The woods changed...
-
_It came in a night black and rainswept…
Howling wind and rain lashed the town, lightning poured from the heavens. Instead of sheltering from the storm, animals seemed to turn manic and active, dogs howling and racing about, cats prowling through the alleys, flocks and flocks of ravens swirling through the streets.
The druids in town felt it first... as the wary crowd watched, they began to glow with a deep green light.
As the storm reached its cresendo, a great wave of power washed over the land, and from the southwestern Rawlins a tree rose with a rumble and a crash... a tree that towers, still above the rest of the woods, high enough to be dimly seen from Norwick.
The unsaid word IRMUNSUL echoed.
A band of adventurers left into the woods. Shortly thereafter the sounds of a vast and terrible battle rang through the woods.
The tree still stands... wreathed in what seems like an eternal overcast, lightning playing about its branches... looming over the wood. Ravens circle it like sentries, dozens upon dozens of them._

Aramuil observes the tree with an eye of concern; often his left hand rests on his family's blade at his hip while the other hangs to his side, electricity dancing upon it at times.
-
Militia on the walls mutter but pull their cloaks tighter about themselves and hunker down near the fires as they watch. Rotations of guards are up and and a steady patrol of guards rounds the realms walls to the south.
