Varan Lorel Aquinas: A Family Legacy

Varan Lorel Aquinas…the son of Jarrin Lorel Aquinas (former character) has travelled from his safe upbringing in Sembia with his mother and younger brother to lift the curse afflicting his family. His father, Jarrin, invoked the wrath of his God Torm by consorting with individuals who summoned and controlled the undead. Jarrin believed that the use of any means to defeat a greater evil was acceptable. This flew in the face of his beliefs and angered his God. Jarrin's holy symbol that he had worn proudly around his neck cracked and he found himself without the cloak of faith his God provided.
With his act of defiance his family suffered tradegy. His youngest son was killed in arms training when a splinter from his shield penetrated his visor and embedded itself in his eye. His second born son fell from his steed and was crippled in his left arm. Varan's young betrothed suddenly fell ill and passed from a deadly fever. The well established family businesess began to fail, and fall into desperate debt. Soon, the Aquinas family found themselves heavily in debt. Varan wrote to his father who was searching the lands of Narfell in his holy quest to find a great evil that threatened to destroy his family. The letters he recived in return were barely lucid ramblings of a man on the brink of losing his sanity.
Varan studied the letters carefully and came to the conclusion that something strange had happened to his father.Having nothing left in Sembia he packed his family off to Narfell. He sent his mother and younger brother to the city of Peltarch whilst he himself headed off to the less civilised towns in search of his father.He believes firmly that the clue to lifting the apparent curse on his family lies in the lands of Narfell.
Taking the name, Teras Kale to avoid any possible connections with his father, he plans to unveil the mystery of his father's fall and unbeknowlingly to him prevail in the eyes of Torm to restore His glory to the Aquinas family.
