Jiyyd Rumors

_After the latest attack of the spider demons, Sinu'selira was seen crouching under a tree next to the archer tower mumbling coarse curses in elvish and breaking a considerable amount of her black, barbed arrows in half.
Later she dragged one of the half-eaten corpses of the brave Jiyyd guards to Vroka's, and soon after that retreated somewhere with a book on elven magic tightly clung on her hands._
-
_Nasty spidery horrors with the voices of children scaled the walls in the night and slew some guards before they were slain, in turn, by Genzir and Sinu'selira. Popular opinion blames the drow, since the attack happened at night, and… the things look a bit like spiders.
Jerr and Keira missed that particular attack but something had beaten the elf quite badly, since Jerr was tending her various injuries with magic and mundane healing._

@a2e05c8a49=Karnivor:
…Instead of being jailed, the troublemaker was fined and escorted to the Legion Hall, to spend some quality time in the cells there....
Damian frowns after catching word of this and is heard to comment:
The law must be followed. There are to be no exceptions.
Soon afterwards he leaves a message with Justine discussing the issue

As stories of the last few days are passed around and compared by the townsfolk, certain details become clear: these horrors came in waves, a new wave of them every night.
On the first night, the horrors were beaten back by at the approach to the plains.
The second night, a powerful host guarded the town, while a small band of wizards went out to meet the creatures on the plains and, after a request for back-up was answered only by one druid, annihilated the horrors in a great show of fire, lightning, and giant green hands.
The third night, nobody went out to the plains, though there was some fear of drow on the road or an attack on Norwick, and word has it the Helmite camp was destroyed.
The fourth night, a powerful host guarded the plains and brought down the final, gargantuan attacker.

_Jiyyd was bombarded by spiders and demons for the past few nights. Including one very large demon that took almost all the known heroes of Narfell to destroy. Several heroes were slain throughout the course of the nights, which included: Seth, Jeremy, Sywyn, Raver, and Abner. They bravely fought off spiders, horrors, and a nightmare, juggernaught demon that came from the spider cave in the plains. Drow were also spotted, but they did not fight anyone directly.
It seems the dark elves have become very serious after the death of the witch._

The druid Wolf is seen walking through Jiyyd toward the south gate on a daily bases. For several hours, druidic chanting is heard on the other side of the gate. It seems he is making the earth rise into the form of a wall. When asked about it he simply says, "Defense." Each day the wall seems to get bigger and bigger, and when he finishes a portion for the day he looks very worn.
-
Upon hearing that the drow was slain Juster immeadiately begins searching for those present to ask if the witch was searched for ears.
-
_Maybe ye should find some.

shakes head at Jeremy " They aren't mundane, she was resisting the damage through spells or armor or something, and how would Kenton have faired alone against her if there wasn't a suggestion to go protect the sisterhood? I recall him and others being turned to stone on more than one occasion. Besides, not everyone has the coin or the fancy magics to have "great and powerful" weapons and spells like ye."
-
_Jeremy laughs at Senria's comment.
"Oi lass, I don't be knowin' 'bout e'eryone else, but swingin mundane swords at a witch who can magically deflect 'em every bloody time dosen't seem all that useful to me. Maybe if ye threw rocks at her it woulda been damn more useful."_
-
snickers and shakes her head a bit she can be heard saying something along the lines of "Figures he would take all the credit…...guess it didn't matter that I was there to help kill her or that it was my idea to head out to check the sisterhood in the first place...."

Rumors stir as to what measures to increase security around town might be with the recent death of this Drow witch. More notable by Lily. "Don't know 'ow much 'as changed in years past… buh the last time we took'un down... we ended up stirin' a 'ornets nest of em. They tend ta look for any reason ta attack these days... certainly this'll peek their curiosity no?" Lily looks to find out from Smasha and the others as to what can be done by the towns folk to help in what's sure to be a retaliation of terms.

_It seems that the female Drow wizard has finally been defeated.
After an epic battle with some adventurers outside of Jiyyd, most notably the Cerulean Knights, Captain Seth & Jeremy Steel, and Elyl, a cleric of Torm, she was finally held by Elyl's priestly power, dispelled by Seth's arcane ability and last but not least, given a new hole to breathe out of by Jeremy's enchanted sword.
Cleaning his sword of the Drow's blood, Jeremy and the other adventurers headed into Jiyyd with the body, which ended up being on the ground near the campfire with Jeremy's feet on it.
As the sun rose, Jeremy, Seth, Elyl & Xilo headed north to Peltarch, the body over Jeremy's shoulder._

Rumors spread of a female Drow that many refer to as a witch cackiling in the NArs pass about incompitent Male Surfacer mages. It seems yet another attack was attempted on the sisterhood.
Before dawn more loud noises of squeeling like a girl were heard about spider webs on them Many mention The General himself as the one doing the squeeling

Piles of wood and now ore are seen being stacked about town. It appears that a number of legion soldiers and officers are working as daylight allows to stockpile as much as can be mustered from the surrounding lands. Milshot is seen now and again speaking with some of the town watchmen who themselves are seen, as duty to the town allows, sorting thru the piles and tallying the supplies. Milshot asks that any who are willing and able to join the growing force and happily supplies any who need with food, drink, and a smile as they lend their efforts.
-
Private Milshot is seen moving in and out of the west gate pulling a small hand cart along behind him. With each return trip back into town, the small cart is loaded with dead wood. He heads towards the legion hall and heads out again. He is seen doing nothing but this as daylight allows and taking brief rests now and again to restore his strength with a short meal at the inn.

((which tall blonde barbarian axe wielding smiler? I assume Maya, but she and Ragnhild are damned near twins))
-
_A stout dwarven lass trundles into town and removes a suit of half-plate in sundry shades of pink and lavender. She adjusts the somewhat ephemeral - and somewhat damp - white dressing gown she wore underneath, it's low-cut decolletage made nearly scandalous by the overly large proprotions of her chest. She pulls a package from her pack and heads up to the top of the archer tower by the west gate, her quarry known to sit within it's shadow's upon occasion.
When the tall blonde barbarian woman with the big waraxe and bigger smile (Maya) next sits on the ground below, she can expect a shower of fresh wildflower petals, and an attentive ear might hear the soft chant of dwarven prayers coming from above._
Edit: To address questions as to the identity of her target.

_Everyone's favourite loud-mouth Grak seems to have managed to get himself in trouble yet again. After spouting his usual verbal abuse at the people around the fire, the half-orc waved his spiked club at a female hin, whereupon Legionaire Lilly intervened, decking the lout with a well-aimed right to his jaw.
Grak then screamed for the guards, his own crewmates less than willing to come to his aid. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on inclination, Watchwoman Basha was unusually leniant, appearing to have a soft spot for the "handsome" half-orc. Instead of being jailed, the troublemaker was fined and escorted to the Legion Hall, to spend some quality time in the cells there.
Other members of the Black Sails are reported to have been quite drunk, though not disorderly in town later on._

*logs, wagons of stone, dried wolf meat, logs, deer steaks, and yet more logs can be seen being rolled, drug and hauled through Jiyyd, from east and west, by hard working legion soldiers in black and blue.
This has been going on for weeks and weeks, and it seems to some that those legion folk must have wood enough to build a whole new town.
The wagons are seen to stop in front of the big stone legion hall, where they are unloaded into neat piles under the supervision of officers barking orders, and they head back out the gates, noisily raising clouds of dust.
Most people assume it's some manner of orc defensive measures being planned….but a few alert citizens wonder aloud if there might be a pyramid going to be built to house the eventual corpse of the massive Legion Major General, when he someday leaves this mortal coil.*
