Jonni and the mages

  • Raver turns and glares at Tala before sliding into a grudging laughter with her

  • Tala brings Raver tea one day on the ledge taking a break herself from hauling, planking and cooking.

Nice just to shoot a few arrows I'm thinking. she mumbles something for Raver's ears only your ass will never be the same again. Likely need to get that armor reworked.

whatever she muttered causes her to chuckle and smile

  • _Rumbles shake the Nars as the mages led by Celebring and Cera draw the earth slowly up, shaping their side of the Pass into a defensible position.
Warriors keep watch, keeping the hobgoblins from attacking those who only wield magic or shovels.

Raver seems to have gained a bit of weight these days, and hasn't been seen in full armor in several weeks. Nevertheless, she spends time each day up on the cliffs armed with a bow and her sharp eye for threats_

  • _Ragnhild keeps throwing all of her considerable strenght and energy into the work, mostly hauling heavy logs or stones or otherwise pitching in where pure muscle force is needed. Competetive as ever, she will often liven up the work day with small challenges against various unfortunate fellow workers, then happily (or sulkingly, should she actually lose) helping herself to large quantities of Tala's stew while recovering from such bouts.

Lycka on the other hand, seems a bit more at a loss of how to help, clearly being more than a little impractical, yet does her best to assist whenever her other duties allow it. After the initial sourness at Dentin's presence has faded, the young bard seems to recover most of her sunny mood, often singing cheery work songs while striking up a compelling and easy rythm on the drums._

  • _Arandor resists, for awhile, telling Tala he is fine and still able to work. He eventually gives in when she seems to insist, telling her not to work too hard or wear herself out.

The long hours of work don't seem to affect him too much, he leaves the construction site early and relatively fresh. He helps himself to another bowl of the stew before heading home for the night._

  • *Tala is often seen making vast quantities of soup that turns to stew as the day plods on and the soup simmers to a thickened stew. All accounts say that the stew is still tasty at the end of the day, but will sit on you like you ate a deer haunch yourself. It seems to owe largely to the thickness of the stew. Arandor and Tala often arrive at the fire with a deer and a tree or two between them. Making short work of the logs into boards and using the larger branches to feed the fires as she makes stew.

The long hours of toil see smudges appearing under her eyes. She watches Arandor though more closely and insists that he go to their home long before she finishes her day.*

  • The hillwork goes on, night and day…. the very shape of the Pass changing as the mages go about their work, with every Rom and Gali using shovels and picks to aid the efforts.

  • _Aside from a few days off to spend with her husband or just rest and talk with friends and maybe help fight off a few hobgoblins, most of Cherry's hours remain dedicated to drudge work she can manage to help with in building the fortifications.

Maybe once or twice she might black out on the job (bad curse rolls). Shes right back out there to toil away, both times, by the end of the day or very next morning._

  • Jonni can be seen overseeing the progress almost daily, a pleased look on his face. Jonathan most always stands by his side, the two carrying on a discussion, their motions indicating they are "seeing" how it's all going to look before it's completion. Some note that while Jonni looks pleased, he also looks tired and worn.

  • Having grown bored with the lack of response from Dentin as Elanor and her pixie friends bomb him… She instead resumes her usual task of doing her best to irritate Celebring.

  • Rhistin's seen guiding Master Z of the Crafters Union towards Jeni. Some half hour later, they arrive back at the heartfires, Master Z with a big grin on his face. No doubt, it's Union matters that bring this about.

  • Buttercup Tealeaf keeps herself busy water, bread and a soup thickend with her very own Butterspice, between all those working. Otherwise she stands around with peppy…looking important teasing her about the tower incident that shall not be mentioned...if only anyone but Peppy could hear Buttercup's side of the conversation.

  • Cera finds time to aid in summoning earth elementals and give a suggestion or two to Jonni and the mages.

  • _Cherry sets herself into drone mode and spends her days aiding the construction of the wall. She puts her use of Polymorph Self in whichever form seems most appropriate for the task she is guided to do, whether as an earth-moving or lumber cutting, tree-pushing-over umber hulk, a lumber hauling beast of burden, a spider or bird to carry lines or ropes up to high places to tie off as needed or just the grunt work of her own two hands.

Like someone who has finally found a purpose in life, she pours most o her time, energy and sweat into whatever grunt work she can find to do._

  • Tala when not busy getting wood from the forest is seen making tea to be passed around to those working. Occasionally she offers some of her cookies to those working although this frequently meets with grumbles and dirty looks from Arandor, Star, Sarah and the twins.

  • Kaetlyn gives what help she can, both in moving earth and in easing aches and pains.

  • Giving up on illusionary walls for the meantime (ever since the not to be mentioned "tower" incident) Peppy has made herself useful lighting the night for those who wish to work beyond the setting sun.

  • A single dwarf shows up one morning and walks around taking some notes and making some quick sketches of the construction so far. After nodding at some of the improvements and shaking his head at others, he heads back south towards the Hold.

  • Raver was spotted high upon one of the new hills, watching through the night…. both the hobgoblins and the workers who came to help.

  • Dentin ignores the pixie for the most part, though one well-placed pebble elicits a grunt and a prompt toss-back. In the evening he leaves, though in the morning it is found he has pitched a tent and a small fire outside of the camp. He spends a good hour or more in the morning observing the line of the wall as it takes shape, making a note and a small sketch in a book, before going back to shovelling and keeping to himself, taking the time to think on things.
