Priests and Paladins of Narfell take note
KNOW your god's dogma. Remember you are the living conduit for your god's powers.
You are to bring their greatness to the masses thus increasing their goals and power through prayer. Even those gods whose agents work in the shadows and dark, need to have their priests extol in their actions their god’s dogma.
Know your god's dogma, what they stand for and who their friends and foes are. Aid in furthering their dogma and goals, stand against what they stand against and smite their foes.
You can fall; this will happen if you fail to adhere to the dogma and tenets of your god. You will receive hints of this if the infractions are minor…one biggy can see the fall happen straight away.
Being a Fallen cleric (or other divine caster PC) can be reversed, through devoted service and/or acts of atonement… don’t think you can just switch to another god after failing to follow the dogma of your original deity… no god wants an unreliable follower (see biggy fall for possible exception)
It is possible that you may fall through RPing your PC as you see best, or be placed in a position where you must make the best of bad choices which results in a fall. If that happens, do not despair. The DM team is not out to get you, and an opportunity will be provided for the PC to redeem themselves if they (and their player) want to take it.
Basic RP guidelines:
Again know the dogma, tenets, history, allies and foes of your god.
Know the church structure of your god and what they expect of a priest.
Pray, know when you are to pray and what is involved in said prayers (for example, a cleric of Lathander should pray at dawn).
Proselytise; I shall fling up the old definition for this: “to convert or attempt to convert as a proselyte; recruit”
Hold sermons, talk about your god, and get others to pray to them.
Obviously some gods don’t work in this open way, yet the information for what their priests are charged with will be there…do it.Failure to do these things, well that makes you a pretty bad and useless cleric…what are you achieving with your god's power? See fallen token section as to where all these rhetorical questions are going.
Drive by healing/buffing….bad!!!! Naughty and there will be a spanking…For a start this can lead to potential PK situations (fine in itself), but, a cleric of Talona drive by healing a cleric of Chauntea for example. I think we can all see the issues with that. Casting a spell on a person without their consent is possible and very legitimate reasons to beat them down, or start a conflict. While this can lead to great RP, it pretty much doesn’t further your god's goals (don’t try and argue, but you could totally annoy an enemy of your god and that would really upset them and your god would be all happy… but they’d be happier if you drive by smote them instead). Note that the "drive by healing" described above is speaking of out of combat situations where there is an opportunity to RP it - not in-combat where there is not.
With respect to the smiting… keep in mind that Narfell's PK rules still apply.

Bumped as a reminder to folks!

Druids you would also do well to heed the general advice in the above post.
Druids also fall under their deities guidelines, and can/will be smited for failing to listen to their deities advice.
Know the dogma, practices of your chosen god/dess. Remember that druids should be of a neutral nature, always seeking a balance. Whether is it neutral good, true neutral, or neutral evil…. is of course up to you.On crafting.... please remember that a druid's first duty is to the balance of nature. If you choose to craft, please note that the constant slaughtering of animals for hides, or the constant cutting down of healthy trees is most certainly going to be noted by your chosen deity and could lead to consequences.
I understand that crafting on Narfell requires some killing of animals, and some cutting down of trees. The nature of the game. Please RP it responsibly and in an IC manner. To be both a crafter and a druid, the RP standards will be higher. You answer to your god, just as a cleric or paladin does.
