Rebuild Request Rules
-
New policy in place, please follow the rules as listed.
1. Player must be a C-Token holder
2. Two rebuilds per character. The first generally used to fix mistakes and align the build to the character's RP. The second generally used to RP aging. (DM intiated rebuilds due to plot events are not counted, nor cosmetic)
3. Must have IC reason for the rebuilds documented, as suitable RP IG signify any changes.
4. Must be approved by the DM team
5. Denials will only be reversed through IC reasons approved by the team
6. Any DM can perform the actual rebuild, but only AFTER approval
7. Characters that have been denied a rebuild need to have the reasons for denial documented as well
8. Retroactive class rebuilds to include PrC classes will be approved on a case by case basis. (Even if you have PrC quest approval do not assume you will be allowed to delevel then relevel to include your PrC class if you manage to complete the quest)
9. Please list all before and after totals for attributes, skills and feats in the template provided. Please note dropping feats such as toughness which aid at lower lvls once at a higher lvl is not looked favourably upon.
10. Gold Dwarves, Wood and Wild elves will be required to have the correct skill points to make sure they're not exploiting the Narfell subrace system. This is (points per class level + int bonus) * (level +3). Any character of a subrace with an Intelligence penalty should have 4 points invested in Craft Trap
11. Any requests for updates should also be addressed to the DM team
12. Failure to follow the above will result in the rebuild being denied.
There is no current rebuild DM. Send your requests to any active DM or narfellstaff@gmail.com for team deliberation.
Further Information about Approved Rebuilds
Your rebuild isn't done in the server vault, it is physically done in game. Once the rebuild has been approved any DM is able to supervise it. If there changes to stats or feats at first level you will need to remake the PC at level 1. A new name will be needed. Typically people will add an extra space, a symbol stuch as - or ~ ' or remove these if the PC already had them. You should prepare prior to getting a DM to supervise. Make sure you know what skills and feats you are taking at every level. It's very easy to mess up and I recommend having a list in front of you of what to do at every level. Don't make the mistake of assigning all your skill points at the end since if you die just once you'll lose them all and have to get a DM to help you out!
Get your new PC ready first. Remember to write in your deity field and remember the examine description. Find the portrail/voiceset/skin and hair colour. These things can be time consuming and you don't want to be keeping the DM waiting to start after they've said they can do it there and then.
Once you're ready you can leave the new PC in your vault and play another PC or the old version. Ask once per hour or so to the DM channel if they have time to do an approved rebuild. You can also ask in IRC or message a particular DM who tends to play in your time zonem or reply to a questions/issues shout. If you've having a lot of trouble getting hold of a DM you can ask a PG to organise it for you.
When you get a DM they will look at the old version and write down Alignment points and XP total. They then reduce the old PC to level 1 and kill them. You log in the new one, they give it that XP total and leave you to level up. Once you tell them you are done, they will check every stat, skill point, and feat, fix your alignment points, and give you the loot from the old PC.
The rebuild will be normally be done in a DM only area. They will check every single thing before they port your character onto the normal maps. So if you have made any mistakes with skill points etc, tell them that. They can take you down a level or 2 or 3 to fix things. They will either manually give you the languages according to the rebuild or port you to the lobby to take them.

Updated: I am going to take over Rebuild DM. Thanks to Eoden for all his work in setting up the template for this. I just hope I can fill those shoes
So pretty much anything to do with changes to your character, contact me. This includes but not limited to rebuilds, restores, leto changes, vault problems, etc.

From now on, please use the following form to request a rebuild. If you need more slots for feats, skills, feats, whatever, please add them. This will give us the best idea of all the changes you wish to make, and make the rebuild request go through (or get denied) much faster.
