Nahila was born into a lower class family in Waterdeep. Her father worked in the dock's wharehouses, but spent much of his money at nearby tavern. Her mother worked in a kitchen at a inn in the merchant's district. Her job did not pay good, but it was just enough. When Nashila was in her early teens, she wound up in a small thieving group. One day, she lifted a rather valuable piece of jewelry and fenced it for some good coin. Once the split was done, she had more than enough gold to hold her for some time .... that is when she started into gambling. Shortly after she fenced the jewelry, she decided to try her luck at the tables. She was scoffed at and made fun off, but she had good gold and w willingness to spend it. She won a considerable amount that first day. A couple of years pass, she suddenly realized that she was making a good living at her new profession and had no need to steal. But, at the same time, she was also becoming less and less welcomed at the gamblling houses. One of those houses actually offered her a job as a dealer, and she took it realizing if she did not, she would be out of a job. Unfortunately, soon after the gambling house was shut down for illicit business they were also doing. She was not there when the raid happened sparing her from being arrested that day.
Nashila decided it might be a good idea to leave while the getting was good. She gathered up all she dared and headed south. She heard once that her talents might find some use in Calamport, and that was where she was headed.
