Deavron Stormweaver: return of the reckless wizard
-
I was here the last year but was discouraged by dying. Now I have returned, because I have better things to be discouraged by! Here is my revised back story:
@fe3cb42fc0:
Character Log, Deavron Stormweaver
Chapter One: The almost forgotten childhood
It’s a wonder how I remembered my childhood at all. You see me and my parents were living among the various Bedine tribes in the vast desert of Anauroch. My parents are strange people; they tend to go out into the desert with nothing but sticks and books for months at end. Later I realized those are magical staves but that made a little difference.
When they did return, they told me wondrous stories, of vast empires, floating cities and seas of grasses swaying like waves with the wind. And the stories are so vivid, that the characters in them talked to me while I slept and dreamed. I also learned to hate the Formians, the usurpers and annoying oversized bugs.
And they never returned, in one of their trips. Strangely I didn’t miss them much. Soon the Bedines took me in as one of their own. I was taught to hunt, to travel, to stay hidden and to survive some of the worst condition anywhere.
Still, the awful food, and even more awful looking females drives did not contain my ambition. I found a way out of Anauroch as soon I came to age to realize my dreams.
Chapter Two: The ranger of the Rastlinwoods
My luck, for the account, does not exist. If something I do have a slight chance of going wrong, it would go wrong in the worst possible way. I traveled the land, hitching a ride whenever I can. I learned to know that anywhere is better then here. I made a few friends along the way but that’s about the only thing that went right.
I had a strange talent for learning. I seemed to remember only the most trivial and useless detail of things, but I did learn a lot from them. At length I realized I only remember things that interest me and most mundane things, like names, don’t.
I happened to neither stumble across the town of Norwick one day. A pair of elves, after being followed and insulted, offered me a fine longbow and a finer short sword. I decided that will perhaps offset the overwhelming stupidity of the barbarian that happens to populate this place, and I stayed.
And since then, I have joined up with rangers of Rastlinwoods. Waylaying, brutally murdering and stealing from not so defenseless humanoids to repay the favor they have done upon us.
Chapter three: Wizard of spellweaver
The other day I was out practicing archer with an elf of the name “err”, yep, that’s at least part of his name. We ran into another elf called Evardrial or something like it. She decided to instruct me in the arcane arts. And then suddenly I had a vision of some sort. I was in a mage robe, felling all powerful, it was great. To everyone else I was knocked out.
Of course I made up something silly to cover it all up. But I know where my path lied. I know that I was born to be a wizard, somehow. Hope whoever sent me the vision wasn’t smoking pipe.
And by the way, I hate carrying hand axes, I don’t know why everyone carry about five million of them around, I just don’t like carrying more then two at any time.
