A Group of Hin Gather Near the Graveyard at the Long Road

  • Late one day General Theaon and Sergeant Alvaniel of the Troff Legion return to the Heroes Bluff from the ruins of Jiyyd. The General seems to be carrying something with great care wrapped in cloth. As the two Legionnaires approach the refugee camp, Theaon very gently sets down the cloth and unwraps it, exposing what appears to be the remains of a small being. He briefly speaks with Alvaniel and some of his other kin at the camp. Alvaniel heads off towards the Legion Hall while the hins grab some shovels and head off towards the graveyard. In the meantime, Theaon chants several prayers, seemingly preparing the remains for burial.

Some time later Alvaniel returns from the Legion Hall with what appears to be a hin-sized wooden casket. They gently lift the remains into the casket and carry it off to the graveyard. At the graveyard, not far from the Tomb of Nathander Steel, is a new hole in the ground about the size of the casket. The casket containing the remains are gently lowered into the ground. Those in attendance gather around as Theaon begins to lead a prayer.

"Dear Yondalla, Protector and Provider of Halfling Kind, we ask that you watch over the soul of our fallen kinsman who had perished many years ago when the invaders destroyed our home. His soul has long wondered the ruins of Jiyyd, having to reenact the way in which he perished all those years back. May he now find peace and comfort at the side of the Blessed One, Yondalla."

With that, he whispers some more prayers in Hinnish and pours some holy water on the gravesite. The other hins then begin putting the dirt back into the grave.
