_My life has changed in many ways since the last entry in this journal. Almost immediately after Alana and I began to spend time together, she disappeared. I see her sometimes in my dreams… she's telling me that she cares, but the way she says it is also telling me that she's never coming back. I hope the best for her, and I pray that her goddess treats her well.
I've made many friends, some that are just as new to these lands as I was once. Some see me as a strong fighter, some see me as a good person... a few even see me as a Knight of sorts, even going so far as to call me one directly.
Soleil is a young devout of Nobanion, and she seems to be very happy with Narfell. We've never talked about what brought her here, but whatever it was, I think she's glad it happened. She has a good amount of skill with divine healing, and she always dresses in whites, browns, and golds. She spends a lot of time with the healer, Garviel, who is a bit mysterious as he is always hidden beneath his hood. She seems quite fond of me as a friend, and though she has recently seemed a bit distant, I think she sees me as a good friend.
Araendel has grown to be a good friend to me as well. An elven cleric of Corellon, he reminds me quite a bit of Soleil, in his armor of gold and white. Come to think of it, they seem to spend a lot of time together as well. Arae has gained my trust in battle multiple times, as when I am up in the thick of the fighting, my greatsword swinging heavily into my enemies, I've noticed many hang behind, healing from the shadows, or sending arrows as they see fit. Arae seems to always be either right behind me, or right next to me, keeping me off the ground and keeping my natural abilities enchanted to their fullest, so as to make me the best fighter I can be. He calls me "Brother", and as I am told, this is no small thing for an elf to refer to a human as such. I see him as a brother in battle as well, and I would trust him with my life.
Caling isn't new around here, but she's new to me. She spends a good amount of time with Thorn and Crux, as they all serve in the Norwick Militia together. She reports directly to Thorn, as he is the scout commander, I believe. She is... well, it's hard to find the correct word... but I would have to say... fun? She always seems to be ready to joke around, and though some of her pranks may end negatively towards me... (Such as pulling my pants down in front of the girls of Norwick), I can't stay upset because I believe she honestly means nothing by it. Thorn seems to think she has some type of feelings for me, but I don't see it, as she tends to treat most guys the same way. She is a good friend, though.
Apollo and Garviel. I mention them both at the same time, because many (if not most of the time) I see them together. One a cleric of Oghma, the other a cleric of... (Honestly I'm not sure... I seem to have forgotten.) They both have a lot of heart and sense about themselves. They take precautions during battle that will ensure them long and fruitful lives, and I'm glad about this.
Miss Charlotte. A noble from Waterdeep with a bit of a dark past. She is beautiful, and very proper, but these two traits are not enough to make it in a barbarian town such as Norwick. She has had a bit of trouble adjusting, but with my help, she is getting much better. She took a shopping trip with Crux and Caling the other day, and seemed to enjoy herself quite a bit. She is a good friend as well, and she has told me that she feels safe with me. Knowing this makes me feel as though I should always keep an eye out for her... just as I would any that looks to me for protection. She doesn't seem to get along with with Soleil, but I'm sure they will come around.
Crux. I know her mainly as Thorn's... lady of interest? I believe she is his girlfriend now, and I'm glad. Thorn seems to like her quite a bit, and her abilities with an axe and a suit of armor may help keep the squishy elf out of trouble. Come to think of it... all the time I've spent around Crux, and I still don't know much about her.
Eli. Thorn's little sister, she is very much a free spirit. Though, she seems to have her troubles as well. She invited Thorn and I to the Bardic College with Caling and Val for pancakes, and we had a good time at the party. Eli can talk a lot, and can be bossy when she wants to, but she's a good girl.
Master Z. The leader of the crafter's Union, He seems to have one of the most caring souls I've ever seen. A priestess of the Earthmother, just as my clan revered... He is skilled in all areas of crafting, and I look forward to learning more about him.
Thorn. Easily my best friend in these lands, I'm growing a bit worried about him. Stress is starting to get to him, and if it weren't for his time spent with Crux, I think he'd collapse of exhaustion. He needs to learn when to just let his friends handle something... though, I understand why he always feels he must handle the situation on his own. I'll have to talk to him soon.
And finally.... Sessa. She's back. I practically swallowed my tongue when I walked up from the Southern Gates, and saw her standing there... just as beautiful as she had ever been with her blue eyes smiling at me through her raven black hair. I never knew how much I missed having her around until she showed back up into my life all of a sudden. After giving her a hug, and making her promise not to disappear again, we caught up. She almost fell asleep, her head on my shoulder... the scent of her hair filling my nose with apples. It was almost as like she had never left. We walked together, held hands... and we kissed. She still reminds me of all the good I miss back home, and none of the bad.
I have much more to write about, but exhaustion is threatening to claim me. I've a mind to put out this fire and crawl into my tent for a good rest, and hopefully good dreams. However, I know how forgetful I am, so I'm going to start jotting down things that I want to write about, so I know what to write about when I open my journal next:
Cormyr
3 day gate attack
The Crafter's Union
