There was once a wandering wizard who came across one night a female canine. The meeting was unexpected, she came like a whisper in the night. She seemed intelligent and docile, thus the mage attempted to make her his pet, she did not seem opposed to the idea in the least and thus the two became travelling companions. The wolf proved obediant all the time, a faithful companion she had been all the while.
Arikess grew fond of her over time, a delightful adorable pet she was. He had given her a name, La'nae it was. So personal. It meant "whisper of the night". He had bestowed her too a red leather collar, with a rare beautiful jade adorned upon it, magically enchanted for him to track her location. And so the wolf had accompanied the mage in his wanderings, travelling over many lands, be it the gypsy woods or the great rawlins, the two had gone over faithful to each other side by side.
Alas such an ill fate the wolf suffered though, for she was found one night to have jumped into the lake. Since the beginning, Arikess knew she would have to leave one day, being a canine afterall, it could never have lived long enough to accompany the mage to his last day, but to have met with such an accident was … something he had not expected.
He always thought, she would be the ideal companion in his travels, alas.... All that returned, was her collar, Lanae was gone for good, deep she must be in the recesses of the jiyyd lake, never to be found again. sigh Arikess resigns to fate, accepting the death of the canine pet, mourning silently away.
