Missing!

  • An older woman comes running into town and straight for the guards.

O' 'elp me! Me son be missin'! He went ta look on the cows as they be restless o' late, wat wit' it bein' close ta matin' season…'n he nay came back...it's been two days since the lad 'as gone. 'elp me find 'im!

  • (( Though increasing his own patrols in and around Norwick, Celad does not have much hope of catching the killer without help. He has been seen slipping out of town to the crossroads area alone, wearing a comoners outfit as a poor disguise. ))

  • (( Celad was absent from this weeks fight night, he spent the time patrolling the farmlands and the surrounding areas))

  • tips her head listening to the Yngdir and Celad speak

I will begin adding a trip to the Crossroads to my patrol regimine just to keep an eye on things. I agree with Yngdir, she is running out of time and places to move. While we wait she could be murdering more innocents. I think we need to start thinking of setting this trap soon.

she looks to Celad and takes a drink from a waterskin before speaking

Have you had any luck contacting the Colonel and getting more help from the rest of the Militia? I would think our superiors would very much like to catch this villain. It may sound odd, but whichever 'faction' does apprehend her and hold her in their dungeons would gain considerable political clout. worth considering no doubt.

  • ((Celad smiles at Yngdir))
That is all I want. I do not expect, or ask, the legion to help patrol Norwick, that is the Militia's job. All I ask is that they keep an eye on the Nars and crossroads area. Maybe they will get lucky.

  • Nodding slightly, Yngdír gives Celad his answer.

"_The Legion cannot and will not police Norwick. It would be better if you thought of the Legion as military auxillaries to suppliment the Militia during attacks; our objective was to aid in the defense against the Hungry One and the Drow.

If the murderer is caught by the Legion outside of Norwick or Peltarch, for instance at the Crossroads, she will be detained within our dungeons until either factions claims her. Or escorted to the nearer of the two._"

  • (( Celad sighs deeply))
Yngdir, I could not agree with you more. I have requested help for additional patrols, and I have asked for help here as well. I know I am only one man. I know I can never do this by myself. Our main advantage over the killer is that she is alone. And we are not.

What we need is someone to speak to some of the other groups here in Norwick and ask for their help as well. Groups like the Legion, and the Druids Circle. Your a member of the Legion are you not Yngdir? And is not the Legion dedicated to protecting the inhabitants of these lands? I ask you to bring a request for aid. Perhaps with their help we will have enough people to cover all of her possible routes.

(( He waits expectantly for an answer))

  • A shake of his head to indicate 'no' suggests that Yngdír has not recieved word from Peltarch. He then offers his thoughts.

"Too many lives will be spent if the only action you are choosing to take Celad, is to wait for the opportunity. She is running out of places to hide and roads to travel, if I had any say in your plans; it would be to suggest that you watch the Crossroads with extra vigil."

  • (( Celad lets the others know that he has spoken to Bel'Mar, who has agreed to help with the spells of invisibility. He then speaks to Yngdir, asking if he has heard anything from the Peltarch Guard about Jaelle?))

  • pausing to consider all of this, she speaks after a time

Regardless of whom should be the 'bait', a look of worry quickly alights on her face and just as quickly leaves I will still offer my help as I am sure Torm will in catching whomever is behind these murders.

  • (( Celad nods and gives a grim smile))

I have thought about that Thorn,, that is why I asked Colonel Albryanna for help from the militia. If we put extra patrols out on most of the roads, and leave an area of our choice relatively unpatrolled she is certain to become frustrated. This woman seems to need to kill. By now she will know we are after her. She will not go near those areas that are heavily patrolled. This means she will start to get desperate for a kill. Like a drunk that needs his wine. Our "victim" will be to irresistable.

And Alestra, I understand your positon. But, One, she wants to bed a man before she kills him, you obviously are not a man. And two, I am going about this as if it could be anybody. There is a chance, no matter how small and remote, that it might not be Jaelle. I will not risk making a mistake with what might be our only chance.

  • oi Thorn haven a guds point, how wes knowin dey taken de baits no matters ow its bein, wes tinkin its bein de lass but its may nae be, nae bein guds idea ta havin us all at de traps when dey runnin round killin sumones else.

  • After a little thought, Thorn sets his tea down, slides away from the bar and stands up, turning to Celad.

"I can easily be a guardian angel in this.. but, there is a flaw in this plan. What would make her pick the 'victim' we're watching? Why? When? Its easy to set a trap, but the trap is useless without knowing what bait to put in it. As of now.. her targets are.. all very much different. Its just something to consider."

  • (( The first real smile in days crosses Celad's face))

Thank you, I am probably going to need a few blessings.

(( He grins as he puts his arm aound her, and looks to the others))

Anybody want to be my Guardian Angels?

  • Syclya walks into the bar and sidles up to Celad. After getting a quick rundown of what has been said and suggested. She speaks:

While I think this could work, I am going to admit, this will not be as easy as it may seem. What if I lose you to this murderer Celad, if the plan fails in any way? frowning deeply as she says this Regardless, I will support your wishes, if you think this the best way to catch her, then so be it. I cannot help with the disquising, apart from helping you pick out proper farmer-esque clothing. But I can bless you with Torm's graces to help you should things go sour. she smiles faintly then and puts a hand on his shoulder

  • (( Celad listens to Yngdir, nodding his head))

Of course you did the right thing, but I bet they do not catch her. And, what if we are wrong? I know it seems unlikely, but do we dare chance another innocent life? I for one would rather lose some sleep hanging out for a few days on some stretch of road hoping to snare a murderer. Then to ever have to look into a mothers eyes and tell her I failed.

I could use some help, I need someone to talk to the locals and ask them to keep watch for her. And I need people willing to watch over me, while I play the bait. And I need some one to help disguise me.

But please understand, even if some think this foolish, I will still do this. I can do nothing else until we know one way or another who the killer is.

  • "The Peltarch Guards were informed already." Yngdír finally confesses.. "It would have been foolish to go about it any other way; if there's even the possibility that Jaelle is the murderer, and in Peltarch then it is better to have their Guards on alert. There is now a warrent for her arrest, if she is innocent she will be released. If she is not then the murders will stop. You will have to forgive me for acting independantly, but in this case lives are the price of hesitation."

  • Labur listens as Celad tells the story

hmmm….wells maybe wes needin ta informin de gaurds o de cities ta be on de looks out fur de lass. If de findin er keepin er ta bein questioned nods just tellin peoples ta bein on de look outs fur ers. Mes tinkin its bein bout 20 coin fur posters per cities nae not expensive ta findin de killers!

  • (( please see the post at the bottom of page 2 🙂 ))

  • Oi lad, mes knowin me just comin inta dis ba ow yas tinkin its be dis miss Jaelle, aint she bein part of de red cloaks dat protectin dis cities? if de killers bein smartnuffs ta killin in de cities witout no ones seen yas tink dey be able ta smellin outs a traps. Mes tinkin wes lookin at des targets n tryins ta findin whys des peoples were ttacked ta figurin out de nextin targets.

  • (( Celad looks around the gathering. His usual cheerful expression displaced by a look of cold anger.))

I know we can not go to Peltarch, and I know that there are some people who still think there is a chance that the murderer is not Jaelle. Thats fine with me. All I want is for the one who is guilty, to pay. Even now I am hearing of rumors that a third killing has happened in Peltarch itself. Now whether it is related to the others? I do not know.

But, I do know that someone who kills for the pleasure of it, as this bitch seems to do, will be out looking for another victim. I say we give her one.

((His eyes scan the group, settling on Thorn))

See, I can avoid being rash when I have to. ((small slightly twisted grin))

Just in case it is Jaelle, we need someone either she does not know or a very good disguise. We will surround the "victim" with people under spells or potions of invisibility. The only real queston is where? Where will she strike next?
    ((Looks around the group again))

Any ideas? Anything at all? We need to do this together. Us, the Hold, Spellweaver, the Circle, even Oscura. If we work together we can catch her.
((Sits back and waits for their response))
