Whispers at the Fire

  • _The High Prayers of Harvest Festival, which celebrated the ending of autumn and the beginning of winter, was a great success.

It was started with prayers to Chauntea, the Earth Mother. Then an introdution of the festival Lady, Fadia and Lord, Jerr. Then, a contest to see who could get certain types of wood the fastest to make a bon fire that, as the master crafter Ginger said, would be seen from the heavens. It seems Ginger's team had won and acquired several magical potions as their prize.

Next was the archery contest. In the middle of the contest, two interesting characters showed up… two orcs named Grug and Grog. They came with peace and the druids welcomed them to enjoy the festival. The winner of the archery contest, was of course, Ginger!

But wait! It seems the celebration was interrupted by father winter himself, played by Wolf. He and the festival Lady fought in an epic battle. The Lady eventually drove father winter away and the crowed booed as winter ran away in cowardice! The two orcs, Grug and Grog, told Raisa that they would offer to smack father winter if he did return.

Then things calmed down and those that remained watched as the bon fire slowly burned out.

The Festival was held by the archdruid, Raisa, and the rest of the Circle of Quercatha Terr. It seems druids can party rather well._

//thanks to all and Nilla for setting up and doing all the DM stuff needed for this sort of thing, you rock! And to mirror for planning out most of it.

  • The pale faced blackguard vincent has been seen hanging around norwick quite often recently, difficult to tell why but more than a couple citizens have given him suspicious looks…

  • Rilia passes through Norwick looking for Lucidious. Upon going into the boarshead to see if he was drinking she hears some of the rumors about the demon and the Yaunti.

Her lovely muscial voice is heard by patron to most clearly say,

"I saw the Yaun-ti cast on the demon a tentacle spell, to hold the demon in place. After she cast to destroy the demon a woman in robes, I believe the monk woman, attacked the Yaun-ti. The Yaun-ti then fled and rather than defend the lands from the demon all of the defenders gave chase to the Yaun-ti."

her look one of consternation, lavender eyes sparking with irritation

"I alone and invisible ran after the demon. I kept track and pace with it while the other ran off. It ran after those running south for a time before heading towards the cave mouth in the hill and then seeing nothing to fight it launched itself into the air. If i could have remember the trick of flying I would have followed it."

rilia having worked herself up recounting the story orders a bottle of wine and sits down to drink it.

  • (since when??? surely the player playing the char would have been informed he was just pked without even logging on?)

  • An announcement is made by a herald of Norwick

For the murder of the Chancellor of Norwick and for his recent misconduct as Sergeant at arms of the Norwick Militia, Rando Di'ran is hereby dishonorably released from his service and sentenced to death by the Chancellor of Norwick. Rando Di’ran's sentence was carried out last night by the Chancellor himself. Should Rando Di'ran ever rise to walk these lands again, he is hereby banned from the town of Norwick. May the gods have mercy on his soul.

  • Other rumours say that the mage was doing what he could to resolve the situation without further violence, and that the monk known as Yu Shei was just about to attack the Yuan-Ti when he opened fire.

  • _Rumors fly that the "former" banite mage, known as Ezachiel, was seen talking with a demon who was causing havoc throughout the nars. When a Yuan-ti came to help destroy the demon, Ezachiel protected the demon and attacked the Yuan-ti instead.

After said event, a bare-footed druid limps through town, looking inredibly angry and looking like he had been torn apart. Blood covered was his bark and his bark also seemed to be letting off some smoke._

  • Legion

RUmors arise of General Grag and Milshot speaking on sams hill then abruptly vanishing to discuss "something important" not much else is known….

  • When leaving their shift and relaxing at the Boarshed two guards are talking about some woman in full plate talking with some half-orc about undead in the Rawlins.
Some dungsweapers say that the woman and the half-orc later went to the Rawlins, others say that all this about undead and bones from dead animals are just stories to scare the children living in Norwick.

  • Rumor has it that the Chancellor was recently seen walking through town from the south fire with a new hairstyle. Instead of his usual, straight silvery hair, Lucidious' locks were pulled back into two long, symmetrical braids.

  • South of Norwick at the south gates Alexi and an elf curled up into a white ball with a hood covering her face could be heard in quite emotional distress. They could be seen exchanging serval not so friendly words to say the least the least. In the end the elf ran off into the woods…... and Alexi could be seen walking over to the boarshead eyeing an ale glass for the next several hours. Since then...whatever happened to alexi has left him with quite a look of anquish on his face as he can often be heard saying "why her...... why?" He rarely says anything else if at all besides that. Not even an occasional chuckle can be heard from him or even hinted at. When not eyeing an ale glass his whole demenur and look can be seen as have changed a lot ... as if he had lost somthing very dear to him.

  • Norwick Militiaman Kalith has been taking to his patrols with unusual glee of late. Something has put a bounce to his step and has brought a slight grin to his face.

  • _Rumors around the Boarshead indicate that Chancellor Lucidious, sometime after the attempt on his life, had his silver longsword sharpened to such a degree that it would be capable of splitting even a single hair in two.

One patron, clad all in black with a thick gypsy accent, upon hearing the rumor, snickered and asked when the Chancellor had learned how to use a sword in the first place._

  • _Several guards enter the northern gates, discussing an altercation at Badger Hill with Peltarch Guardians.

It seems that Senator Eowiel from Peltarch led a group of Peltarch Defenders and Far Scouts towards Norwick. She never really said what she came for, but it involved certain "threats" that were made against her, supposedly by Rando.

Commander Dwin happened to be on the Badger Hill as they approached with their weapons drawn._

"Lucky we were on patrol, aye?"

"Aye, as soon as I heard the news, I gathered some men and we ran to the hill to back up ole Baldy!"

_Soon, a larger number of Norwick Guards and Scouts appeared on the scene, behind the Commander. They fanned out and took obvious "control" of the Hill.

The Senator and the Commander chatted for a while. At first it seemed a bit..contentious. By the end, they were friendly…or at least courteous to each other. The Senator was curious about Rando's fate. She said that Rando had threatened her life, and that she was travelling with an armed guard because of these threats. The Commander told her very little, as the investigation is "ongoing."

She also seemed very curious about Norwick Law and its current boundaries... which ole Dwin had no problem explainin' to her.

The evening grew late, and the Senator eventually led her men off to Jiyyd where they had "business" to attend to... though not before Dwin invited to them to stay the night in Norwick to avoid the Drow threat._

  • On his next visit to the borshead for his usual bottle of wine, patrons may notice the chancellor talking quietly with barley on recent rumors of vincent and his bottle of wine. The chancellor shows a small smile and leaves a generous tip before returning to the hall.

  • rumor has it, vincent was spotted in the boarshead inn carrying a bottle of what appeared to be rather old wine.

  • The Halfling Defence League

Fad watches Lucidious, then heads south towards the glenn

Hate to say 'I told you so', 'specially to a friend, but….

  • The Keeper of Spellweaver stops in at the Boarshead for another breakfast of ham and eggs. Afterwards, he heads to the south gate and briefly inspects the surrounding woods, before turning back and asking the guards if they have heard anything from the saurials.

  • _*Keira is seen more often around Norwick, mostly in conversation with the clerical staff at what used to be Friar Fred's, but also with others of the citizens. She takes careful notes of the discussions in her anatomy text.

It seems she's doing some work for Father Dagon of Oscura regarding disease incidence in the Region. She pays particular interest to those in common public view and contact, like the merchants and sentries, since they're likely to have the greatest exposure to carriers.

No, there's nothing specific to worry about, just routine enquiry.*_

  • having gone missing for a few days, the chancellor can be seen once again walking about the town, if only to fetch his usual bottle of wine from the boarshead. He says very little to anyone and appears very weak, putting more weight on his staff than usual. Every now and again, some might notice the chancellor finger a mark on his throat with a frown, often followed by a few sharp curses in elven.
