New Spiritual Advisor Appointed
-
Raisa can only shake her head as she's greated with rumors while performing daily chores among the farmhands. "How often has Calendel worked among you? Will those voices of the Militia suspect him enough to deny him - and you - even that? You would think they would welcome a Chauntean cleric if they wished the best for the town, if they should have any say at all. It is not as if they are required to welcome him into their barracks."
-
Syclya can be seen walking out of the Friar's early one morning. Looking around she spots a carefully stylized parchment neatly attached to a signpost in the middle of town that reads:
"_To all citizens and passers-by of the Township of Norwick:
We, the high council of the Township of Norwick are pleased to decry that Syclya Latonein, Priestess of Torm and Squire to the Order of the Divine Shield has recently been appointed as an honorary town healer. She will be working closely with and in assistance to Calendel Engevais.
We would like to make it known that Syclya is also available for healing services and can be found regularly in and around the township of Norwick should any need arise.
Signed an indiscernable signature follows_
smiling slightly on seeing the letter, she dons her cloak and rests her gilded silver staff on her right shoulder and walks off into the bustle of morning activity in central Norwick
-
Hearing all this fuss over one Legion, Wolf just shakes his head and congratulates Calendal when he sees him. He also warns Cal to be careful of heavily armored assassins…
-
Kerrith was not in the Inn at the time, but rumours filter to her eventually of the rough situation.
"Hells I moved to Norwick to get away from the Legion. And I -am- a militia healer. If Lucid wants spiritual advice tell him to come to me not some poncey legion wetback. I give it a fortnight before the new Spiritual Advisor is having a one to one with his goddess whilst the worms eat the body."
-
Dwin gets up from a shadowy table in the corner where he was "entertaining" two young bearded lasses from the nearby Dwarven Hold.
What confuses me here… is that I coulda sworn the Legion had a .. what was it the general called it? …a self imposed "ban" on Norwick for the Legion?
Fer a lil muddy town that yer general dont give two shiites about, it seems that his flock is sure interested in spendin' time here... even takin jobs fer the Chancellor.
Dwin shrugs and looks back to his ladies.
C'mon lasses… party is movin to the barracks. I know ya were friendly with me cousin. Let me show ya what a REAL dwarven hammer is.

((I would not have done said schmoozing if Kalith was present at the time.))
-
JKalith flashes an impish grin at Genzir
Quite an amusing speech from a group that bans individuals for the acts of others though the individuals have always dealt lawfully with them. Tell you what, when your people start acting reasonably then you can come and lecture. Untill then you are just another two sided legionnaire speaking with a forked tongue.
So not only do we have a Legionnaire here, we have a healer with questionable loyalties.
So yes Legionnaire, it bothers us.
Kalith then tosses a few coins to the innkeeper
Here, have a drink on the militia before your long way home. And tell Grag not only does the Militia have better manners then legionnaires, but so do Banites.
::looks about::
Come on men, time to see about patrolling the Nars again.
Kalith heads out with a few Militia

I assume this rule also applies to Norwick:
@756948b111=shadevar:
((Please do not assume what NPC's do or say. This goes as well for other rumors that I've seen happening before. Whether or not an NPC response is/has been given, to any extent… players cannot decide what NPC actions will be. ...
I do not mind seeing rumors that "Biswan was seen chasing a rodent", but anything of more crucial importance should be left up to the DMs. For such, absence of the DM's and time should be taken into account.))// If a DM wants to play this out IG, giving everybody a chance to respond appropriately, like I said, I'd be up for that.
I spoke to the Norwick SDM before I posted and got his approval. Game on.

Or just tell me the outcome of Genzir's attempt at shmoozing. But just because Dwin is the militia captain, that doesn't make all militia little puppets or clones. They may see things a bit differently.

Stopping in for more of the Boarshead's ham, Genzir chats it up with the patrons a bit more than usual, saving an extra helping of his natural charm, good humor and courtesy for any militia members that happen to be about. When the latest gossip about the new town healer comes up, he shakes his head in wide-eyed disbelief.
"Ilmater's mercy, I can't believe anybody cares that much about the town employing one healer who happens to be in the Legion. I honestly can't believe it. It's not like he's in the militia. He's … a town healer. He prays to Chauntea, but the way some people talk about it you would think he prayed to Grag."
Laughing out loud at that last thought, he turns to the nearest militia member and asks him more discretely, and in a friendly, not-too-serious way:
"Doesn't it bother you just a little bit that some people are making such a fuss about this?"
((OOC: if anybody wants to play this out in an IG event with Genzir, complete with Persuade/Diplomacy checks, etc., I'd definitely be up for that.))
Many of the guards in the Boars head actually leave when Genzir arrives, and make notice that yet another Legion member has come to "speak down to them".
The guard that Genzir addressed put his half-finished ale down on the table and left, not answering the condescending questions.
Big surprise there, with that Legion wiggler takin that tone, eh? next thing we know they'll be openin' a legion barracks in town too.

@2592d6350a=Herrold:
A note sealed with the Dolvak crest reaches Dwin. Instead of handing the note to Dwin, the halfling pulls the note back and opens it and reads:
"Your cousin Foilir has heard of the latest appointment by the Norwick Chancellor and forwards you the following message:"
At this point the halfling clears his throat and takes a deep breath, then overacting as he rocks back and forth and slapping his leg he bellows until his lungs are well empty and he is quite red in the face.
"HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR!"
_The halfling repeats this three times at which point he crumbles up the note and tosses it at Dwin's feet, leaving before a tip is offered.
As he leaves he adds on:_
"Told you so!"
The halfling is grabbed by Dwin never seen again.

_Lucid and Dwin are seen walking together towards town from the direction of the Dwarven Fortress. Anyone watching closely will see that they are not talking nor making any eye contact with each other.
As they approach the gate, Lucid veers off.. possibly to the Spellweavers. Dwin enters town, nods to some senior officers, and they follow him into the barracks where they remain until well after dark._
-
::Chuckles, seeing the notice, smiling as he heads through town while commenting::
Wow, gutsy. Proclaiming Legion membership here. The only two things worse he could've done is say he was a bard, or that he was friends with Adam Bromley.
-
general grag is seen in the distance of norwick with calendel congragulating him and salutes were given as they walked off their seperate ways
-
On hearing that he is a legion member–a bit of information not revealed until now--Dwin stomps off to find Lucid
-
Kalith his heard remarking Now that was unexpected as he heads off to the Nars on Patrol.
-
Raisa smiles widely when she hears the news and is often seen stopping to speak with Calendel when she finishes praying over the fields each morning.
