barricade without permission, this ending up in an apparent attempt on the Captains life in plain view of several city employees and citizens by an elven sorceress. Magistrate Shannon D'Arneau being the arresting officer, dragging the unconscious body of the elven woman back to the Gaol.

As the day lingers on, the docks are secured, the remaining holes to the sewers which didn't collapse are sealed up by the Defenders, Archangels are posted at all sewer entrances in case anymore undead decide to emerge and the buildings which caught fire are surveyed for repairs. Several are reported dead or missing, but the docks seems to return to normal in the morning, although people are looking over their shoulders and at the ground more often._

  • _Rumor has it that several Defenders were brought into the city, bound by ropes and some even bloody, all disarmed. Some say traitors, some say a training exercise, whichever it is, some Defenders seem on higher alert than normal.

It also seems the other day, a woman was taken into custody by Lieutenant Aelthas, Knight Lycka, Guardswoman Yana and the mage Celebring, the word Renegade was said and she was seen entering the cells, but not coming out.. word slowly seems to make it's way out that Jennifer the White, the Renegade Diviner has been caught finally, having been hiding in the city since the war._

  • _Rumour has it that the Senate recently voted in favour of a lucerative trade agreement with the City of Oscura, which the local Guilds hope will help to revitalise the City's ailing trade intakes. Of particular importance is the importation of stone, which has always been an expensive import for the Jewel, and which remains a prime commodity after the damage done during the war.

The only remaining question is who will handle the shipping between the two cities. Rumours from those present at the meeting at City Hall say that Oscura was in favour of the Black Sails handling shipping, but the League of Guilds is expected to vote in favour of the City's two main guilds, the Seafarers and Wavebreakers to receive the valuable contract (in one of the few areas where the rival guilds are likely to vote with each other on in the League)._

  • Rumours of vampires are the common trade among gossip mongers nowadays, with most stalls and merchants in the marketplace selling all sorts of merchandise aimed at repelling the terrifying creatures, from cloves of garlic to holy water blessed by dieties such as Lathander or Kelemvor. According the the Peltarch Guard there have been no reported incidents that resemble vampire attacks as of yet, but that hasn't stopped rumour after rumour of people being sucked dry when walking alone after the fall of dark.

  • Rumours spread of a vampire being caught between the inner and outer door of the western gate, through the skillful actions of the Peltarch Defenders. After being interrogated by Defender Lt Aelthas Benthur and Cerulean Knight Lycka Zomasdottir, the beast burst out of the confinement and was promptly burnt to ashes by the morning sun. More alarming than this incident in itself, however, are the rumours claiming this vampire was just one of countless others, all travelling towards Peltarch.

  • _A large gathering took place not long ago at the Lucky Ferret Inn, with the intent of gathering a force fit to fight a certain archmage by the name of Dacien, recently earning himself a name for villainy by a spectacular attack during Norwick's fight night. The Black Sails, while rarely known for acts of heroics, nonetheless took the leading role in the planning and execution of what appears to have been a highly successful strike against the powerful mage, rumoured to have been aspiring to godlike status. Joining the crew's endeavour were the skillful mages Celebring, Ronan and Arlinn, while Nial Nightwind of the Divine Shield and Guardswoman Yana provided good martial aid to the mission, alongside the mysterious Kel'ra and his Helmite brethren.

The entire party returned alive, if well worn by the ordeal which according to more detailed rumours entailed fighting vicious mercenary Zhentarim forces, armies of well-trained orcs and bugbears, minotaurs, frost giants and hideous creatures constructed of flesh and metal. Some sources would add a powerful green dragon to the tale, though opinions differ on whether this last beast was friend, foe, or merely turning up for his own lofty dragon reasons. As drinks were on the house at the Ferret on the evening of the party's return, the exact details of the events are naturally hazy. The main point is clear, however: Dacien is dead._

  • //TY! :)) just to bring it up to date about said shipment

After the cargo was inspected, it was moved carfully off the docks and into a storage building. The man meeting the ship, descibes Calen in face and hair seemed very happy and greatful to the Captain for the arrival.

  • The Black Sails vessel Las Tinieblas arrived in Peltarch a while back, several cart-loads of heavy cargo being carefully unloaded under the watchful eye of Captain Seesaw.

//belated post, just clarifying that a certain shipment was indeed delivered

  • _A newcomer to the city named Aeadan Teddry can be seen visiting the docks regularly. Wearing pale green plate mail, with a holy symbol of Torm hanging from his neck, he visits the poorest parts of the district to offer healing and aid to those in need. Each month, he offers to prepare a grand meal for one hungry person as part of the ritual known as Torm's Table.

While he does not actively preach, he does offer Torm's blessings to those he meets._

  • After emerging from her books to face Dacien B has been looking for Elidur. She is uncommunicative as to why, but that's normal.

  • A very troubled Jaelle was seen getting on a boat heading to Hoarsgate and no one, including her seems to know when she'll return to Peltarch.

  • Jaelle, when seen in Peltarch, looks like she hasn't slept, bathed, or eaten in days…when asked what's wrong she just shakes her head, her eyes brimming with tears and just turns around walking off, muttering something about needing to pray.

  • An interesting rumor has started in the Mermaid by whom, no one knows. It is said that Senator Ashwynd and two others went Orc hunting and were surprised or something as the Senator now looks quite worn out as did the two companions. Oddly, Calen, as he is known by his friends, has retired to the Temple of the Triad instead of the Inn. Why? Again, No one seems to know.

  • _What appeared to be calm day in the commons turned out to be anything but calm as a Umber Hulk, crazed and rampaging, burst through the ground and started attacking anything within sight. Through the quick actions of Lieutenant Aelthas, Senator Calen, the mages Arlinn and Re'rith, as well as the dwarves Ronus and Dolinar, the beast was quickly dispatched.

After preparations, the group entered the very same hole in the ground that the Hulk came from in search of its origin, Lisa later sealing it off with a keg to make sure nothing else would come out. What happened under the ground isn't known yet, but the group was seen in the city days later, alive and well._

  • _A decidedly less good time at the Ferret began in the same manner as most amicable evenings at that particular establishment - with a few drinks and a bit of violence. Intent on testing their martial skills, several Sails entered the fighting arena alongside Senator Redralen, Celebring, Raul and Cerulean Captain Kenton Seth. Something quite out of the ordinary took place downstairs, however, as powerful magic shook the floor and the people slowly trickling outside all seemed far too upset for a simple contest to have been all that transpired.

Pale and tight-lipped, the manager Sabre Seesaw announces the basement of the Ferret to be closed during the following day, for repairs. Little else is revealed, though wild rumours have it both Senators Ashwynd and Redralen were petrified and several Sails near killed by a mystery assailant._

  • The Lucky Ferret was once again the sight of a great deal of merriment and other assorted goings-on, as Eowiel Senella, former senator and bardess of much renown, showed up with a blue haired girl, a smiling beauty who promptly magicked her own hair green for a drink upon entering and learning of the famous bardic juice of creativity.

Lots of drinking and rowdiness ensued, with Eowiel apparently decided to test Rhiannon the blue haired bardess for entry to the college.
Singing a rowdy song about a drink of some renown, Riskey, that she made up on the spot, and cracking a whip in the room, and ending her song by leaping up onto the table to take her bow, the young woman was promptly tipped handsomely, a key part of her tip!

Thrilled, she celebrated with several members of the sails, until a fellow who learned about Riskey right there on the spot decided to have at a bard-off with her. His name was overheard to be Vash't.

He was not a bard by any means, but could string together a rhyme better than some, and by accounts of the bouncer and barstaff, took Rhiannon's poetic chair-to-the-face with a grin… after picking himself up off the floor and splintered chair bits.

He was soon after thrown out after the barkeep told him he had "Had enough", which prompted an argument, one-sided to be honest, with the bouncer tossing him out on his face most unceremoniously.

Ah, a good time at the ferret.

  • _Words spreads of yet another fighting tournament having taken place at the Lucky Ferret inn recently- This one was dubbed "A Hard Knife Life", and featured teamed knife fights in a playful gang style, the contestants cheered on by the Ferret's own working girl cheerleaders and a rather eccentric fellow referred to as "Bananaman". The scandalous miss Rhyla Featherdown is also said to have made a guest appearance during the evening's activities.

Appointed gang leaders Celebring, Hedia, Telli and Jarkin McFarkin lead their small, stylish gangs of Blue, Red, Yellow and Green into the ring. The unfortunately named Gang Green was first to taste bitter defeat at the hands of the merciless Reds, while Gang Blue narrowly outshanked the Yellows, Celebring proving a surprisingly merciless street fighter. In the end though, none could stand against the mighty gang Red: Hedia, Jay and Rhyndar, but all bets were of course off for the grand prize: The Silver Shank. The former team mates fought tooth and nail for this silver-coated trophy knife, reigning Axe Night champion Rhyndar ultimately proving the most resiliant and adding another Ferret Fight Night notch to his belt.

In an additional free-for-all fight, Sails members Jay, John, Luke, Sabre and Senria duked it out for the title of guild knife champion, with Luke opportunistically dodging, stabbing and knocking enough of his guild mates on the arse to claim victory. The blonde sailor naturally celebrated the feat with a bottle or three of his own creation - aswell as the night's theme drink - Riskey._
