Jiyyd Rumors
-
Rumors abound of the eastlanders on the Nars attacking a large caravan traveling from Peltarch to Norwick, and it being defended by Legion members and other brave souls from Jiyyd.
It is said that upwards of a hundred bandits fell in the conflict, before the wagons reached Norwick.

Word has it driders, creatures of pure evil, forged in the image of a Forbidden goddess, attacked Eastlanders just cutting through them, and eventually even a lone drider found its way to Jiyyd, burning down all the grass on the plains, destroying trees and hurling around huge stones. Also it seems some people were planning to go visit the driders and bring death into their very lair. Although it seems some people speak more about planning to go there, then actually going there. Two members of the sisterhood apparently made sure no driders dared to remain outside of their hiding holes, following a trail of um destruction er right er to um the er entrance um of er their er hole.

Rumors fly about the small village of Ormpur and it's recent state. Some say that the place is nothing more than a ghost town now. The few caravans that head that way report no one in the town. Some say that Just'ene has even visited herself with the help of some adventurers and has found nothing. Whatever has happened to the small village has gotten her interested it seems.

A white, misty spirit is seen every now and then. While seeing a spirit can often be unnerving, this spirit seems to radiate benevolance. Those who've been around Jiyyd for a while will recognize the fact that this spirit has been around for a while, though he seems more frequent these days. The Legion has been seen quite often to converse with the spirit.

Rumor has it something shiney was seen at the bottom of the jiyydian swamp's cave, but the last group going after it came back with a bit of webbing on them. Is there something actually there, or is this just a dead rumor passed on a bit to much?
((this is meant for a lowbie/newbie group as a PC run event, if the server hasn't crashed or anything gotten yet So i'll kindly ask higher level PC's or oldies that can just run there to not pick up anything they find kind of…strange ))

One Sierra Ju'ent, while apparently preparing to set off on a journey to her parent's home in Tethyr, seems to have fainted in the Regal Whore, showing the symptoms of a high fever. When she did not regain consciousness, the staff of the Regal Whore carried her to the Healer's cottage, and deposited her there until a time when she might be collected and taken elsewhere. All attempts thus far to relieve the fever or revive her have failed.

Whispers spread of the "Sisterhood" traveling to Ormpur to search for survivors. All the sisters that left on the trip returned, some bruised and beaten, speaking of hungry wolves and frost giants. Nyda is seen carrying a little girl into town with her.

Rumors fly that a patrol canvassing the remains of Ormpur in an attempt to discover what became of it's citizenry was assaulted from gates and walls by a large group of trolls.
Major Lyte of the Legion, who has often been seen pulling together groups to discover whatever it was that killed off the town's people, hypothesises that these might be the creatures who attacked the town, as they dropped over the walls and could have well caught the townfolk off guard.
She claims all the attacking trolls were killed and burned, and word carries that the party, consisting of Pete, Lilly, Riama, Silinia, and Evia, also explored the caves and glens in the region, to make sure no more of these creatures were hiding nearby.

_Rumors spread of a fight breaking out over a giant chicken man with an apple in the place of his crotch, and ribbons instead of a rooster's plume. No one's exactly sure why he was dressed like this, but word is that the man who was all but clucking is the one and only Rolan Benthor.
Rolan's sister, arriving at the end of the practical joke, seemed to have not to have taken it in the good humor that everyone else did, pulling blade in threatening manner towards a number of people over the joke.
Later that day, several Jiyydians were seen chasing after a naked gnome, who carried a journal writing down several notes during his streaking episode, which may or may not have had something to do with a self moving exploding archery target, which was intended to pay a visit to the orcs.
Rumor confirms that a target has still yet to make it to the orcs, though several Jiyydians have been temporarily blinded, turned into popsicles, and struck deaf in the process._

The redhead known as Zed, Cee or Red occasionally speaks of big nasty worgs and how an orc pretended to be nice and friendly to feed her to these and how those big nasty scary worgs were trying to eat travellers all over the road, but Elmael and her took care of them even though it was night and demons lurked all around them in the shadows.

Aarron can be seen entering Jiyyd with several workers and finding Nyda and carrying her out on a stretcher to Peltarch, a look of great concern on his face.
-
Those who seek Nyda have had little luck recently, on the rare occassions she ventures out it is obvious that she is quite ill. The cold she was fending off for some time seems to have developed into a nasty hacking cough and she is obviously suffering with it. When asked why she hasn't used Selune's blessings to rid herself of it she changes the subject smoothly.

_… from time to time the huge half-half orc with a golden and black armor can be seen walking about in the Jiyyd area, still with two backpacks on his back. While struggeling with the weight of the overfilled backpacks he seems to be looking for someone, and often stops travellers to ask if they have seen a human adventurer, missing or looking for their items as they walk through the gates...
Also the rumor states, he spends some of his time near Jiyyd picking flowers, making bouquet's with various colors. On occation he is seen handing these flowers to a particular watchman (woman), who normally holds the western gates clear of trouble. Allways he seems very shy and clumsy, spittle dripping slightly from his half open mouth, with an uncommon reddish-green color on his face as he approaches the watchman (woman), clearly intimidated by her striking half-orcish looks..... to give her the gathered bouquets.
To those who knows him they know he even named his biggest axe after her...._

… returning from the orc lands a band of three companions walked through the gates of Jiyyd. One, a very large and particulary ugly half orc, was first seen looking for Basha, then he was heard muttering something about careless people who left their belongings unguarded out in the wilds. On a closer look one could se the halforc wearing a black and golden armor carrying two backpacks on his back. He was also muttering something about him going to hold it for a time incase the rightful owner should return and crave the things in the pack.
//Kronk now holds the inventory to a backpack found on the orc plains just south-west of Jiyyd. Due to it beeing heavy he will hold it for one week from today before selling the items or giving them away//

_For the past three or four tendays, give or take, there has been a man dressed in a dark green, hooded cloak about town, mostly inhabiting a stool in the Regal Whore and partaking in the bar's wares. A casual glance can surmise that the man is of a slightly above average height, a slim build, and has a full, black, trimmed goatee with an strange crimson sheen. While shadowed beneath his hood mostly, and completely invisible when he is hunched over a table with a drink, one can sometimes catch his eyes – black and sullen -- and see the red-orange glimmer of flame in them.
He came into Jiyyd in a casual fashion, giving everybody and everything a calm once-over and nodding to himself a bit, seeming to assess and appraise the town. He sometimes speaks, in Chondathan or Common, and greets some faces with the language of the gypsies, Romanji. Cards or dice can sometimes be found idly shuffled or rolled in his hands while he sits outside on the benchs around the well.
The man, who tells people to just call him "Red," claims to be a "travelling gambler," and appears to be in an addled state of mind, often daydreaming if not drinking. Appearing to have a close or old association with the druid Oreth and his wife, the archdruidess Fadia, and the bards Penny and Laerlilly, those who know the easily-uncovered truth of the matter are aware of the fact that the long-missing Gali Tyche Fortuna has returned to Narfell.
"The Gambler always finds the Road back to Luck," he has been heard to comment, in Romanji._

The attacks on Jiyyd by a tremendous demon and the coincidental arrest of the shapeshifting bard Mirkali have spurred whispers and wild speculation.

_Rumors amoungst people in Jiyyd say that a man and a women called number two left jiyyd in high spirits, saying they where off to go gove tea and pie to banites. Those in the farmlands around Jiyyd could see them having pie and tea with two people near the crossroads. After a while the one of the women left leaving the man talking to the banites. After a while a small good looking elf appears and joins in the chat. It is said that the banite man and the other decided to have a duel for no real reason. The nonbanite one this easily.
Shortly after when the female banite left a man in darkgreen and black armor appeared. After a breif discussion he tells the man in blue and black to draw a wepon. After a small fight the banite leaves untouched leaving the leigonaire bleeding in the snow. The small elf then helped the man back to town and to healing wonders. Shortly after the leigonaire comes out looking in a very bad mood and headint to the leigon halls after threatening a banite half orc to get out of town before he killed him_

Some of the villagers speak in hushed voices about the Dark Enchantress and about how an elf gave her a weapon, and how she then just disappeared.

A note is attatched to the wall of the Regal… inn, written in a neat, bold script:
Competent scribes are wanted, to copy books and take dictations. Craftsmen who are competent in the art of bookbinding are wanted as well. The payment for this service includes coin and possibly magical instruction. Speak with Genzir Malark if you are interested.
OOC: if somebody, a DM perhaps, could suggest a price for copying books (how much per book) I'd be grateful.

The redhead, known as Zed, Cee or Red, can be seen asking around town for small jobs, that would come up regularly and wouldn't need a lot of training.
