A Tired Messenger

  • _A tired and weary dwarf, leaning heavily on a walking stick makes his way into the gates of Norwick.

He seems to rely on a crudely drawn map, which he throws to the side as he sees its clearly outdated.

Calling out in dwarven he walks the entire town until he spots a thick dwarf in heavy plate. Recognizing the description, he makes his way quickly toward him, the tapping of the staff pointing out the crescendo in his step.

He calls the dwarf by name and waits for confirmation.

Once it is returned, the messenger pulls out a carefully wrapped package.

Slowly he unwraps it and kneels as he holds the broken rock with an etched name on it like a holy relic.

It takes a few moments for the Norwick dwarf to realize what he is looking at, but slowly he takes the rock and stares at the name.

Relieved of his precious charge, the messenger stands and makes his way out of the same gate he came, speaking a word to no one else in the town.

There appears to be a fresh set of runes on the back, the pure unmarked inside of the sturdy thick rock. A private message to the recipient.

But the thick dwarf just stares at the aged runed name, centered in the broken shard._
