    History:
    Gerrard’s exsistance is the result of a genetic experimentation by a wizard from Amrutlar of Thay. His mother was a human slave subjected to the tyranny of the wizard and was impregnated by the seed of a dragon. The experimentation was designed to duplicate documented references of dragon disciples. The goal was to create superior form of slave that was stronger, sturdier and perhaps more useful for martial services. Several female slaves were subjected to the experiment with mixed results.

    Gerrard however was smiled upon with a stroke of luck. His mother had become extremely ill near the end of her pregnancy while the wizard was handling important trade business in the city of Nethjet. In effort not to loose the resources invested in the experiment she was to be transported to the owning wizard from Amrutlar. During the trip the caravan was sacked by bandits, all valuables were stolen and the women were taken prisoner, some would be used and others would be sold. After discovering that one of the slaves was sickly she was left die in the wild only to be discovered by Gerald Dresslar a Mystran monk who carried her back to his monastery located in the eastern foothills of the Dragonjaw Mountains near the southern river. As a result his mother died but they were able to save the child and so Gerrard Dresslar was born. Taking his name from the monk that found his mother’s dying body.

    The monks had to decide what to do with the child and several factors played a part in that decision. Judging by the mother’s attire and scars they assumed it was likely she was a slave. Also, they noticed that the body of the child was completely hairless. Finding this odd they requested that clergy members examine the child and during that time it was noticed he seem to have some natural connection to the weave. (Sorcerer/Dragon Blooded) Knowing these things it was voted that they would accept the child into the monastery and teach him their way of life in service of Mystra.

    Gerrard led a normal life at the monastery his training was average but acceptable under supervision of Gerald Dresslar his mentor and father figure. Upon reaching the age of 14 it was mandatory for him to learn more about the world and it would be required of him to leave his beloved home in search of knowledge. As a result he was sent north to the lands of Narfell. He would not be able to return until he could bring knowledge to contribute to the archives in the form of texts or artifacts and he would then be instructed on how to further protect the balance of the weave.
