Sarp's journey to Norwick.

  • Character name: Sarp of Suzail

    NWN account: spaboli

Sarp was the only child of a somewhat respected Cormyrian wizard. When Sarp was in his early teens his father decided it was time for Sarp to study magic, to his amazement Sarp was a very fast learner and with proper guidance would make an excellent wizard.
Soon Sarp's father put Sarp in a college for warwizards. Everything went well for a while until one day Sarp and his would-be warwizard buddies decided to have a try at drinking some wine in a local alehouse. From that point on it was downhill for Sarp.
Sarp and his friends partied and drank wine occasionally but Sarp began drinking more and more… and soon he got booted out of the wizard-college and began losing his friends due to his excessive drinking. Not long after his father said something along the lines of 'I have no son'. This all caused Sarp to binge drink even more. Thirty years passed with Sarp drinking and studying magic when he wasn't drunk.
After one unlucky wine-filled tenday Sarp woke up in a wagon transporting slaves into Bildoobaris.. And he was one of the slaves. He had a hazy recollection of drinking three bottles of wine and trying to flirt with with a dark skinned beauty from Anauroch. Then the last thing he could remeber was being dragged into a slave-wagon by an angry fat slavetrader called Ahmed.
Ahmed wasn't the sharpest tool in the box as he had not chained or restrained Sarp in any way nor had he performed a body search on him. Sarp noticed that he still had his wine stained spellbook with him along with a baggy of the common spell reagents. He waited for the right moment to escape.. and after a few tendays it came, all of the guards except for Ahmed and his burly bedine bodyguard Jafar had gone hunting for food. Being the smart man he is Sarp had taken his time to memorize an expeditious retreat spell which he used to outrun Jafar and Ahmed. He ran for almost half an hour before collapsing from exhaustion only a stonethrow away from Norwick. 'This place has an inn.. why not' and with that thought he decided to stay in Norwick, atleast for the moment.
