Camp Bon Fire Rumors and Stories

  • Word spreads quickly throughout the camp of Aelthas' resignation from the Warriors after what appears to be a falling out with his fellow Commander Raver. Emotion seemed to run high as Raver and Lycka could be overheard yelling at each other at the heartfires, while Ael himself walked off swiftly after having said his piece, returning a while later to exchange a few tense and angry words with both Raver and William. Regardless of why or how the strife began, it seems to make none of those involved happy. Aelthas' resolve seems firm though, as he has already handed over command of the Pink Warriors to Mira and no longer wears the trademark blue-brown- and pink of the squad.

  • Ragnhild seems to take the panther's presence around their tent in her stride, apparantly used to Asha bringing home stray animals by now. Though the big cat is definitely greeted with more wariness than the lovable Limp was, a soft smile lights up the blonde warrioress' face as she watches her daughter caring for the animal with such enthusiasm. Fresh deer and boar meat is provided in generous quantities to help Pounce's recovery.

  • After the recent trip into the pass where the Fadia and Ginger and William all rescued a panther with a broken leg from the taint, Asha can be seen happily caring for the large predator. Feeding the cat meat and checking the splint. She seems to greatly enjoy caring for the animal and announces loudly that the cat will be called Pounce because that's what she'll teach her. For the time being the panther remains quiet, though, and shows no inclination to live up to her name.

  • Raver is quiet, withdrawn these days. Her eyes are sad, lifeless and she barely speaks. She's handed most of the duties of the Warriors over to Jaiden. She's been spotted on the far side of the Gypsy Pass staring into the fire, or there's rumors that there are days she doesn't leave her house

  • _For a long while a wolf was the constant companion of Asha, but now the lovingly called Limp has disappeared from the camp. Asha appears even more quiet and withdrawn with the disappearance of the wolf, but those who ask her about him are told that he's back with his own flock. That he's home and he'll be happy. The young woman seems almost desperate in her attempt to smile, then, despite the sadness in her voice.

The last time Limp was seen around the camp was when he strolled north accompanied by Celebring, Lycka and Asha, the two young women chatting and talking to the well-fed but quiet wolf almost endlessly._

  • _After keeping almost entirely to her own little tent for weeks, Cherry seemed to emerge from it for a few days…in rather euphoric state. For these few days, the Camp is treated to not just one Cera but essentially two. Cherry making for a younger version of her grandmother all the more in her constant euphoria.

No matter how grim the news it might seem, Cherry would give a giggle and maybe a hug to bearer of the news if it was particularly sad. Once or twice around the heartfires, grandmother and granddaughter convened during these few days and gabbed away in a gigglefest that might hurt the average Romani or Gali's head if they tried to understand one iota it. With talk of things like paths through the planes and colors and demons on the other side and fiery monsters, it might seem it hurt the heads of the two Amalith women.

Then after a short stay up in Norwick, Cherry returned to Camp only to disappear again for a few days as she's become known to do UPon her return, she again only states that she was in 'the Wind'. Whatever that is, Cherry seems to be...sober once again. The Camp will just have to live with only one Cera...for now._

  • Asha, on the other hand, seems to have settled for a slightly more edible version of Ragnhild's cooking. Apparently protected by a thick, ungiving crust the output of her cooking looks suspiciously like her mother's, while the use of seasoning seems to have little effect… at first glance.

  • Raver can be seen helping Aelthas escape the Camp before Lycka can find either one of them. One of the Warrior claims they said they were going to go scouting in the Far Far Far Far West Rawlins for a 10 day

  • _One late afternoon, Ragnhild returns from a hunting trip to the Mintas forest laden with various kinds of furs and meat. Seemingly eager not to waste any of the fruits of her labour, the tall blonde warrioress calls on both her daughters to help cook. Wise Romani stay well out of the way as sooty smoke rises from the fire near Ragnhild's tent, the scent of burning meat mingling with that of possibly exotic and definitely undefinable spices.

True to form, Ragnhild produces her customary plain coal-like slabs of meat, while Lycka on the other hand seems to get.. creative. While the young bard's recepy of pork-, apple- and fenberry stew might sound edible on paper, the unorthodox seasoning and overly generous time spent on the stove turns the dish into a slightly gelatinous, greyish-green gooey mass that appeals to no one sane. The dire bear steaks filled with gritty hazelnut paste look no more promising, but ever optimistic, Lycka skips off to get some decorative sprigs of parsley before attempting to find volunteers to sample the dishes._

  • Kaetlyn has been seen asking Rom if they know of any shrines in high places that have stone seats.

  • Tragedy strikes in the inner camp itself when one Romani man is found dead at the entrance of the collapsed mines. His body found badly burned most likely by acid and only half complete. The rest apparently was..eaten away by the acid. The ground around the body also showed signs of acidic flow from inside the mines. The body was found, rain still drenching it and the ground around it during a recent rain shower with no sign of what caused the poor man to be half-eaten by acid.

  • Cherry, Lycka and Rhistin could recently be observed talking excitedly at the heartfires, inbetween giggling and hugging each other. The reasons for this abundant joy was not only due to congratulating Cherry on her recent marriage, but also, it seems, in celebration of rings on each of the other two young women's hands. A golden ring could be seen on Rhistin's finger, while Lycka proudly flaunted a delicate silver ring, glowing with a soft blue light. The constant giggling and heavy use of words like engagement, romance, marriage and children eventually drove a scrawny man in black to flee from the fires, though a smiling Aelthas later joined the three with a lot less apprehension.

  • Though Cherry is now a married woman and no longer a Warrior, she is no longer seen around Camp as often, spending much if not most of her time with her new husband. However Cherry still keeps her tent near her grandmother's tree. Also since Rass's reported appearance, Cherry spends a lot of the time that she IS in Camp training as if she had never left the Warriors in the first place…that and helping Cera and Jeni with odds and ends.

  • The story of Aelthas' kidnapping seem verified by a very loud, enraged and possibly ear-piercing shriek that came from just outside the camp mere seconds after a large and bright pink creature took to the skies:

"MINE! Bring him back, you oversized, thieving, good for nothing -lizard-!!"

Before the echo of the scream had time to fade out, the white-haired source of it was already running south at full speed. Later, when both have returned unharmed, Lycka can be overheard commenting that Aelthas is just too pretty for his own good, looking both peeved and proud all at once.

    –-

A short time later, rumours of minotaurs being spotted in the hobgoblin caves might trickle into the camp after a group headed there to investigate, lead by the knight Kara DuMonte. Whether or not this unusual occurrence has anything to do with Rass' reappearance remains a matter of pure speculation.

  • _The camp seemed to be in a frenzy as a large red dragon that many would know by the name of Rass appeared out in the pass, along with an army of hobgoblins. Everyone who was not holding the entrance to camp was taken to the inner camp and into the caves to wait out the conflict. All seemed to settle a short time later, the hobgoblins were killed or driven off, Rass flew off in battle with a majestic silver dragon harassing her all the way into the mountains.

One thing has people worried and that is the stories of Rass and Sharn mating and producing crossbreed dragons of a bright pink color. It was even said that one of the pink dragons kidnapped Commander Aelthas right outside in the pass and flew him off to the mountains, where he was later found and came home unharmed.

Most Romani seem to keep their eyes on the sky as they go about their business now, waiting for Rass or one of her children to come back, the smallest hint of a dragon sending people scrambling to the caves._

  • _A last minute auction and festival seemed to be put together by Aelthas in the camp, free food and drink were given to all, courtesy of the Pink Merchant, laughter was heard throughout the camp well into the night as people enjoyed archery and fighting after the auction.

Eluriel took the archery contest in a close match against William and Kara and Devlin took the fighting contest in a five on five match against Myrrha, Felix, Moradim and Natasha.

The Romani and Gali seemed to enjoy themselves and are talking about hosting another festival in the coming months. Several are already beginning to stock up on unique items and wine for the next one._

//Thx to Nilla and any other DM that helped out with the festival, had fun. 🙂

  • _A curious sight could recently be observed near the heartfires as Asha, Lycka and Rhistin sat in deep concentration, bent over some apples with various cutlery in their hands. Whatever experiment the three were performing seems to have had only limited success, as apple after apple was discarded or simply fell apart from the treatment. Spirits nonetheless seemed high, and in the end a visiting red-headed swordsman provided some useful aid, Lycka beaming and packing the cutlery away afterwards.

Apple experiments aside, Lycka appears to focus most of her time on martial training lately, either working relentlessly at the combat dummies with sword, axe and flail, or headed out into the pass on long patrols._

  • _The very same trio head straight for Cera's tree after a trip out to the Nars pass, looking thoughtful and concerned. The wolf's health seems the major worry, but after a check-up by Jeni, Limp is declared free of any ailment. Ragnhild and Asha head back out to sit by the fire, speaking in low tones for quite some time. The talk appears quite emotional, though in the end, a tearful Asha wipes her cheeks and smiles to her mother before all three retreat to their tent and some well needed rest.

Word is later spread of how Ragnhild and Asha, along with a paladin of Milil encountered the woman known as Taly Blackhand out in the pass, after a swarm of spiders attacked them there. It is said Limp was bitten and diseased, but strangely enough appears to have been cured by none other than Taly herself. According to Ragnhild, Taly told them she is seeking a cure for the blight of the forest that she has now claimed as hers, and warns others about setting foot in that territory due to the dangers there.

Ragnhild for her part does not encourage anyone to trust the woman, but advices against downright attacking her too without knowing the truth of matters._

  • Ragnhild smiles softly to Asha, wrapping a warm arm around her shoulders, her other hand ruffling Limp's fur. The sense of sadness slowly fades as mother, daughter and wolf sit in companionable, thoughtful silence. Finally Ragnhild leans down to kiss Asha's hair, before rising and returning to their tent, low conversation and the clatter of tea mugs coming from within.

  • Elusive and plump Asha finds her way to Ragnhild's side, her limping wolf accompanying her even there. The young woman just hugs her arms around her foster mother, the wolf resting peacefully next to them. Sensing the sadness perhaps, neither wolf nor girl emit a single sound, they merely stick close to the tall barbarian woman.
