::New rumours heard in the Mermaid::

  • Onlookers mention that Fenz walked quietly with the guards and wasn't dragged or anything like that. They also mention that a gnomish clerk has been appointed acting magistrate. While most agree that this Lady Blackwind is taking the laws seriously, judgements on her person vary from heartless to dutiful.

  • Rumours spread swiftly that the one and only Fenz was arrested last night in the Dancing Mermaid. The patrons there regale their fellows for many nights after about how there was a veritable army of guards there to take him in, even Vick Dunderstone himself! Naturally with such a huge deal being made of it there is wide speculation as to what the charges are…though there is consensus that they must be pretty bad. Some say it looks like Fenz's days are numbered...

  • _During the first rays of light from the last morning, a peculiar sight was spotted for those awake enough to be watching the skies. A griffin carrying an armoured knight and a halfling flew over the city and sat down infront of the west gate, where they disembarked. After the knight removed her helm, the griffin shifted back into the visage of a man. An odd sight.

Genzir, Gonnar and Kara all walked away shortly after, seemingly downtrodden_

  • Not long after the sun had gone down, a trade caravan rattled its way up the roads to the city and made camp just outside the walls to rest before doing buisness the next day. Among the regular trade wagons however was a rather fancy carraige that pulled right up to the gates and let a single figure out. They conversed with the driver briefly then slipped into town and the carraige set back off towards the rest of the wagons.

Apparantly a well off visitor has just arrived from quite a distance.

  • Two members of the Sails return from the foothills, out of breath and badly beaten. Apparently they entered a cave and fought hordes of kobolds, at least that would seem normal enough, but they also mention a huge, oversized kobold who chased them out of the foothills, stomping after them… luckily as slow as huge.

  • Those spending time around the lucky ferret will notice the bouncers seem on edge after what appears to have been an 'accident' happened in one of their back rooms. While they don't appear to have informed the authorities, the staff keep a watchful eye on those entering the inn. At least two men are rumoured to have been struck down unconsious and another killed.

  • Rumour flies about a recent kidnapping of a child in the Commerce district. In spite of a large number of guards and defenders, as well as some members of the Black Sails nearby, the mystery abductors got away and left little to no trace behind, apart from a trail of bodies. People talk in hushed voices about inpenetrable darkness covering the area and small, hooded figures fleeing the scene, one carrying a bundle of some kind.

  • Rumors has it a member of the sails fled Peltarch, and in the course of doing so two other sails were accused of obstruction of justice. In the end, one of the sails went to jail.

  • _While a number of sails were sitting in the commons, one of the newest of the group, Arthanis, ran into the commons, up to Deacon simply proclaiming..
"Cap, ye gots teh see this.. yer 'ead's on a pike".

After which the group rushed out the gates, towards the tower.. and yes, it seems there is now a tombstone, and three skulls on poles on one of the nearby hills. The tombstone reads: "RIP. Roland, Deacon and Talgrath" or somesuch._

  • ((double post due to strange message, my apologies))

  • A group of a few of black and gold clad people gathered in the market today. Apparently there was some dispute going on, tempers almost flaring but no actual fighting began. Later, the group dispersed peacefully.

  • A dead, heavily burned guard was delivered to the south gates. Coupled with a deserted watchtower and strange machines attacking people near the city, makes for another mystery to solve.

  • There are rumours among the Saturday morning pancake-eating crowd that there is an upcoming festival in the Silver Valley. They say that the hins have planned a scavenger hunt and archery contest, and that everyone is welcome to participate.

((Event is scheduled for next Satuday. Start time TBA.))

  • _Word drifts in that a band of seemingly human highwaymen have taken to attacking travelers in the area of the Nars pass known as 'The Ridges', even going so far as to ambush a party of heavily armed knights from Jiyyd.

There is some speculation that they may be a reminant of the old Eastlander bandits that used to plague the area, particularly since their bowmen used ammunition similar to that favored by many of the better-equipped Eastlander archers.

Someone is heard to opine that this may be the infamous Black-Robe Highwayman who long troubled the high road to the south, having gathered a band and traveled to a place where the richest of prizes can be found._

  • It seems three wise men arrived from a far away country and live in Peltarch for now. They also seem to be giving the occasional cryptic answers to questions. Curiously there's a rumor going on about, saying they have evaluated the colors and ordered them.

  • Word spreads along the crafter's grapevine that Dentin is looking to hire a non-union miner…

  • _There was apparantly a scuffle in the docks, involving numbers of the Black Sails, Seafarers and a mob of other docks people. Some say that the small riot started with the Seafarers stealing the Black Sails ship. Others say that the Black Sails attempted to steal one of the Seafarer ships, but were driven away. Rumours of the death of three guards are hushed about, and things remain tense.

In the days following, Dentin can once again be spotted spending more time in the docks than before, tending to the workers and sailors, doing amounts of work himself where it's necessary. Any guards, especially groups of guards, entering the docks, as well as known groups of rabble and troublemakers, are watched from a distance, yet always close enough to intervene._

  • Ships leave the port, ships return, some with all the crew, others lose men, and some don't return at all.

  • After the latest Wild Magic episode has calmed down, Genzir can be seen frequenting the Bardic College library. Those in the library notice that he is looking for books on Mintas Rhelgor, and specifically anything related to the portal there.

  • Elissa kindly points out that it might be because of the well advised decision to ban using magics even in the areas around Peltarch and hopefully people having become wise and aware of the very nasty side effects. With less use of magic, there's less risk to people. It seems to her that maybe with the weave quietening down, people have once more begun to call on magic and may thus have caused a very nasty backlash.
