Character Name: Kaitlhyn Dae'Maen
Account: hikari_horakiGrowing up in The High Forest, Kaitlhyn Dae'Maen is a middle child coming from an unusually large family of Ithil'Quessir or Moon Elves. Her family consists of their mother, two older brothers, her elder sister and a younger brother. Tirreth, the youngest of her brothers, also happens to be a well-known and well-travelled Sorcerer associated with Narfell's Mages of Spellweaver Keep. She doesn't know much about her father, other than he left their family when she was young, leaving her mother to raise her family on her own.
The majority of Kaitlhyn's family were dominated by Wizards or were at least involved in the arcane arts in some form or another. Their upbringing consisted of a strong arcane heritage, influenced by the various Wizards in the community that surrounded them. She and her siblings were taught the lore of the Arcane much in the same way a Wizard. The extent of their teachings would follow that of most typical Wizards, learning as an Adept or Initiate and eventually graduating to Wizardhood. Included in her studies were languages, specifically Old Elven and Draconic. Kaitlhyn never believing she would ever become a Wizard, gave little attention to these lessons, resulting in her competency in both languages being minimal at best.
During a tragic event unfolding while attending the annual Mage Fairs of Silverymoon, Kaitlhyn's eldest brothers and her mother were all murdered by an army Orc Raiders. This gave life to a newfound and deep-seated hatred towards all Orcs and their blood kin. One short year after this event, she felt like she no longer had a place with her remaining brother and sister at home, so giving into her wanderlust she slipped off under the night sky.
Kaitlhyn decided that it would be best create a new identity for herself while travelling the roads, a name that would not tie with her past. One name which seemed to stick was "Dragonfire". During her new road-bound life, she had come across a small group of followers of Eilistraee, The Dark Maiden. Most of the group consisted of Drow, though at least two were various Elves from the surface world, like herself. As she travelled with and learned more about this strange band of people, Kaitlhyn found herself relating to the dogma of The Dark Maiden. Quickly she found herself willing to assist them in their quest; to open up the eyes of the Drow to the way of life above ground and help them find their way.
Given the reputation of the Ssri'Tel'Quessir (Drow), it wasn't long before their group was tracked down and hunted like a pack of animals by ignorant do-gooders. Many of them were killed. Among those that were slain was a Drow Priestess of Eilistraee, one of whom Kaitlhyn had come to consider as her little sister, Gulyraen'thrae. This only served to heat Kaitlhyn's passion for the cause, increasing it by tenfold.
Swearing a silent oath to herself, she went about studying the art of archery. Given her Arcane background, Kaithlhyn soon found herself beggining experimenting with the energies in her own voice, using them to guide her arrows to their target. It was a technique she would soon find becoming her life-long focus, in addition to upholding the tenets and dogma of her once closest friends and followers of Eilistraee.
