Jiyyd Rumors

  • _From the hilltop, a lone female figure watches as a group of men clad in crimson gather in the town. She returns inside the temple only when contented that all is remaining at peace.

Early the next morning she can be seen leaving Jiyyd for Peltarch, a trip she's been seen to make by far more regularly than is her habit lately.

The vigilant guards rather quickly make the connection between her silent travels, a rumored visit to one of the better tailors and the Wilting Flower in the city not too long ago, and the slowly rising rumor that she's been making discreet inquiries about a Lord in the city, and quietly grin behind her back._

KULL watches from up the watch tower the Crimson knigts contingent march down the long road and then enter in jyyid.
He Frowns at the sight of them and thinks about what business brings them to Jiyyd.
Although he´s face expression do demonstrate that he´s not happy about what he´s seeing, he says nothing to them, instead writes something in his small note book and remains on top of the watch tower, guarding

KULL (Half Orc Barbarian, Training Officer and Major in the Legion)

“To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!”

  • _It is said that sudden and unnatural darkness struck the west gate of Jiyyd twice yesterday, centered around a certain stuttering elf.

He was heard to yell and cry as if hearing voices, while those around him tried to discover the source of the darkness.

After the second such occurrence, the elf vanished, and most of those present ran off to Oscura looking for him.

Several minutes later, the elf re-appeared next to the west gate archer's platform in Jiyyd, shaken, but apparently none the worse for wear.

Some say the occurrence was a result of the elf being haunted by the spirit of a lost love.

Others say the unnatural darkness and the elf's apparent insanity can be laid at the feet of emissions resulting from a change in Grag's diet._

  • It seems two adventurers, a human male and a slightly less male sun elf, returned battered and bruised from the all too familiar rescue the cow quest. After solving a dispute about who the cow really belonged to and whether or not someone or anyone at all tried to steal it, which at moments even escalated to a brawl. Anyhow, the rumor has it that after this was finally settled, someone of the bystanders produced a statue of a most beautiful creature, no less even tinted in the typical coppery color of a sun elf's skin, the shoulder long hair faintly resembling the golden color so often found in that race. Rumor has it the statue even began dancing and according to rumor all people present, male and female alike immediately fell for the charm of the animated statue. But clearly, such cannot be true.

  • Having spent months now searching in and around Jiyyd and across the Pass for any sign of Draihken with no luck.. she finally hears a rumor about Draihken going in to battle the giant spiders beyond the Camp.
She packs a few things, and heads out into the deeper woods a determined look on her face

  • Legion

General Grag can be seen amungst the living once again some say he is much more grumpy these days and best not to cross him….

  • _::Shane nods at Theaon's words, remaining displeased though not to the point that such could be taken as an insult, speaking calmly herself::

Anyone seeking sanctuary willingly within these halls has our protection, there should be no fear of that. Where we can bar off several parts of the temple to unwanted visitors, this does not mean that common folk or others in need to be rebuked. This right remains solely with the Watchers, and none other.

I praise the Legion's commitment in their task here, but you must know that this is not the sole duty we carry upon ourselves. There is much more that passes before the Vigilant's Eye. Committed or not, your men went too far.

None the less, the charge the Legion holds is just as much our concern as yours. I trust the Generals and sir Blake can come to an agreement that benefits everyone in favor of the safety of this charge, without causing further troubles for the public entrances._

::With that, Shane returns to her own affairs, leaving further resolution on this to Blake and the Legionnaires::

  • _General Theaon of the Legion can be seen walking up to the temple with a calm expression on his face, speaking with Shane and Sir Blake.

"My apologies for this. My troops misunderstood the writen orders General Lyte left us. We are to keep a close eye on the temple to make sure nothing bad happens due to the nature of this issue, however we do not dictate who is allowed in or not. I have the upmost confidence that the knights of Helm have the inside of the temple secured well enough. If you do not want our assistance, please speak with General Lyte. Just know we are here to help."

Theaon then looks to Trent with his eyes narrowed

"Listen here, we've fought and defended this town years before you arrived, and we do so without pay. If there is to be cooperation then I suggest you hold back pitiful insults. I will say again I am sorry that my troops misread the orders, but that does not mean insults should be spoken aloud."

Theaon then walks back to the Legion Hall_

  • _"I know why they were there, and this is the only warning or request I will make towards this matter.

No one bars entry into the temple halls. I hope that is clear enough, Will."_

  • Will shakes his head at the posturing, pomposity, and theatrics, and might be heard to mention, were anyone passing by at that moment, that perhaps someone might have asked why the guards were there, and what they were guarding, before throwing the doors wide.

Thoughtless actions too often have unfortunate consequences.

  • _Sir Trent Blake opens the doors to the Temple of Helm in a very showing manner and calls for the attention of citizens and visitors of Jiyyd.

"Let it be known that our Temple of Helm will always be with open doors to any and all who seek protection and shelter within it's wall. No band of self-absorbed mercenaries hold any say into how this temple operates. We are servants of the Vigilant One and will always offer our protection to those who need it."_

  • @38330acc73=sciolist:

The Temple of Helm is mysteriously closed to worshippers, pilgrims, lost children and anyone not on the list of the vigilant Legion guards.

    What's going on?

_If the Legion continues to bar travellers from the Temple, then they will meet with a clearly angered paladin. The Legion guards will then be told that they are thanked for their concern in one particular matter regarding three children, but that in future they should first of all confer with the present clergy or herself before attempting to bar anyone away from the temple again.

The paladin will then proceed to inform the Legion's General of her displeasure regarding this incident, stating that the Temple itself does not dictate who is allowed entry into the Legion Halls just as well. Whereas the paladin usually is known to remain calm and reserved, in this particular instance her expressions speaks tell tales of withheld anger.

Rumor may spread that earlier, she was seen carrying a burnt corpse into the temple, as well as that she had a hand in the recent death of three children, to which she gives no further explanation than "not all we come to see, is as it seems." Perhaps, they say, these events have had a greater impact on her than she would care to show, and the paladin may be on the edge of losing it.

None the less, as long as her angered expression remains, most commoners feel it somehow wiser to avoid direct contact with the Helmite._

  • The three children who apparently claimed their uncle's farm their own were slain with the help of some of the more prominent paladins of Jiyyd. The name "Helm's Finest" is often mentioned with them and there's apparently talk of envy and grief over who stands highest in Helm's regard. In the end, only one thing is certain, though, and that is that those 'children' are no more. Oddly enough, it seems few bother seriously about the man who they relieved of the farm.

  • The Temple of Helm is mysteriously closed to worshippers, pilgrims, lost children and anyone not on the list of the vigilant Legion guards.

    What's going on?

  • Several witnesses in Jiyyd confirm that a man in red lacquered plate armor and a dark-red, wrym-like helm staggered into the town trailing blood that was flowing from within his suit. Several arrows protruded from the man's pauldron and back plate, each with scorch marks ringing them in the metal. He collapsed near feet from the healer's door, but was quickly attended by a priest who was chancing nearby.
Upon removal of the man's helm, the familiar scarred and hardened face of Daerus Olarryn was seen choking out a warning to the priest (whom some claim to be Sy). Not much was heard, save for the words "ambush," "Phoenix warriors," and "Nars bridge."
Hours later Daerus was seen heading to the Legion barracks quite healed but with a deep scowl etched in his face.

Dwin surveys the damage to the Jiyyd Crafting Hall and then marches over to the Council building muttering some not-so-nice sounding words along the way.

Where the fark was the Jiyyd Militia? Sittin around soakin their toes? Drinkin tea?

And the Legion? On Holiday again? How the fark these lil bandits sneak in here and burn our building is beyond me.

((Dwin's pet peeve #12: People making quick assumptions about posts without asking.

Who said I was blaming a PC? BELIEVE ME, as leader of the Norwick Milita and one who misses many-a-goblin attack, I am not blaming PC's for not being there.

Did Just'ene do anything? Any of the NPC guards? These are the questions Dwin wants answered.

Frankly, I believe Dwin's response to be completely appropriate. Our property was attacked, and a town with not one but TWO military groups offered no resistance.

    ))

  • ((Could be wrong, but I think the Legion does have NPC soldiers a DM could spawn, or move Militia around Jiyyd appropriately.))

  • The Chancellor of Norwick met with a party by the fires in jiyyd, rounded up a few more adventurers, then set out for mintas for several days of research and study. They returned unexpectedly the next day with three children who had been wandering lost in the woods. The children were supposedly taken to their uncle’s home where the party disbanded. The chancellor was heard saying he would attempt the journey to mintas again in a few tenday.

(( thanks to everyone who made time for that little trip 😄 ))
