Chauntean Priestess Anna Blake's Open Announcement to Farmers

  • Peltarch Employee

As many know, the southern farmlands are crown land and not privatized; with priestess Anna Blake and Thom Tiller the leaders and administrators of the community. Open positions will be available to any farmers who feel they're being used or abused by the privatization of the farms to the west of the city to find their home here.

Furthermore, by the sounds of it she is openly offering her own coin to purchase plots of land in the west whose sales have yet been finalized.

Lastly, she offers a stern warning to opponents of her own, threatening to sabotage her efforts.

"The Grain Goddess watches Her people, those who aid them, and those who would do them harm. Though I normally have left the west to their own devices, at this point I will tolerate no more abuse to Her faithful. Measures will be taken to see they are treated fairly, or there will be consequences."

  • The Western farms that have been purchased are the six ones on Meadowfield Lane. There are other farms on other dirt roads, but these are the six that were purchased. The entirety of the Western farms are privately owned and the families there are very reluctant to sell to anyone. The six farming families on Meadowfield Lane (a specific, single road, which is one of many) that have sold their land, sold it some time ago to Oliver Holloway. Under the representation of Syltria, a Bardess, the farmers are bringing Holloway to Court. Holloway is represented by a woman named Quince Harkreath.

The farming families are currently staying at the inn pending the outcome of the trial. They express gratitude for the offer to work in the Southern Fields, but insist that they prefer to have their land back. Holloway refuses to sell back any of the land he purchased to anyone, pending the outcome of the trial.

The trial is to be held soon with Magistrate Shannon D'Arneau presiding, Syltria speaking as legal counsel on behalf of the farmers, and Harkreath speaking as legal counsel on behalf of Holloway. Charges against Holloway include a lack of real consent to the contracts as well as treason. Holloway, represented by Harkreath, counterclaims for damages on the grounds that the litigation is vexations and that the allegations of treason are slanderous.
