Jiyyd Rumors
-
Rumours spread through the day of a battle that took place on the crossroads of the nars on the route from Norwick to Jiyyd. Onlookers and wounded that withdrew to Jiyyd are seen stating about a horde of devils pushing themselves through into the nars from the Hells. The battle is stated to have started after Jarek had tried to win over a crowd of legion and others gathered.
Many fought the encroaching fiends and fought them back until the rift was sealed by the crystals attempting to prevent the rift from remaining open. Many casualties cover the day, including a few of the legion.

Malika overhears Meril's comment about the Featherflights.
"If the town would like an emmissary to speak with them, I carry a Helm of Peace that was given to me by the tribe to represent trust between them and the Circle"
-
Meril is seen about Jiyyd, repeating the warning of the Featherlight tribe: that trespassing on their land will result in death, and that it is not advised the people of Jiyyd visit their neighbours uninvited.

//Yes, my response here was out of place, sorry.

Someone can occaisionally be seen watching from the distance in Jiyyd as if observing the small town.
-
Quiet evenings pass in the hamlet of Jiyyd. The sweet singing and cheerful presence of an elf girl are notably absent.

A row was seen just outside the gates of Jiyyd.
What started as a quarrel between Belade and Rando escalated into a large mob fight.
Rando and the unidentified man wearing Helm's symbols fought a motley group, comprised of adventurers and a few Legionnaires.

Oreth rolls his eyes
The giants got a mite irritated because someone disrespected one of their corpses. They came looking for it, to take revenge. They asked for the person who took the head in the first place. They took their revenge.
And some idiot hin decided to hit on them and irritate them. Stupid people die sometimes. It happens. If you stand next to the angry, upset, 30 foot tall guy, and make stupid, irritating jokes, then SURPRISE, you get splattered like an overripe fruit. This is not a tragedy, this is….kindof funny, honestly.
As for anyone that died after Belade sacrificed herself...well, Belade made a mistake. She paid for it. End of story. Everyone who kept fighting after the giants were appeased deserved what they got.
Again. Stupid people die sometimes.
He fingers the jawbone hanging from his waist
If you're going to take trophies, don't take them from people anyone cares about…

//It should be noted that the Legion members and the friends of the sacrificing Paladin all told her to stop, that someone else said that they in fact were the one that took the head, and not the Paladin, which I took into consideration deciding to go out and stop them from killing her, and Rolan made it very clear that he and I were attacking the giants, while the sacrificing Paladin was still in town. She knew we were going.
Rolan and Lyte followed her immediately, hoping to save her, within a couple of seconds of the girl.
The giants were certainly not retreating when Rolan and Lyte attacked them…they were massed in a huge pile pressed against the Jiyyd doors, just as close to being within the town as is physically possible without actually being in...perhaps ready to make another demand or assault, and the guard in question would not know this, being busy....elsewhere.
Lyte points out, with great conviction, that evil giants cannot be trusted, at all, with anything they say. The giant attacked the original party in the first place, after all, and the one in town kept escalating it's demands....first it demanded a head, then it killed a nearby citizen who was standing nearby, then, when the head was delivered, it did not leave, but demanded a victim...and the giant never stated that the giants would leave the town alone, even if the Paladin gave her life.
Lyte wonders what the complaining guard would have done if Rolan and Lyte had not initiated the attack, and the giant had returned once more, as it appeared they were about to do, demanding that a council member's child next be tossed out the gates.
While Major Lyte takes full responsibility, and is saddened, that more deaths resulted as a result of her and Rolan's charge, she points out that it was a decision that had to make instantly, if there was any hope of saving the brave Paladin walking out to her doom. If there had been time, she would have tackled the lady, //I typed this as she stepped through//, or told those weaker adventurers to wait in town, but, there was no time, and she did what she deemed best against an aggressive, evil, completely untrustworthy foe, who did indeed show no signs of leaving, but were bunched against Jiyyd's gates when she engaged them, as if to rush the town after slaughtering the Paladin.
"It is easy", she points out, "to make post battle, well thought-out observations after the battle is long over, but this was an instance where a decision had to be made in the course of one or two seconds, and the Paladin could hear, before she left, what they were about to do. She could have elected to draw her blade and wait a moment to fight along with us, but did not…and this was her choice, just as it was mine to decide to defend Jiyyd with my blade, and the choice of others who followed after us into the horribly dangerous range of the Giant's foul weapons."
she shakes her head seriously
"I do not shirk my responsibilities as a Major in the Legion and as a citizen of Jiyyd, but find it sad that a guard who is off somewhere measuring the coin in his pouch against the bravery in his heart tells complete untruths about what it was the giants were doing when Rolan and I attacked them, and the nature of the intent and the timing of our charge after the Paladin."
Major Lyte goes to seek out the Lady who walked out into the giants wrath to have a quiet talk with her about this battle

The town guards appear "grumpy". They talk of a party bringing a severed Giant head into town. Hours passed and more giants came apparently following the trail. Many died, but one of the persons bringing the head into town sacrificed herself for her mistake to stop the fighting. As the giants retreated, several legionnaires charged and attacked causing even more deaths rendering the woman's sacrifice pointless. The guards have reported the incident to the council for further review
I was one of those legionnares that died
There has been a rumor saying that all the creatures have formed an alliance and forming a plan all together for another attack to Jiyyd. The reason is not known yet.

Those who frequent the Temple of Helm have commented about often having a feeling of being watched. Though odd, they say the sensation feels benevolant. Quickly it's believed to be a blessing from Helm.
Some of those same people also claim to have seen a very translucent and misty spirit moving about all of Jiyyd.

_Returning from Norwick, Sil spreads word among the townfolk of Jiyyd and the travelers in the Whore that much of the town of Norwick seems to have been taken over by the servants of the crystals - Slaves of a magical phenomenon that enslaves those unfortunate to come into contact with the magic crystals.
She emphatically warns against traveling to Norwick and encourages the citizens of Jiyyd and the refugees of the Romani camp to work together to plan a defense against an attack on Jiyyd._

Word spreads that the Eastlanders are in a civil war, and that one side wants control of the Nars while the other side wishes peace with the towns of Narfell

_One day an old man enters the Whore and tells a confusing tale about chickens, legions, generals and half-orcs. It seems to concern General Grag, who accidentially stepped on one of Shantie's chickens. Unwilling to show any sign of regret, and unwilling to even think about refunding Shantie, some very confusing events followed. First, a chicken entered the gates. When it was approached by another legion member, fully armored, it attacked as if in rage. Even finding a way to pierce the armor. Grag, furious and seemingly intent at killing the chicken, charged and tried to beat it to pieces with his huge greataxe. Both legionaires then tried to beat on the tiny chicken with their huge weapons. Nimbly the chicken dodged their attacks, and managed to pierce the armor of both fighters. Finally, the two had to withdraw and the chicken used the time to disappear. Apparently to another plane. Rumors are ripe about whether this chicken was the chicken-spirit, a demon-chicken or maybe even only a transformed druid.
Anyway, after these events, Grag suppoeseldy decided to fight chickens with a more efficient weapon. Fire. He went to Shantie's shed and slaughtered all chickens he could find. None of her precious chickens left alive, Shantie brought the matter before the council. She's been heard later muttering about a_ General Thief_._

_"Ale's good here. Really. I come all the way down from Peltarse for a pint of this stuff, don't get such a quality brew that far north. Must be the Icelace. I mean, sure the water is cold but it has over fifty thousand men, women and dwarfs pissing in it. Can't lead to a good beverage.
Anyhow, like I was saying, I come down from Peltarse quite regularly for a flagon of the Whore's finest. The other night as I was walking down the East Road, I saw the strangest thing. And I've seen some pretty strange things on the East Road lemme tell ya, took a week for that beard rash to clean up.
It was around midnight and I was picking my way quietly down the road eyes and ears open, not wanting another lusty hobber jumping me. About a hundred yards out from Jiyyd's gate, I spied myself a hobber sittin' against a tree eating a squirrel.
Now I'm a quitter not a fighter, so I hid myself in the grass and started wonderin' how I'd get around that hairy bastard without workin' up a sweat when it happened…
Up out of the grass popped this... this... apparation! About a man's height it was, black as the night 'cept it's head which was naught but a shinin' white skull! Jumped up out of the grass in front of the hobber and unleashed some kind of unearthly warcry.
"Booga Booga Booga!!!", it screamed!
Hobber dropped it's squirrel and damned near pissed itself it did. Didn't finish though, 'cause that skull thingy stuck a sword in it's belly right quick before he scarpered off. Damn strange. Damn strange....
Another ale barkeep!_
