Gypsy Camp Player Meeting Log

    Hi folks. Since I am taking over for Riverthorn as SDM of the Gyspy Camp, before I do anything but gather information and review existing projects, plots and events, I want to set a meeting for all players that have characters that are Oath Takers.

    I want you all to come prepared to outline any ideas or thoughts you have on improving game play for that area (including changes to the camp, the NPCs, the areas, the monsters, the history, etc…). The meeting will be in two main parts... your ideas which I will listen to first... and then my ideas (at least the ones that won't spoil any suprises).

    For any that can't make it.. the log will be posted here after the meeting.

    [18:42] <kerby>8,3As SDM of the GC, I am responsible for the Gypsy Pass, the Gypsy Camp, the Hidden Pass, the Hidden Cove, the entire Cold Cave area, the Gnoll Ruins, and partially for the Alliance in screen.
    [18:42] <kerby>8,3First priority is the camp itself. I will be changing the feel of the camp. No more shacks. The exception may be a lodge where gaji can stay in the Gypsy Pass, but I still haven’t decided on that yet. Otherwise it will be tents, ruins and small caves around the base of the cliffs in the Gypsy Pass and the Gypsy Camp. The crafter’s stations will be reworked to get rid of those bell tower meeting places.
    [18:42] <kerby>8,3There will be a central fire in the Gypsy Camp as well as the Gypsy Pass. If I could bring the wagons into the forest tileset, I would. But I can’t, so I am holding off on that idea.
    [18:42] <kerby>8,3I will be working hard to get anyone that requested housing into tents or caves. There may be some shared tents though… so if you have some IC camp buddies… start forming groups (basically there is not enough room in camp for you to each have your own large round tent.
    [18:42] <kerby>8,3The caves may alleviate some of this, but the communal feel of the camp means that anyone who is single (i.e. not married) is expected to share quarters. Generally those quarters are uni-sex for Rom, although gali will be given leniency for both-sex shared quarters.
    [18:42] <kerby>8,3After that I am working on a few things. Two MAIN ideas for expansion in the area will be chasms and clifftops added to the Hidden Pass. The second is gully canyons that will head west off of the Hidden Pass screens.
    [18:42] <kerby>8,3I won’t give out details of what I have planned beyond that, but I want to let you all know that I will not be undertaking any HUGE projects that will take months to complete. I am looking to do the expansions in bite size portions so that we can keep things moving.

That should give you all ideas for some of the items that they would have… and even good names for them!

Basically, the Rom should be a lot more superstitious. Checking in with the fortune teller for thier daily "horoscope" should be a part of their culture. Katya says, "OooOOOOO… no no... is no good to go out of camp today! Bad mojo!!" ((-1 DEX)). Have it cost very little (5gp) for camp members and pretty expensive (50gp) for outsiders.

    [18:56] <kerby>8,3Still working with the gnolls and spiders as the primaries. But we’ll slowly introduce additional opponents as the side gullies, chasms, and clifftops get filled in. Hills forests and mountains. So creatures that would reside in those terrains could be expected.
    [18:56] <kerby>8,3To give you all a little geopgrapy lesson about the area’s that are off the current screen… the Gypsy Camp and the Hidden Pass has the Giantspire Mountains to the west and the Rawlinswood to it’s south. To the north is the Alliance Inn, Western Foothills and more of the Giantspire. If the Rom were to travel to this area they may have come here THROUGH those mountains.
    [18:56] <kerby>8,3The alternative is the Forest Blood River that has it’s source to the south and west of the Camp. That river leads all the way through the Rawlinswood and to the northern head of the Easting Reach, which is a branch of the Sea of Fallen Stars. This River is almost considered a border between the Great Dale to the south and Impiltur to the west. So that is the terrain I will be working with.

So did expertise in areas that they themselves did not know about. So then it starts to have the feeling of circus-folk, where outsiders would be welcome, so long as they were useful. And eventually, would be treated as a member of the family.

No Rom or gali needs to accept anyone as a guest. But to do so obligates his entire people. So chose wisely.
    [17:38] <kerby>8,3It does not have to be gold. It could be a candy for a child, it could be a good bottle of ale. But it should reflect what you have done to help your guest.
