Recently arrived in Norwick is a little hin lady of great beauty. Elanor is just out of her teenage years, a pretty girl yet oddly quiet. Quick to smile or giggle and not obviously shy in coming forwards. To those who ask she is happy to show them the reason for her silence though she seems sad that people feel the need to ask. As a baby of less than a year a raid on her village in the foothills of the Spine of the World mountains left the populace dead and the children enslaved. To silence the children their tongues were cut out, no matter how young they were, and they were put to work as slaves in the ore mines of the mountains. Elanor was brought up a slave in these mines working as soon as she was old enough to lift a rock. However her salvation was in her blood already and only took some time to come to pass. Elanor eventually realised that she could occasionally hear the thoughts of both slave and jailer and that if she concentrated they could always here her words. Always one of the smartest children she used the information she could trade for and could listen in on to plan and make an escape for herself and the other three children she was chained to. They made their way down the mountains and eventually came to rest, after some wanderings, in Neverwinter. She used her telepathy to speak for the other three children and despite the occasional prejudice secured them trades and homes before turning to her own future.
With her companions settled into warm homes and jobs with a prospect Elanor needed to find a direction for herself. Despite working the mines her stamina and strength were very poor, heavy lifting, sword play and the like were out of the question but more than anything else she had a thirst for knowledge of herself, her gift and her family. She found her way into several libraries in the city, each time sitting watching people reading and picking some of what they were reading from the front of their minds. This was until she was caught in the Library of the Many-Starred Cloak. Astrid, the wizard in residence of the Neverwinter Guild house was intrigued by the girl who could not speak but could talk to her mind and undertook to teach her to read and write. Elanor soaked up the knowledge and then read every book she could lay her hands on. She showed aptitude for wizardry and has followed the training of her first mentor but finds magic more difficult than her vocal brethren since she cannot sound the words of the spells. However she has excelled in linguistic skills and can now speak many many languages, all, so far, only telepathically.
Then she head tell of magical regrowth of missing body parts and began to crave the knowledge that might at last lead to an end to her silence. The books of Neverwinter, and even the Priests their were unable to assist and so, on hearing of the Spellweaver Academy in Norwick she has journeyed their with her raven familiar, Voice, to search on for a cure.
Since arriving she has befriended a few people already and Circini of Arvoreen has shown her both the Silver Valley, which Elanor fell in love with instantly, and the Emerald Circle, another guild of Wizards and Arcane Casters whom she would like to join. Circini has offered to try and find her someone of a wizardly bent to apprentice to. Her exploration of the Spellweaver keep itself has yet to turn up any actual mages.
