Rumors of the Valley

  • Legion

    Marty of Peltarch has been spending a lot of time in the Valley lately. Most of her time seems to be spent speaking with horses and ponys however. She also examines the sturdiness of some of the carts in the town.

  • Legion

    Benji makes a stop at Valley Vittles on his way through town. Some say he pointed to a corner table and handed the host a sizable bag of coins.

  • ((

    i'll check my logs, but I think thats exactly what he said… maybe we can get Araighn to chime in here... we would not have deployed them without that agreement.

    ))

  • @70e0d8fd97=Clan:

    ((maybe my misunderstanding… I thought that Theaon agreed to this...))

    ((Perhaps I misunderstood too, but I clearly remember him saying… "You can have guards in town, but they better not cause any trouble." Oh well.))

  • The Redcloaks go peacefully, saying they were only doing what they were told. They say they will report the message to their Commander and the Chancellor.

    @6e713c9a97=Skeet:

    With the permission of Theaon Thorn, some seasoned and well disciplined Norwick Redcloaks are seen aiding the Silver Valley guards in an attempt to augment their own town's defenses.

    _Captain Dietrick followed by ten fully armed dragoons walk to each Norwick Redcloak, rounds them up, then politely sees and escorts them out of the valley.

    Dietrick says:
    "The valley danks Norwick fer da good will but we kin handle our own valley. Theaon also says he never agree to havin norwick redcloaks inside da valley. If Norwick and Dwin reallie wants good terms, Dietrick suggest mebbe buildin respect first is gud idea. Declaring da valley as part of da realm, dat us ere' are his subjects, or sending in his troops into da valley on unfound claims dats a councilor said so is prolly not da best way to do dis…"_

    Future orders have also been given by the Captain himself down to the dragoons that, without word given first by the councilors, Norwick Redcloaks exceeding the number of four are no longer allowed to freely enter the valley at once unless there are special circumstances.

  • Lately, Merial has been seen bringing loads of wood to the Valley and spending much of her time in the forge. Anyone who asks will find out she is learning the art of bowcrafting

    Dietrick approaches her and asks her what the matter is about…

  • Legion

    Marty, a semi-regular visitor to the Valley, rides into town in great haste. Her pony Bane's Bane pants and splutters as if she has been driven hard in order to get to the Valley in a hurry. She quickly dismounts and begins looking urgently for Ginger or any other member of the council.

  • Silver Dragoons of the Silver Valley notice Devlin and Dwin walking through the valley. The foreigners are treated as guests, and clearly do not bow and scrape as 'subjects' of the Norwickian's 'realm'.

  • The Halfling Defence League

    @cacce197ab=Speedy_Z_:

    ((After the short brawl, Z had only moments to gather the key and tools before a group of locals chased him out of town. :spank: ((Gotta love faction issues - or was it a DM? :lol:))

    ((No idea whether its factions or a dm. Those were hin fist disciple dragoons btw.))

  • *Rumors of a nasty brawl after the Harvest Moon Festival mar an otherwise perfect event.

    After a long discussion between crafters Benji and Z became a heated argument, Benji was seen throwing his Crafters Union key in the dirt. :x

    When, after more words were exchanged, Benji kicked the Union key away, the normally mild mannered Z completely lost his temper and kicked Benji…several times. :pissed: :matrix:

    After the short brawl, Z had only moments to gather the key and tools before a group of locals chased him out of town. :spank: ((Gotta love faction issues - or was it a DM? :lol:))

    Despite his haste, Z was spotted apologizing to Captain Dietrick as he left town.*

  • Rumor's spread through the valley that Atel Spear - who was a former council member has returned to narfell and discovered the new silver valley after almost twelve years. Though she has been away long, she appears to have almost not aged at all except in her eyes, which now show more wisdom than was previously there.

  • A strange sight was witnessed the other day in the Valley, a pair of tallies and a hin were playing at the water's edge, throwing one another in and seemingly having a lot of fun.

    They stayed for several hours, and enjoyed the finest of the foods the bakers had to offer, before departing at nightfall.

    A pair of hin are seen wandering the valley. The two seem to be brother and sister and look to be around the same age. It is rumored that they belonged to an entertainers troupe that recently disband. The pair are said to have applied for citizenship within the Valley.

    Dietrick who resides in the valley points them in the direction of Councilor Ginger Tealeaf.

    Dietrick spreads word in the valley of Perin Highfold's noble spirit, that the halfling merchant who currently operates in the Peltarch markets paid for the skulls of innocents including a hin so Dietrick may give the skull owners proper burial. Dietrick recommends sales be made to this fellow 'comrade' should any venture up to the city.
