Aramis

  • _Everyone knows that those who are born with the privilege of being able to manipulate the weave, have a great responsability on them, and in many cases they are killed when they show any signal of the hability. Maybe you'll think that's a bad thing, no body likes dead childrens, but seing what I've seen you wouldn't be so sure If killing them would not be better than letting them alive. My name is Aramis, I'm actualy standing in the middle of a forest which doesn't seem to have an end, and due to the sounds I've heard during the past days, I shall asume I am in a great danger. Not knowing how long will I last I am writing this letter and protecting it with magic so it's not destroyed before someone, who can comprehend it, reads it. The following lines describe what many people know about Thay but everyone ignores, I just hope someone is able to do what is imposible to me. I'm a fugitive, a Thay fugitive, which as you know, means, that the most powerful wizards known in Faerûn hold a grudge against me. This is my story:

I was born, and that happened as if I was any other ordinary child. Four years passed, and the nightmare started… a simple apple cost me my "life". My mother used to take me to the merchants to buy food, and I loved apples, I couldn't end the day without eating one, but that day my mother wouldn't buy me an apple, and that made me angry. I just wanted the apple, and the apple somehow made its way to my hand, as if an invisible person would have given it to me. I was unlucky a wizard saw it. A few seconds after two men came and pulled me away from my mum, who I have never seen again. After that, the monotony of the Thay wizards's torturing habits is all I remember from my childhood.

Thay wizards cut the child's hair, even the eyebrows one. It's a way to take away their personalities, they become a thing, a thing that must learn by any means posible, and that, as I said, include tortures. Not everyone makes it to the top, and escaping is almost imposible. In that place there are no friends, not even partners. They are all enemies.

At first I didn't understand what had I done, why I was there. But years later I found out, that at least to my eyes Thay Red wizards do not want enemies of their own size, so if you study the art, there are two chances to their understanding, Join them, or die....

It's getting dark, and the noises are even louder. To end this letter I'll say I was able to run away from Thay, at the age of 16, and I did reach Thesk when I lived most of my life, now they've found me and I've made my way north. I supouse If I survive I'll reach Narfell. Someone must stop the barbarity, Thay plans to get back conquering, as it used to... and trust me you must fear their spells and armies! I do not think they'll look further for me, they know I am not something they must worry about, they just hate to have been fooled by a student.

To the one who find this, spread the word. A few Thesk people know but merchants can't do much about it. If I survive I will study the art and maybe one day I'll get back to help the children's families retrive their children. But I know I won't be able to make Thay fall.
