Gypsy Gossip
-
_In the wake of a flash snowstorm in the camp, it circulates amongst the Gali and Romani alike (thanks to the gossiping of the resident gambler) that the "arrogant, black-skinned little gnome sorcerer, Varimathras Maleficence, and his mephit, Malice, too" are not welcome in the Camp, by decree of Baba Katya. If seen in camp, the Gypsy Witch is to be told.
Prior to and during the snowstorm, some say, the gambler, his lover, the self-proclaimed Elf, and a few others were having heated words (pun intended) around the fire, with Varimathras. Tyche, with a slight frown, is heard to comment about the gnome's inability to be respectful or polite._
"The Gali and Romani are a family, and, as such, we respect each other, even in the face of vastly contradicting opinions . . . " Ty comments, smirking. "To propose that Baba Katya, our beloved and venerated elder, is a 'daft fool'"—He raises his hands and makes quote marks at the words—"at the Fires is askin' to be tossed out."
"I don't think the bath was sufficient enough to cleanse the filth off that mouthy gnome," Ty chuckles and then remarks, in Romani: "May his Road be safe and damn far from ourn."

The Gali gambler, Tyche, is one of the few who dared consume the accursed chicken . . . For a wager, of course. It is heard, though, through the laughter of the Romani, that he only later was told that the chickens had mysteriously cooked themselves. If inquiries are made to him, he responds with his trademark smirk and a snort.
"If I grow feathers, or start eating seed, or die in my sleep, I'm gonna blame Oy Roy."

A group of adventurers, including the paladin and gali Belade, headed by a bard known as Elor, headed out into the spider pass in search of a mysterious golden egg. They returned some time later, apparantly without the egg. After this, Elor had a brief conversation with Arandor about Golden Egg of the Tichocontreas. Apparantly a long-lost artifact, the Golden Egg was all that remained of a half-demon chicken that once walked the land. Referred to by Elor as "the nastiest, most foul-tempered piece of poultry ever", the Tichocontreas was defeated by an army of brave men. However, there is mention of the Night of the Flaming Chicken, and how it would herald the return of the Chick from the Abyss…

tala stealthily takes the dead chickens from the fires and leaves them near the gnolls lands across the bridge
eat that dog face I hope there is a curse on those chickens
then looking around nervously she tosses her clothes in the fire and washes in the stream near heads waterfall

_A strange occurance at the camp… leaving many of the Gali and Rom baffled. A group of chickens running wild about the camp, arranging themselves before one of the camp fires, and jumping in, cooking to their deaths...
Mallan was heard to mention some cryptic words... 'The night of the Flaming chicken' and '... Many people are going to die.'
It is unclear what he was talking about, nonetheless, few people dared touch the cooked chicken meat... For fear of some curse_

Sierra can be seen roaming around the camp in an attempt to talk to many of the Gali (if that's the right term) in an attempt to learn some of the traditional stories and songs and lore of the gypsies who live there, with little progress.
However, she continues with determination to try to make headway in her project, awakening each day, trying her best to learn what she can.
((OOC: If I could arrange it with one of the GC DMs maybe to gather some of these stories, songs or lore through forum PMs, or maybe IG, that would be cool, or if one of you could inform me of how to go about that- if you have the time! Thank you!))

Lilin Rodger became violently ill and stumbled over to communal tree locking herself in one of the bedrooms inside, refusing to leave and only letting a few people enter the room, forcing herself to rest in the best interest of her child.
-
tala seems rather pleased to have the duo in the camp and in between fights with the gnolls merriment is heard with much boasting and bragging as well as threats to the mutton chops of one man.
-
_Talk of Pie and Trouble seem rampant of late.
It seems that with the move of Nico Black came perhaps a not so unexpected element in tow._
Howdy ya'll.
Sierra grins roguishly as she drags her belongings into the camp.
-
The elf known as Bow, the quiet ranger of Mielikki, has been seen packing all of his belongings. There is talk that he has broken off his engagement with his fiancee, while others seem to think he plans on returning home, wherever that may be.
-
A dark figure is seen walking through the camp keeping his cloak pulled around him tightly on his way to speak to the King, Tero and a few others. Nico Black has appearantly moved back to the Romani camp and offered his services as a trapper to help with the gnoll threat. He sits around the fires laughing and sipping wine with the others while he speaks of the issues plaguing the camp.

Olivia hears the rumors about Peltarch forces coming to take over the camp as she does her daily business with Dart….. her mood goes from pleasant to sour in an instant
Fark those peltarch bastards! she tells Dart as he nods his head in agreement
I understand how you feel Olivia Dart says but there has been too much romn blood spilled for my liking, and if these city dirtbags can help end it, then i say let them help. Dart takes Olivia's gold to finish the transaction HEY! I did a little something to the dummies for you!
Dart tells olivia as she walks awayMoments later, Olivia can be seen training hard as usual …. there's a slight grin on her face as she swings her massive sword at the wooden combat dummies that have been shaped to look like gnolls

After a huge man forced his was past the gate guards when Star had the gates opened to let a guest out, Star was seen to forcibly eject the man at arrow point again. Judging by the state of him and the bloodsoaked bandages around his middle he hadn't responded quickly enough to her initial warning though.

While out in the forest collecting spider parts for Katya, witnesses notice something strange about the new Gali Aurelia, while faced with a particularily hard to hit spider the young elf lass was reported to bless her arrows before firing them so that they may strike their foes true, upon blessing her arrows she would fire it at her target and hit so accurately that it amazed all those who bore witness. The elf named Bow was heard to comment saying to the elf, "You are no ordinary Archer are you." Aurelia made no comment but gave him a friendly smile.

Angry words surge across the camp from over near the Swordmaster's tent. Some snatches of the outburst are more easily heard than others.
"Captives still alive"
"We should have known"
"Pale, skinny, ignorant elf "One phrase is particularly clear. "Who in the nine hells does he think he is." Perhaps this disturbance was caused by the gali who went to speak with Tero some hours earlier - but the only elf in that group was a female - so perhaps not.
<< edit for clarity: the voice was not Tero's >>

_Tremors rocked the earth and there seemed a great commotion around the collapsed mines in the inner camp. Several Gali were seen fleeing from it, wounded, and seemed quite worried.
Many travellers arrived to help with whatever was stirred in the dusty mines, though for most, it was unclear as to what was going on… The mines were scoured at length, and eventually things quieted down, and everyone left...
The Gali, Constantin warned Master Tero of the possibility of a threat greater than shrieking mushrooms in the mines... Arandor and several Gali spread the word that the mines are unsafe, to keep your children well away from them, and that none should enter them alone. Some say that the Drow have found their way in... But most claim it to be another spider infestation.
Whatever happened in the mines seems to have people quite worried, yet despite the dark times... Arandor refuses to let it worry him, maintaining a quiet vigil over the mines and Gnoll bridge most nights._

_The pale elf called Keira has become a more frequent visitor to the Camp recently, often seen in conversation with Sy'wyn following his return.
Around the fires she mentions seeing an old ghostly robed woman walk into the Hidden Pass and up the cliffs on stairs that weren't there._
-
Soft words are whispered amongst the camp about the odd red glow that came from Rass' hill not long ago. When the merchants first came in with mentions of winged demons on the hill the Gali Sy'wyn was seen to stand and look at the glow, and many heard mention it was to close to the camp. He left out to investigate, along with his brother Alvar, his cousin Llach, the Merchant Nico, and the bard Sierra. No one is quite sure of what happenedon the hill, the rumor varies from teller to teller. There were shouts from the hill, and two calls for help, and a large bear was seen dragging the body of Sy'wyn back into the camp and straight to Katya's tree, pale, bloodied, and not breathing. No one is sure what happened after. Some they saw Sy'wyn walking back out of the tree and into the pass a dark look on his face, and no words uttered. Others that he never left the tree at all. Rumors that a troll was seen wandering the pass in search of a body were attributed to Sy'wyn trying to find Alvar's body. Some even make mention that a dark cloaked elf that shimmered with strength appeared and walked into the tree, and that this was Sy'wyn's god come to claim him. Llach was seen coming from the tree, tears flowing down his face. No matter who swears to seeing what, and where, and when, one fact carries through. No one has seen Sy'wyn since.

Oath Takers around the fires witnessed a man reading aloud the inscription upon a small silver sword. As he did so, the infernal runes disappeared and fire licked across the clearing. In the centre of the flames stood a man with a tail. In the moments that followed his vanishing east several anxious voices all said one name.
Thyrm Cardea.

Those entering or leaving the pass into the Gypsy Camp hear a faint soft melody coming from the direction of the watchfire. Though obviously well out of practice, or the pipes well out of tune, the melody has a sad and distant melancholy to it. Those few who climb up to the fire find the piping stopped long before they draw near, and find no one near the fire, though footprints lead off through the snow.
