Character Name: Iria
Account name: KaokaokaoThis young lasses story begins in the Lake of Steam, the daughter of a servant girl, and a butcher. Destined to be both servant and butcher. Iria's mother died of a horrible plague and her father was left scarred by her mothers pain. Years he spent abusing the bottle, past out in some corner, or being generally abusive to the world at large. Iria was only 4 summers old when her mother passed on, and it was the beginning of a hard life for her. Her father unable to support himself or her, began to have Iria employed as a serving girl at the age of 8 in the local inn. The two of them spent 2 years serving pirates, brigands and various other miscrients in the region. Iria faced abuse and danger on a daily basis, never sure of her survival.
After 2 years of general existance, for Iria was almost devoid of emotion, her father was involved in a plot to kill a local magistrate and they were forced to move across the lake and far away to the city of Arabel. Arabel offered a new life to her father and whole new form of abuse for Iria. As noble as the Corymrians might think they are, their underworld is one of the worst. Iria's father always liked to gamble, sometimes going so far as to gamble Iria as a prize. It was in this sin that Iria developed further, one night in a drunked stupor her father gambled her off to a Thayvian Slaver without knowing. Iria quickly poison her fathers next ale, and swore to whatever gods that were listening that he would never betray her again. Unfortunately before he Slaver could wisk Iria away, she was caught by a witness, and arrested by the local Tormites. She was put in the stockades in the middle of town to display, not a normal punishment for a girl only 12 years in age, and a scarring one none-the-less. Fruits, rotten and ripe, various other horrid things were thrown at her, she was mocked and ridculed, abused and worse….
On the fourth night of her bondage, a silent man moved out from behind a building. He was a tanned man, with dark black hair, not very tall, but short by no measure. He spoke softly to Iria, as if a whisper on the wind, he had come to free her, free her of her bonds, and take her away from this place. Iria in her helpless state simply accepted his offer. With a snap of his fingers the stockade bonds shattered and Iria was free. The man simply disappeared. Iria not knowing what to do, simlply ran. She ran and ran, until her legs could no longer carry her, tlll her stomach could no longer fuel her, and till her mind simply gave up. She hit the ground and lay unconcious.
Thump! Thump! Thump! some orcish conversation Iria wakes slightly and is immediately knocked ovre the head by a club darkness
The sound of metal on metal, the groans of orcs dying. Iria wakes to see a band of dwarves, having killed her orc captors. Iria thanks them and agrees to work as a cook for them, for saving her life. They agree that is a wonderful payment and 3 years goes by of joyful travel and employment at the hand of the band of dwarven mercs. It was on the day before her third full year that the band of dwarves was attacked by a series of large blue skinned giants. One of the large dwarves was hurtled directly into Iria and she felt her head crack at the coner of the wagon. Voices stir in her head, things she has never thought of real and turn in her mind, darkness is all surrounding her and there is nothing. Iria wakes to being dragged in a wagon, her wounds bandaged, a strange man driving the large ox that is pulling it. Dalak is his name, information is his game, politics and the social arts he liked to put it. Dalak offered to teach Iria on the finer arts of smoozing and dealing. Iria agreed, and began to apprentice to oddly enough a cleric of Cyric. Dalak taught her all about home to manipulate situations to your advantage, how to eliminate the competition through various plots and designs. Dalak always said Iria had a talent for this and Cyric would be pleased if she worked to follow his teachings. Dalak taughter her as much as he could in the few years they travelled, but upon Iria's 18th birthday Dalak sensed something wrong with Iria, a destiny seemed to be revealing itself, one that Dalak himself could not stomach to follow, but he knew in which direction it lead. He gave Iria several coins and a few days rations and explained that she must go, her first test was soon to come, and Cyric would show her the proper path. He told her that she must go to Narfell, the power of Cyric is strong there, and something more must be done, Cyric worries about something occuring in the region, and it is Iria's destiny to put it to rest.
So Iria, blessed by her masters teachings, and her devotion left with a handful of things and headed towards Narfell, using her caution and grace to guide her path. Faithful unerringly, evil is abound and Iria will take what she believes is hers. Destiny has set a course for her, Time has picked this lifetime, what will Fate hold in store for this young lass. All Iria knows is that you only get one shot at the path set out for you, and she is going to seize it, and eliminate anything that stands in her way.
