Murder Most Foul

_Word quickly spreads of the body of a man found dead in the Docks. A large crowd, including several adventurers, gathered to watch the Guards pull the corpse from the lake. A few onlookers recognized the man as Wilkins, a local dockhand.
It is said that Guard Captain Garand himself inspected the scene and is offering a reward of 500 crowns for information leading to the arrest of the murderer._

In the days following Wilkins's death, a fair number of adventurers and bounty hunters visit the Docks hoping to collect on Captain Garand's reward. By now it is clear that this murder was not random and that Wilkins was killed because he saw or got involved in something that he shouldn't have. Most of the dockhands close ranks and refuse to talk to any outsiders, including the Guard, though they are still seen drinking in their small dockside watering hole after work.
