A Celebration and Speech
-
As per tradition, after the victory of defeating the drow attack, Norwick rolls out kegs of ale and food in abundance. As the night rolls on and things reach the right point, where people are just into the celebration enough to enjoy it but not far enough in to be incoherent, Aramuil steps up to the cliff overlooking the town center near the Great Hall. A horn is blown and as the people gather about, he adjusts his finery, a suit of white to match his cloak that is finely attired. Perhaps it is the ale or the excitement of victory, but he looks far more noble and wise than usual. Aramuil waits for quiet before he begins his speech his voice seeming more forceful focused than ever:
"I would first like to praise the brilliance and courage of Albryanna and all of the Norwick militia for guiding us to victory against the drow!"
Aramuil waits for the inevitable applause before continuing.
"And then I would like to extend Norwick's thanks to all those who came to aid us from Peltarch, the Legion, the Dwarven Hold and the Silver Valley!"
Again, Aramuil pauses for any forthcoming applause.
"This is a great victory for Norwick!"
Again, a pause.
"More than that though, this is a great victory for Narfell!" A very brief pause "We have shown the drow that if they dare to attack us at the surface, we shall make them pay many times over for each life they take! They will not dare to strike at us again like this and now they scurry back to their hole!"
Aramuil pauses a longer moment.
"This victory shows exactly what we, Norwick, Peltarch, The Legion, the Dwarven Hold and the Silver Valley can do when we work together. I want a stronger Narfell, a Narfell where we do not need to ever fear the attack of murderers like the drow! I want a Narfell united as one nation! I want a Narfell that is united in a council that will unite its military power into a force capable of defeating any enemy! I want victory for Narfell, I want victory for Norwick! Are you with me?!"
Aramuil halts his speech, gauging the reaction of the crowd.
((Before the speech, Aramuil cast Empowered Eagle's Splendor, Empowered Owl's Wisdom and Empowered Fox's Cunning on himself to improve his public speaking abilities, trashing a food ration when I'm next IG to represent the casting.))
-
Appearing out of nowhere to deal with the drow, Raryldor disappears once more when the smoke clears and the claxons die down, a beheaded priestess in his wake.
-
After the battle, a weary Danika was seen darting in and out of the barracks, checking on others, and offering everyone her familiar bright smile. After an all-too-brief catnap, she disappeared into the woods once more. If the scout knew anything of revelry or speeches, she made no outward sign.
-
- Milith takes the time to approach all the druid members and all those that showed up to the battle to thank them personally for there major assistance *
Know well my friends that even if Aramuil does not recognize you, that the Milita has not forgotten your friendship or assistance in this matter, your help and warning is the only reason we won this day. I will never forget your friendship to me or the town of Norwick. Thank you all again!
-
The Wizard Celebring remains in town after the assault long enough to share some wine and a few words. He tries on different smiles for people that approach him, as if they were masks, seeming no more or less happy than he was before the battle began. He chooses to drink with the other Defenders to celebrate.
-
Belma'r runs through the festivities with a mug of ale in one hand and a bottle of wine in the other
"Woooo go Norwicks! Huzah! To bad I missed its and stuff.
Three Cheers for butt kickin da Drow!
Hip hip!
Hooray!Hip hip!
Hooray!Hip hip!
Hooray! He rushes to a table to hear the stories of the attack form the defenders, Laughing and merry making all the while.
-
Come now people! There were a -lot- of defenders. I'm sure if Aramuil remembered the druids, he would've mentioned them.
Let's celebrate instead of being all irritated. Everyone knows the druids helped and that the others mentioned did as well. Now, where is the Silverymoon ruby? They best have it here or I'm going to be very huffy…
Ronan wanders around the area in search for his beloved Silverymoon Ruby..
-
Aelthas stands in the back for the speech and celebration after, quietly sipping from a bottle of milk. After an hour or so of watching the others celebrate, he heads quietly out of the Grapevine and to the north.
-
Hammerhand, walking around with a slight limp since taking a poisoned arrow to the leg, is found in the inn with Maya, clearly more interested in drinks and food than speeches.
-
Engrossed in the passion and revelry of the celebrations, Syclya frowns a little at the lack of recognition the druid Circle received. She can be seen seeking them out, personally thanking them for their help, "It was an honour and privilege of fighting alongside you all…I consider anyone of the Circle a friend. Pay no mind to the particulars of the speech, let us celebrate our victory, together as friends...dare I say, as a family? Come, I will get us a round of ale's, that we may drink long and deep as comrades!" she downs the last of her quarter full ale stein and gives a holler of victory
-
Gives an unlady like responce to the speech involving a particular finger of her left hand then follows Jerrick out
-
The recently married Uljas glances at the long legs, and brings Maya a bottle of three more drink.
-
Maya doesn’t seem to care about the speech, but instead spreads her long limbs about a chair or two in the inn, and shares drinks and laughs with those who will drink and laugh with her.
-
Absent from the celebration is one stout dwarf with an affection for chocolate. Rather those who pass by the farmlands will be quick to note that Telli perches atop the hill with Chauntea's Altar. She carefully sets some items atop the altar one bye one. First is a hand blade reeking of disease and decay. Next a quiver of arrows dipped in scorpions venom. And finally a few bullets covered in a thick mucus membrane smelling dangerously like cobra's venom. She takes a knee before the altar offering prayers of thanksgiving before a shaft of light comes down atop the altar and its contents rendering them to dust.
"Danks yuhs miss Chauntea fer keepings dis town safes and pertectedededs. Keeps Telli's broders and sisters prepared and on da ready as dis is prolly juss one a many many more attackededededs by ems bastads Drow. Wasn't Telli's timedededs ta dies and meet'cha in yer place of livings fereva… and... dat sorta makededs Telli sads... buh... der obviously reason stills here suckings in da air I breathedededs. Let Telli's mind be clears... and Telli's hand strongs... May Telli's feet be firm like big oak tree roots... Amens!"
Dusting off her thighs as she stands she turns folding her arms across her bosom watching down to the spectacle and lights filling the evening with cheer and merriment. Her eyes occasionally glance to the southern gates from time to time.
-
*_Marty Joins in on the celebrations, donning her green dress, doing the occasional dance and drinking a little too much ale. She tries not to pay much attention to disgruntled comrades or to Aramuil's "_I want" speech. To her the sweetness of the victory cannot be made sour by political opportunism nor her failure to gain any personal glory.
-
((Double post :x ))
-
Albry shakes her head slightly at Aram's lack of recognition for the Circle and the Wolves, and takes it upon herself to hunt them in the crowds and thank them personally.
-
Celad,,avoids the drunken strike from Benji and offers him some genuine dwarvin stout
-
Jerrick grins at Benji, and puts his hand on Malika's shoulder, being heard to say after Aramuil's speech a single line.
Wanting victory for Narfell has precious little to do with him, I'll be with whoever it takes.
He makes no mention of the Circle of Quercatha Terr, the Wolves of Narfell, or the Mercenaries Jerrick hired out of his own pocket.
He merely shakes his head, ignores the food and drink, and heads out.

@0732cc30af=beechhawk:
Celad is heard to grumble,,"I suppose he just happens to know the perfect person to lead this new nation. "
Benji cuffs Celad on the knee and grins
<g>Fark me
You're a downer. You know what cures that? More ale.
He tries to flag down some more ale</g>
