Get your +5 Oger slaying swords out!

  • Giantspire got new ogers, and I need feedback on what the challenge is like and the experience. No more wounding axes, but these are still no picnic, unless we did something wrong.

So tell us how well they kill you.

Thank you Coaan and Baboo πŸ˜‰

  • Ogre-run

A party of 10 people - mostly Levels 9-14 (inc 6 light fighters, 2 thugs a cleric and Meril) had little trouble. Our hasted warcleric got beat down to injured over some of the fighting but we weren't in serious danger. The tight team of flanking fighters with sneak attack were putting the critters down pretty swiftly, and planning the route to avoid getting surrounded. Good traps. Hard, but not impossible to disarm or see.

Chucker XP by level - was lowish, but we had a very tough party.
Loot seemed a lirttle bit low maybe. The axes are heavy and not very valuable for ranged grief they put out πŸ™‚

I recommend trying it with a 4-6 person party of average level 10-11 to see how they do. We had massive overkill with our coachload of folks.

  • If these are like the Nasty Ogres Ezachiel and Genzir encountered, I like them πŸ™‚ Ezachiel needed a couple of rounds to kill one in Tenser's Transformation, so they look like they'll make a nice challenge.

  • No free swords, and William you need 5 HEAL potions not a sword, or a +5 bow that can be used at a very long range.

Now please, I don't want this thread too spammy, or hijacked, so please when somebody has made a party and killed some ogers, post.

  • If you give Jeremy a free fancy sword he'll be enthusiasticfor anything,

  • Dear DMs,

Please hand a dozen or so +5 Ogre slaying swords to Will, and I promise to collect an intrepid band of victi… er..., adventurers to go out and test the ogres.

They'll even be enthusiastic about it.

    Thank you for your consideration.
