The Waterdhavian Sergeant, Celdir.
-
Already from his childhood, Celdir started showing the two sides of his personality. While on one side, fighting bravely and with honor, the other side took whatever he could easily get away with. These two sides followed him into his adulthood.
Celdir Nemiladór is an elven warrior/scout who used to live in Waterdeep. His mother was a wood elf from Silverymoon, and his father was a captain of the Waterdhavian army. By the time Celdir reached his 60's, his father took him training at the military academy of Waterdeep, where it soon showed that he hadn't been attending most classes, mostly because he thought they were boring (most of these classes were theoretic), and instead been sneaking around in the academy compound. The Principal would have expelled him, if it weren't for the fact that they didn't have solid proof, noone had ever caught him.
The principal, in consulation with Celdir's father, decided to put these skills to use, and signed him up for classes of the more 'subtle' type. Celdir was overjoyed, until he heard the catch. He had to attend all classes from now on, or be expelled fully.
After five tough years, Celdir finally graduated, and joined the waterdhavian army's Shadow Legion, in which he quickly rose to the grade of Sergeant, and started worshipping Helm, the watcher, as his father did too. Celdir was sent to many dangerous missions, both involving infiltrating enemy camps, assassinating rogue leaders, and uncovering treason. He never failed an assignment, under his 55 years in the army.
All life seemed wonderful for Celdir, until the day that his commander-in-chief called him to his office. There he was told that his father, the captain, had been found guilty of major treason, and was to be sent into the Undermountain for the rest of his life. Of course, Celdir didn't believ that his father was guilty, but due to this, the commander couldn't keep Celdir in the army. He was too big a risk. Shortly after the punishment was delt, and his father sent down, Celdir's mother died of sorrow.
Celdir saw this as a sure sign that the Watcher had left him, and left Waterdeep the day after his mothers death, only after a short visit to the Yawning Portal. He started travelling across the lands, a pilgrim, without finding any rest. After 30 years of travelling, he found himself upon the lands of Narfell, and thought that he was done travelling. He settled down in the first town he saw, the Port City of Peltarch. He immediately started looking for a job, and found some rumours about a legion in the south, in a village called Jiyyd…
