Saving your Characters
-
**Just in case anything goes wrong, it's a good idea to save your Narfell characters to your own hard drive once in a while - for peace of mind.
While in game, simply hit escape and choose, the option 'Save Character.'**
People with crafter PCs may like to screenshot their skill points.
When you wish to retrieve a save:
- enter your NWN folder
- find the sub folder "localvault" and open it
- locate the version of your pc with the highest number eg elurieltriallanravan42.bic
- this .bic file is what you email to NarfellStaff@gmail.com when asked
The bic in someone's vault allows them to "select a premade character" when starting a NWN module - and see a perfect copy of your Narfell character at the moment in time you saved them.
Alternately, you may open the .bic in wordpad. This allows such things as copy/pasting the description of any item.

Bumpity bump.

Do this.
There are other ways to retrieve items, but this is the Easy one that You can do and save someone else having to spend a lot of time on it.
-
Time to save!
Log on to your alt accounts and rarely played characters for a local vault copy too.

Did your PC die at the weekend?
If the server had crashed right after would you have had a recent save for easy gear recovery? If the answer is no, make sure you take local vault saves.

While it's still a good idea to screenshot your crafting points, these points are now saved on your PC rather than in the database (unlike in the past).
Unless something goes majorly wrong, restored PCs should now retain their crafting points.
