At the Norwick stable barn loft. All is quiet, and a single torch dimly lights outside, all that’s there is the comforting sounds of the horses eating. Resting in the hay, her eyes wander around and rests at the green armour, blade and other belongings carefully stowed away in the corner. She turns her head back up and stares at the cracked wooden ceiling. Jumbled thoughts come rushing into her mind, thoughts upon the path that led her here. She closes her eyes:
… Fear as her father grips her arm, begging her to leave quickly. A dark shadow behind him driving a blade through his back, giving it a satisfying twist before wrenching it out…. she freezes as the helmed man with red glowing eyes is cornering her…, hearing her sister desperately screaming and calling for her in a distance. …a blow to her head….the feeble attempt to get up and move away…. Her body slightly squirming as it’s dragged towards the fireplace…. The door barred, a chaos outside, men whistling - alerting the horses, earth trembling as the horses are let loose runaway in panic.. a blade lying in the hot ember of the fire.. her eyes widen as the heat of the blade comes to her skin… the whimper through the gag as her flesh sears…. and she is branded. Awakening. .the endless walk to the door as it opens… overwhelmed of the destruction that lays before her.. Burning stables.. and barns… she is alone… endless searching for months for signs of her lost sisters and horses... trails moving North… seething hatred growing…
She opens her eyes suddenly; it is morning the door to the stable creaks open and then slowly closes, the horses are greeting the stable boys as they are starting to feed them.
