Rhistin Tir'eille - Protector of the Rawlin's Wood Druids
-
Rhistin was the love-child between Hengen Winegood, a Bard from Velarburg and Isilme Tir'eille, a Nentyar Huntres from Velarwood. She grew up in Velarsburg, more or less under the care of her father, who was more into a good song than to teach her the way of life. Her mother was never there, always roaming the land, uprooting foul and evil things in service of the Nentyarch, druidic ruler of the Circle of Leth….
It was a foul day when a vicious orc captain pierced his enchanted blade through Isilme’s heart. He came from behind, undetected through dark magic that could fool the eyes and ears of even the hardiest of wood-elves. Life slipped from her body with every beat of her heart....
Due to their often too brief and unregular meetings near the edges of Velarwood, Hengen started to get worried rather late. By chance he caught the news from a fellow that roamed around searching for a quick coin. Broken by the news, he began drinking more than he could bear or afford....
Young Rhistin saw the slow but steady decay of her father as he yet again slipped into the next unconsciousness from way too much ale. One day, she saw him heading off to the local pub again. With a mind of her own, she there and then decided to find the murderer of her mother and take off, leaving Velarsburg. Word had gotten out that the orcs had gathered under Earthspur Mountains, so she joined a caravan of merchants heading East on the Lis Trail...
A long journey started. The nomadic merchants never stayed put for longer times. Always aware of evil robbers, they decided that Rhistin could “earn her keep” as one of their guardians. Whenever they made camp, she was taught in the basics of wielding a bow by Slivas Remin, bowsman extraordinaire....
As time progressed, the trail she had set off to, went cold. But travelling through the lands and camping out under the stars kindled a strong desire to live in the woods for the rest of her days. She became aware of her desire to follow her mother’s footsteps:
chasing down foul creatures smudging the woods with their disrespect for life....When she walked Rawlin’s Wood, she decided to stay behind and do what she could do best. In honour of her mother, she offered her duties to the Druid circle there...
